Fomite 3.14 Valandra Dearest Mala, mesa's got a cat question for you. How much does neutering generally cost if she's not had all of her shots? When we got Pi-Kitty neutered and shotted--it was about $100-150 methinks. That's probably a pretty average range. It varies very widely depending on where and when you get it done. Some areas have spay & neuter drives and it costs less than $30, and some places will charge upwards of $200. For a random soapbox moment, I would strongly encourage one not to price shop when it comes to surgery. Cheaper surgery often reflects decreased anesthesia monitoring, decreased drug availability, and may mean that no fluids are used, etc. One of the most depressing cases I've ever dealt with was a 1 year old cat that arrested during an elective neuter procedure at another clinic. He was resuscitated and spent a day in CCU on heavy life support before he died. Thanks Mala, I really appreciate it. I agree about the price shopping, I'm just trying to get a general idea about how much I'm going to need to save up for this.
