I'm just glad this guy did some research before he made the story. There's a lot of different things mentioned that not many would know about unless they looked it up. Although he did mess up near the end of that book with the old undead soldiers. Some of those soldiers described never actually fought and died in Ojai. Otherwise he did pretty good. I even went out and bought the second part to the book.

but when i was little they gave me a card under my name and im pretty sure that the fines havent been paid off yet
