[ Sora : Disney Town : Festivities ]
"Ooooh. Well, why didn't you just say something?" he asked, scratching his head as he realized she'd been following him. "I wouldn't have left you behind and you wouldn't have had to stalk me to keep up."
"Anyway, Mickey's got this one," Sora explained, fairly nonchalant in his assumption. "Kairi's good, but if there's one thing about her--"
Someone was coming up on the two of them, and they were activating their car's attack, getting ready to plow through both of them.
"--she's more protective than she is competitive."
Almost instinctively, Kairi ducked to the side--into the car's oncoming attack, knocking it away. In the process, however, she gave Mickey just the lead he needed to cross the finish line, barely a second ahead of her.
Cheers flared up and horns blew as the racers all finished, beginning their victory lap at a slow, orderly pace.
Sora shrugged, grinning. The insight seemed second-nature. "So, first Jasmine, then Belle, then the mermaids--time to meet another princess, hmm?"

[ Noelle ~ Disney Castle ~ Living Quarters]
Noelle offered Joe a small smile as her eyes teared, but couldn't muster much more. She drew nearer, but was visibly quite cautious in the way she tread. It was as if she feared she might wake Rae up, but she knew she wouldn't. Their friend looked like she could just open her eyes at any moment and everything would be alright. It was heart-wrenchingly deceiving, and it almost seemed worse than if she had died. Death was so finite, so official--but the way Rae was now only left uncertainty and helplessness.
The small blonde rested her hand on Joe's chair with a weary, and empty, sigh. "I should go. This is . . . too much."

[Kyla: Disney Town: Festivities]
“Well I...tried but, it’s a bit loud in this crowd, I’m normally not a loud speaker. Plus you’re really fast, and I’m Canadian.”
She doubted he would understand that last part. “-besides. So much has happened. Some friends appreciate personal time to catch up. I know I would’ve. “ she mused with a more laid back tone while watching the race get tight in the last lap- “ if Kairi was just on the street somewhere, I would have given you both some time to catch up uninterrupted. It’s only polite.”
At Sora’s comment to the wager of who would be victorious, Kyla had to nod in agree with him, she could understand it too. The car came up and Kairi immediately took the blow-
More protective, then competitive. As the crowd cheered while the victory lap progressed she chuckled in response to Sora’s comment-
“-heh, it’s not the princess title I admire.”
Did she actually get a chance to talk with Ariel? Or Jasmine? Or Belle? Kyla recalled getting a moment to talk to Mulan- but...that was only a greeting. It seemed this adventure left her very little time to connect with people over all. Thinking like that- Kyla wondered how Maggie was doing.
“mmm..” she scratched the side of her cheek and adjusted her thick glasses. “To be honest, I never got to really talk to any of those people. This job- hasn’t given much time for mingling. Which is a shame; those women were some of my oldest role models.”
Confetti filled the air and landed on their head at times, flowers were thrown into the track. Whether you were 1st place, 2nd or 3rd, the crowd celebrated everyone with gusto.
“- which reminds me how strange this situation is... I was just a lil kid when I first saw any of you. I don’t think I’ve changed much-” she made a face wrinkling her nose and lifted a hand up scaling herself against him, straightening up out of her slouch-“except in height though.” Standing properly, Kyla stood at the same height as Sora- if you ignored the hair!

[Joe: Disney Castle: Rae's Room]
It was unconscious, almost instinct. His hand reached out, gently resting on Noelle's before giving it a gentle squeeze. "If you feel that way, go. Try and have some fun, hm?" His voice was light, attempting to let her know it was okay to leave, she didn't have to force herself to be here.
"I think...I'm going to stay for a bit though." He smiled, just barely. "Not too long though. Got stuff to do. Book to read, chocobo to check up on...probably should check in on everyone, too." He sighed. It seemed like he was already trying to find ways to busy himself to not have to think on the horrible things.
"...Hey. If you need someone to talk to, or something...just...come and find me, okay?" He smiled at Noelle, and it seemed pretty genuine. "A good leader...no not really...a leader thing...a good friend is always here to listen if you need them, alright Nono?" He winced. "Oo, sorry, nicknamed ya." He just hoped she didn't exactly mind the nickname.

[ Noelle ~ Disney Castle ~ Living Quarters]
The agromancer sniffled and laughed a little, "Okay, Jojo."
She squeezed his hand back and bent at the waist to give him a small hug. Noelle knew she had the others to rely on, she just wasn't necessarily good with expressing how she felt. Even on Earth there weren't many people she would talk to about personal matters. It was a detriment to her, but she didn't know how else to do it. The girl pulled away and stood back up, giving Joe one last smile and Rae one last glance, before turning and heading for the door.

