First city, and no its not really the same as pokemon, im making it as my own, so its named weirdly. But you have a chance of winning different types of badges, which say if you win, you can go back later on during your adventures and challenge them again for a new type of badge. Its just so it can keep the guild going.
EDIT: It really doesn't matter where you start, and Soj, if you want to be the Grasslion gym leader, then you can.

The battle system requires good rping skills, but every post requires damage since there will be no dodging.
