Raine looked from Matthias to the pillar and back to Matthias. "A demon must have caused this..." Suddenly, a tiny army of Pokemon came out of the woods to 'greet' them. There was a variety of Dark- and Rock- types. "Guys, it seems we gotta wipe out these cretins before we get any further. Wipe out one each of a Rock- and Dark- type and catch one if you please. Only if it's allowable at your rank though!" With that, she engaged herself in battle.

Matthias stepped back to watch them all fight, since he had no Pokemon of his own anymore...

"Let's do this quickly! Go Emp!" Raine unleashed Maddy's Empoleon as a Golem appeared on the field. Emp acted fast, summoning a giant wave of water to wipe the Golem away. His rocky foe picked up a giant rock and threw it at him, the rock making a dull sound as it bounced off Emp's metallic feathers. A jet of bubbles was released from Emp's beak and the Golem fell.
Next up was a Houndoom, the Dark-type Pokemon leaping on top of Emp and latching onto his wing with fang that pulsed with electrical energy. Emp cried out and batted the dog-like Pokemon away, angrily releasing a powerful torrent of water onto his foe straight after, finishing it.
Raine returned Emp and waited for the others to finish.

Tommy was ambushed by a Smokescreen, sending Tommy into a coughing fit. "Gah! Uh, Gible, go with a Dig!" The Land-Shark dug underground to avoid a nasty Poison Gas. The Dig struck home, sending the Stunky up into the night air. The Stunky dove from the sky with a Night Slash, tearing into Gible, and making him faint. "Shiny Ball, again!" This time, the ball that shines hit it's mark directly.
Shake...
Wiggle...

Tommy watched this pokeball teleport away as well, and returned his Gible. Tommy turned towards the pillar again, but this time didn't start to run off towards it.

"Too true." Tommy nodded his head in agreement with Raine. "I... I'll be the first one there!" Tommy then started racing furiously towards the giant pillar that loomed over head, burning some grass under his feet as he ran; fire was emitting slowly through his shoes, which eventually burned them off, which Tommy didn't notice.

"So, you finally decided to show yourself, old man?" a cocky voice spoke from behind the pillar. "It's about damn time, too. I was begining to think you'd stay cowering in the shadows forever."

The demon stepped out into the open. He looks like a fairly average man, dressed in a black tank and jeans. Tattos cover his arms, and his red eyes burn with anger. Two horns jut out from his sable hair. "And you brought me a few human sacrifices, too? You're too kind." His tail lashed in fury.

"Creatures of stone and darkness, I command you! Occupy our human guests while I settle things with my uncle!" At the demon's bidding, another handful of Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon appear. This group is stronger than the last, and will resist capture.

Matthias' eyes darkened to black. "Amadeus! I should have known." The demon king unbuttoned his cloak and as it fell away from him it morphed into his back to form black-scaled wings. The wind took his hat, blowing it aside to reveal horns much like Amadeus' but slightly bigger. His tail was a forked 'devils' tail also like Amadeus' and it twitched with anger as he looked upon his nephew. He brandished his claws and crouched into an offensive stance. "How dare you show yourself before me, you and your filthy blood!" He snarled.

"Do not blame me for my FATHER'S sin!" Amadeus spat. His clawed hands erupted into demon flame. In a flash, he darted at Matthias, slashing madly into his uncle's wing and ribcage.
