That ACA penalty always had me nervous about changing jobs, so I'm definitely glad it's gone. For the vast majority of folks, the doubling of the standard deduction makes up for (and exceeds) the removal of most itemization. Sorry it isn't turning out that way for you.
Sorry to hear that, Skreemer. sad

I am deeply sorry, Skreemer. *hugs* Is there anything that can be done to help you?
A lot of things are turning up brown and smelling of a sewer for me, Snowman. My health is not the greatest (looking at an outpatient surgery), car is doing poorly (at least 4 issues that will require repairs before inspection, due two weeks ago), and finances are far less than hoped for (see prior two items).

I'm sorry 2018 isn't treating either of you well. Hopefully these times pass soon.

I hate to say, but this is something I've dealt with for so long that I wonder if it is just the way things are anymore. Not bad, just normal.

There's some utility to re-norming, though it's of course unpleasant for multiple reasons.

And I have been here for 14.126 of those years. A long time.
They added many new posting styles for the anniversary- I sincerely hope they are added in to the regular roster. I do enjoy the chain one.

I've been here for almost 13 years, not counting the 5-6 absent years due to college.
Oh, I didn't notice. A lot of nice stuff over in the regular forums.
Been doing a lot of evening work this week; thankfully that's over... once I do some work this weekend. Still, nothing's as bad as the 18 months of overtime. sweatdrop

That much overtime for that long likely just began to feel like the normal workload for you. Yes, I know you understood that it was overtime . . . but it was normal workload that you became accustomed to. I hate that they overworked you so badly, but I'm glad it is calming down.

I wouldn't have thought you practiced Lent? All it does in my area for non-practicers is make fish really cheap.

Oh I don't... but I work in foodservice, so yeah. All these lenters make odd orders that take forever. Pain in my a**.

Things happen ultimately. To be fair, I've not been in the worst depression cycle. As well, it gives me the freedom to finally be more open about what I actually want in a relationship. Also ultimate winter storm. It hasn't been above minus 2 degrees Celsius today.

Glad you're able to look on the bright side to a degree, Skreemer.
This winter has been a strange one indeed; winter has seemingly ended early for us in CT, with 50-70 degree highs being the norm this & last week.