{Bobbi, Zell, Red XIII .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fair Grounds .:. Dancing Area}
Bobbi had actually forgotten what it was like to watch someone speaking to their summon for the first time. At least, she assumed that Joe's summon had awakened and was giving the new guy an ear full. If she hadn't had voices in her head prior to being warped into her favorite video game series, her reaction would have probably been pretty similar to his; incredulity mixed with just a tinge of fear for his sanity. Her face tried to grin, but she suppressed most of it, and managed to twist the expression into a sympathetic smirk.
"Voices in your head, Joe?" she asked innocently, though a hint of mockery tinged her voice. She would have continued, but right about then is when Dawn walked up, and Bobbi's face brightened and she threw her arms in the air as her face split into a huge grin. "Dawn! I was wondering where you went! What d'you mean busting your but?" The hyperactive archer faked a look of concern and peered at Dawn's behind, pretending to look for damage. "It don't look so busted to me. The rest of you is busty as ever, though, just not your butt. I'm saying you have big boobs. Hi!"
Zell's gaze kept shifting between Bobbi and Joe with the occasional incredulous look thrown Nanaki's way. Now, anyone who knew him would freely admit that Zell was a little weird, but these Earth kids? He was pretty convinced at this point that not a single one of them was sane. Then again, this was based solely on previous experience with only a few of them; their numbers had seemed to have swelled since they'd split up. He hadn't recognized at least half of the kids up on the dais during the parade.
"Okay, so I know I'm not exactly the sharpest bulb in the box, but what in the worlds is going on here?" he asked. "I got most of what was said in the hangar. Or I think I did. But what's this about voices in your heads? I know Bobbi and Kyla have some Louis guy in their hearts, and let me tell ya that's confusing enough! First Bobbi starts laughing her head off for no reason, now Joe's talking to thin air? Is insanity contagious or something?"

[Dawn : Disney Castle Town : Dancing Area]
"Leave my boobs and butt out of this," Dawn snorted at Bobbi, "You are a dork. Though I am sure you know that."
Dawn rolled her eyes slightly at Bobbi, before looking at new Joe, "Yeaah, not sure if Disney would have alcohol.... but if it helps you get used to the voices. I know for at least one person here who has grown up with multiple voices in her head. Not much of an adjustment there." she said as she made a slight motion at her archer friend.
~'We talking about you or Bobbi here?'~
'Who do you think?'
~'What, I think is that both of you are insane. Or at least crazy. If she has had multiple voices in her head for years, she should of seen a doctor about that. And you are a bad friend for not making sure she got the help she needed long ago. Only a heartless and cold friend.'~
"Oh be quiet, Garuda!" Dawn said sounding extremely annoyed, "Damn if I didn't know any better I would say I got stuck with Shiva, seeing how cold you are. Gah!

{James : Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone -> Fairgrounds}
The corsair remained silent once again listening intently to what Master Yen Sid had to say, listening as the wizard spoke of Sora being able to resist the darkness during the end of their confrontation with Anima, mentioning Sora's lack of skill with the darkness before inquiring with Riku if he had been training the new keyblade master. The wizard's words then turned back to the corsair as he told him what he sought, to control himself. To fully and truly know himself, both his light and his darkness. As had always been said though, knowing was only half of the battle. The corsair had to accept it, for him, that was definitely no small task, but if he truly wanted to remain in control of himself, he had no choice. The wizard's words had once again given the corsair much to think about, but more importantly than that, had given him a course, and a challenge.
"I understand, and I will do my best. Thank you for your time Master Yen Sid," the corsair stated with a slight bow of his head out of respect, even though the wizard's eyes were once again on the cornerstone.
The corsair turned and walked away, heading through the portal that lead to the fairgrounds, clearly deep in thought and not sure what to do now. Perhaps he would find Michelle to talk to her about what he had learned, or who knew, he might run into someone else.
'So Ajora was able to take control of me on the Dutchman because of my own weakness, my own unwillingness to accept my darkness,' the corsair thought as he walked through the crowded streets, not really sure where he was headed.
"I would not look at it as weakness, if it were easy then there wouldn't be any villains, No one would lose themselves to the darkness, you had a hard time understanding the nature of it when you were growing up, it is understandable you are still struggling with it," Fenrir stated calmly.
'I have long since accepted the fact that the Kuro Oni in my nightmares was nothing but a mental manifestation of my own darkness. As Master Yen Sid stated though, understanding that and accepting it are two entirely different things. Accepting that I would be capable of the terrible things that he and I have done in those nightmares... is no easy task,' the corsair concluded.
"Remember though, dreams are nothing more than reality viewed through a filter, and one that seriously distorts it at that. I do not think that you would truly be capable of such deeds."

