Maddy was standing atop one of the taller buildings of Castelia City. She looked pretty laid back but content, her hands in her pockets as she gazed out at the city.
"What am I doing?" She asked herself out loud.
She stood there, waiting silently. She didn't know what she was waiting for. A response to her question? Some sort of sign out in the city somewhere? The wind picked up and broke the silence.
She let out a sigh and took a seat, sitting on the edge of the building with her feet dangling over the open air. She pulled her lighter and pack of cigarettes out of her pockets and lit herself up a smoke, blowing a cloud of smoke into the air that was immediately swept away by another gust of wind.
Maddy had been missing from Team Aqua for quite some time now and actually was not aware of any current events. For the last few weeks she had been mindlessly drifting around Unova, trying to find herself. Her search was still on-going, but she had found herself in Castelia City once more.

Rose had only just returned from a party and changed into her casual clothes, and was going to the lobby again as Brian entered "I'm free, Brian. What did you uncover?" she asked him.

... And just like that, another pack was gone. Maddy sighed and merely tossed the empty pack of cigarettes over the edge of the building, watching the carton spiral down towards the ground until it was out of her sight. "I guess it's time to tell everyone my decision." She took a Poké Ball off her belt and let out the Pokémon inside; her Noivern. Climbing aboard the dragon's back, they took off into the sky. ~~~ A few moments later, Maddy entered the hotel. She was surprised to see Brian and Rose there. "'Sup?" She greeted him, glancing around the lobby. "Just you two?" She had hoped there would be more members around.

Me: I like cold weather, don't judge. Anyways, I was hiking around, and I think I saw some Plasma members at Chargestone cave, just northwest of Driftveil. I think we should check out what they're doing in that cave.

Maddy frowned.
"Well, to be honest I came by for another reason..."
She took a ball off her belt and this time released her Alakazam. She nodded to the Pokémon, giving it some unheard mental instructions, and turned to the others. Alakazam left the lobby and went upstairs, heading to Maddy's room.
"I could delay my plans for another little while and help you guys out, I guess."

Rose knew the way to Chargestone, so she rode her Talonflame most of the way there and then waited for the others to catch up, since the shortest distance between two places was a straight line and she was confident she had arrived first.

Maddy flew to Chargestone Cave on the back of her Noivern, both trainer and Pokémon taking no notice of the cold as Unova zipped beneath them. As their destination came into view, Maddy pointed out the northern-most entrance to Noivern.
"We're gonna enter in through there, apart from the others. Might take Plasma off guard."
Noivern nodded his understanding and they landed at the other entrance to Chargestone Cave.
Maddy took her TADS out and sent Brian a message, informing him of her plan to enter from the other side, and then recalled her Noivern and entered the cave.

Rose nodded to Briam and patted her Talonflame on the headd "Thanks for the ride here, my friend. I'll leave you out here to watch for Team Plasma, but don't let them catch you" she said to the pokemon, which nodded its head in answer.
Rose looked at Brian again and nodded, then she headed to the cave.
