Would imperial troops depart from their patrol routes just to ash a rancor?

More importantly, if the rancor is within sight, wouldn't they just use the long range cannons if they had to? I mean, the thing isn't by any means fast, and the likelyhood that a walker will be even able to target something as fast as the licker is highly unlikely. Between its speed and the sheer foliage cover (not to mention the fact the licker could easily use one of its numerous blind spots to hide and continue battling), you're wasting valuable time trying to kill it.

huh. Forgot about the big guns. I just figured that they wouldnt waste the ammo unless the Rancor possed a threat to friendly forces.

Even so, the medium blasters have more than enough range to blast a rancor. Its not like something that slow can dodge very easily, and more important, fast.
If its outside medium blaster range, its too far to worry about anyhow. I'm curious more as to why there's one of those behemoths on the planet. I can understand the scout walkers, but a bantha like that? Even the sith don't ahve that kind of funding to have one on every planet.

Its a massive waste of reasources. A beheamoth like that is a siege weapon and mobile command center. Its use is wasted on a worthless rock like Dathomir.

Okay, then how about just a scout walker. That should be strong enough.

Question- Are AT-CWs compatible with grenade launchers or heavy ballistics?

Whichever one utilizes it, or can utilize it.

Do you think said railgun would be sufficient to chew through the Licker?

its an anti-tank railgun. If it can rip through a GA issue Hovertank, then the licker should b a piece of cake. If its not super fast or anything.
Corection on the Chaingun part though. Its not a Chaingun.

Now the only question is why the hell is one of those on the planet? Its not like there's an imperial garrison or anything there. The only ship in orbit is the Pillar, and its dubious as to having such technology onboard. Ferno's assassins would be the only thing short of plaguetroopers to be deployed..
More importantly, who's piloting it?
