Wut's your gender?
o_o I'm a girl. Why?

Your Dream Avi is male and you're role playing both genders. I was just making sure.

I need to change that. Changed my avvie yesterday from male to female. And what does roleplaying both genders have to do with anything?

Only a quarter of these ODST Avis don't eat a**. Juss sayin'. Also, ODST doesn't stand for "I have big balls". Equal girths can come from marines as well. Liek Sur Ahh Jonsun!
First off, your manner of typing and dialect is a bit of a pain, please tone down a little if you could, as well as your openly insulting nature to the postings. And Johnson wasn't just a regular marine, he was one of the SPARTAN-I's, also known as a member of Project ORION, which lends to why he was immune to The Flood, and for the amount of pure hell he was able to survive alongside the Chief.

Though I must admit, you are correct in saying that Marines can indeed stand up to as much as some ODSTs, but remember ODSTs are also highly trained, highly addicted to their own adrenaline which is why they prefer SOEIV Injection methods as to going down in Pelicans, and for the better part equipped better than your average marine.

Johnson is immune to the Flood because he was exposed to radiation from Plasma grenades, which gave him Boren's Syndrome. This effected his nervous system, thus leaving the Flood unable to infect him. That had nothing to do with the "Spartan-I's"

f**. It's just that I've been here a while and the ODST thing has been glorified to a point where it becomes sickening to my eyes. They're OK but if more players created great characters that didn't need maximum enhancement before beginning, I think role playing would be a lot more interesting.

Actually Sex, that was called the Boren's Spoof, it was a way to give the marines and operatives a way to explain his inability to host the Flood, while not having to elaborate on the SPARTAN-I program, thereby keeping it a secret as they did the abductions and gene manipulation/enhancements given to the SPARTAN-II's. It's all about ONI guarding their asses while keeping their assets in the field.

No, no. That had nothing at all to do with the "Spartan-I" tests, because him getting Boren's Syndrome happened before anyone even knew about the Flood. However, I will admit that on his Halo Wiki page, it states: "However, the Boren’s Syndrome is possibly a fake reason, as to cover up his involvement in the SPARTAN-I Program." So technically, we're both correct, though I don't understand why they would cover up the program with a purely coincidental event.

Don't you know, admitting there was a SPARTAN-I project and admitting the tests they applied to cause these men and women, which coincidentally, gave them immunity to the flood supercells, would be like an open defeat to the spooks at ONI? They value keeping their secrets, and the only reason they let knowledge of the SPARTAN-II Project, but not it's origin, spread was because of the tremendous wins attributed to these men and women, in suits of armor that no other unit in the fields is known to wear, was becoming inspirational in the 'turning' of the war. It was under Admiralty's orders to give those who survived a sense of hope.

The only person that's truly immune to the Flood (that has been brought up so far) is Johnson. There's no proof that the other Spartan-I's were as well. There's no bit of solid evidence that the tests gave him that immunity.

Believe me, there are Ground-Pounders of every rank-and-file in this roleplay, but for as much as people love the marines, they love the volunteer outfit of powerful training and status just as much. I personally want to play as an ODST, but I want to get my current character in gear before I take the test for ODST Operator. I also want to create a character at some point that's Navy and not Marine Corps, but I feel it's best to stick with one or two characters, instead of many, considering how many other projects I'm working on/with.