[ Sora : Disney Town : Festivities ]
"You think that's weird?" he said, chuckling. "Imagine being in my shoes."
"You guys know pretty much everything about our journeys. You talk about us in hushed whispers half the time you're around us, like we're legends from history," he started. He didn't seem upset or offended, by any means; mostly just amused. "The other half of the time, it's like you expect us to give out some deep wisdom... when you're all years older than us!"
He laughed a bit, though whether from his own remark or from Mickey and Kairi goofing off in the victory lap, none could say. They were heading to the set-up line now to get out.
"Heck, you guys are mostly adults. I'm barely 17. If it weren't for Xehanort, I'd still be in high school, you know?" he continued, though the question was rhetorical. "And yet we're like some respected heroes or something. Talk about backwards, right?"
He shrugged. Then, he scratched his head, looking a bit sheepish. "You guys, uh... you didn't see us go to the bathroom or anything, right? That'd be kind of embarrassing..."

"Hey, I wasn't that tiny!" Yuffie protested, stamping one foot and pouting. She crossed her arms and turned away, lifting her chin in the air and sniffing in disdain. "Besides, you can hardly call me tiny now. I'm a grown woman, after all! And I think I've filled out quite nicely, thank you very much."

[Kyla: Disney Town: Festivities]
“Well I hope it didn’t trouble you guys too much. Personally, I think everyone was also worried that divulging the fact we knew about your lives would make you feel uncomfortable around us. I mean... it is personal stuff, it’s your lives after all. We got to see you all at your best... and worst.”
Kyla seemed to think about what Sora said and a thought came to her- “You know, I’m reminded by something I was always told by people older than me-.. ‘age is just a number.’ I’m starting to understand what they mean now. In your case Sora, while you are younger than us, many cultures consider the milestone of adulthood not to be determined by years- but by experience.”
“A famous quote from our world goes- ‘The body grows slowly and steadily but the soul grows by leaps and bounds. It may come to its full stature in an hour.’- you left your home Sora, you Riku and Kairi, went out into the world and shouldered responsibilities not many grown men have to face. A common milestone in many cultures to signify adulthood is the time in which one stops concerning themselves soley with their own affairs, and start concerning those around them. People can grow up and dare to marry and have children, but – some of the most immature people I’ve met in equal value are 3 feet, or 6 feet tall, some eclipsing my age three times over.”
She stretched her arms up, feeling a satisfying pop somewhere before letting them fall down.
“It is possible that it’s not deep wisdom we expect from you, but rather the knowledge you gained by leaving your home behind. Our home wasn’t perfect… one of the most prevalent things that plagued certain circles of our society was a stagnation of the mind and heart. People met a certain threshold of maturity and never grew beyond it.”
“ Imagine being stuck in that chamber you were put in,” she was referring to the chamber Namine put him in “- for more than half your life and suddenly waking up and realizing you’re over 10 years older but the last thing you remember was being 13 and blinking- suddenly…”
She trailed off, her eyes went far away and though the topic seemed melancholy she didn’t look sad or upset- in fact she looked... Relieved, happy even? “- life suddenly began. You’re life finally started after all that waiting. I’m sure a few of us here, are finally going things that adults would be doing, for the first time in our lives.” She smiled outright now, eyes warm, taking in the sights of the crowd, Kairi and Mickey waving thier amr sin the air at fans. People cheering, they seeme dveyr happy their king was back home safe- the music and laughter was compeltly overwhelming at times-
“We carry an accumulation of years in our bodies, and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are innocent and shy as magnolias.”
She hummed crossing her arms before smirking-
“ -and - … No we did not see you go to the bathroom… though- there was that moment with the clothes, and the Three fairies not being able to decide on its color. And the time you didn’t figure out Mulan was a girl- among other things. But no, nothing..err.. creepy.”
“Though it does beg the question. It’s no secret that everyone from Earth really likes you guys. But there is a sense in which some of us feel like we’re intruding into your lives by being here. Worst case scenario you think we’re a bunch of fans wanting to be real close with someone they idolize- but that’s not the case here... I’m sure of it. While I have no doubt everyone’s feelings are genuine in that they want to know you as people now and be friends, like anyone else- how do you think you feel about that? Does this knowledge that we sort of have an unfair insight to your lives take away from the validity of our feelings towards you?”
Just then she realized… she’d been talking huuuuuuuuuuuuge circles around SORA? Sora of all people! Sora- as far as she knew, was a simple guy. Complicated monologues of the heart didn’t always make sense to him, but that was ok. At the same time, this wasn’t like the games, Sora was a real person, maybe he was a deep guy and just wasn’t good at showing it.
“-errr… sorry I tend to go off on a philosophical tangent a lot. I like to think about- lots of things. Everything.” She grimaced but tried to keep smiling- “warn me if I go off like that again.”

[ Sora : Disney Town : Festivities ]
As Kyla talked, and he listened, he also watched the racers line up and get out of their carts after aligning them properly at the starting line. He saw Mickey and Kairi take their small prizes and beginning to walk into the crowd--briefly, his eyes locked with Kairi's, and they waved to one another.
All the while, Kyla went on. It was easy enough to understand; he'd sort of said the same thing, but backwards, after all, about he and Riku being their guides. It was still a weird experience; understandable, but weird.
Kairi turned to face Mickey, pointing their way; briefly, he saw the mouse jump up and wave at them, and the two were jogging through the crowd to meet them. Sora initially readied to run after them, buuuut Kyla was still talking--he couldn't be rude to his elder.
It was a bit of a relief that they hadn't seen the bathroom breaks or anything. That would have been pretty weird. The fairies, the "seeing at their worst," that didn't bother him so much as his actual privacy.
"Eh?" he said, noticing a moment late that she'd actually asked him something in the flood of flowery monologue. "Oh, nah, I don't really care all that much. It's like you're all little brothers and sisters, really. And don't worry, you've done it a few times while I've been around, so I'm used to it."
"Hey there!" Kairi yelled, finally getting over to them, Mickey hopping along energetically alongside her. "Did you see that?!"
"Yeah, you almost had it, Kairi!" he said, grinning before playfully jabbing her shoulder. "Almost."
"Yeah, well, that other guy was trying to butt in," she huffed, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms in mock frustration before smiling. She turned to give Mickey a playful gaze. "If it had been just the two of us, I'd have beat you."
"Hya-ha, maybe next time," Mickey said, grinning as well before turning to Sora, who was still grinning ear to ear. "So, whatcha been up to, Sora?"
"Long story. Helped one of the earth guys. Watched his heart explode. He's better. But Yen Sid made it official!" he shouted, eyes gleaming proudly.
Kairi and Mickey both raised a brow, tilting their heads momentarily, before it seemed to click simultaneously. Instantly, they were both on him, hugging him and shouting congratulations.
"That's amazing! Finally a master!"
"I knew you could do it, pal! You've always had a good heart!"
"Does Riku know?!"
"What about Donald and Goofy?!"
"Haha, slow down!" he shouted, having been lifted off his feet and spun slightly. After he was finally set back on his feet, he laughed some more. "Yeah, Riku was there, so he knows. I was gonna find Donald and Goofy next, and I was hoping you guys would know where they were?"
"Donald's probably with Daisy near the boardwalk on the other side of the plaza."
"And Goofy's probably hanging around the center of town, mingling around. You know how he is."
"Huh. Probably missed him in the crowd," he said, before suddenly lighting up as he remembered.
"Oh yeah! So Kairi, Mickey, this is Kyla," he said, turning to the side and motioning to her. "Kyla, Kairi and Mickey. She wanted to meet you guys, so you can all chat while I go find those two. She's—"
"One of the people from earth," Kairi said, smiling as both she and Mickey held out a hand to shake. "You were at the end of the parade with the rest of them, right?"
"Alright, I'll be back," he said with a quick wave—and before you knew it, he was gone in the crowd again.

[ Yen Sid ; Riku : Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone ]
Yen Sid nodded as James left, remaining silent.
After James' departure, the portal closed, leaving it as just he and Riku. For awhile, neither said anything, simply staring into the Cornerstone.
"I want you to stay with the travelers, Master Riku," Yen Sid finally said. "There is much about them that remains unanswered. They carry more weight than they know... than we know. Our enemies, on the contrary, seem to be dangerously informed... or curious."
"Agreed," he replied. "Is there anything I should know?"
"Their hearts are strong... remarkably so. Like you or Sora," he explained. "But they have very little control. If the host of Mateus is any evidence... they have the potential to be undeniably dangerous. And already, some of them show tendencies that concern me."
"I'll do my best to watch out for them, master," Riku replied.
