:3 I think um... it's my fault because I jump around with things, but Harry did have a stint with alcoholism in the year or two after Gilderoy's accident, and it was very hard to quit it, so comments like that really hurt.

Then again Harry likely explained what happened after gilderoy's accident, that including, but I'm not sure how much Gilderoy would have absorbed.

and then Godfrey's like 'You only said no because I asked dad' and then it's harry's fault for somehow always making things wrong or not being able to shrug off a comment even though Godfrey and Adela know the context behind it and know the comment probably really stung (and stung them as well)

and harry is just tired because they all love Gilderoy and yet no matter how hard they try they can't seem to be able to help Gilderoy at all with his own issues.

SO YOU SEE, THE COMMENT WASNT INTENDED TO BE STINGING AND YET IT WAS. And again it's always the issues of things that happened when gilderoy wasn't there.

It was a vicious circle of hurt and confusion, where it seemed as if Gilderoy was the one being the cause and effect of it all

No doubt one reason Gilderoy had told Godfrey no because he had asked Harry and not him, thus continuing to fuel the cycle of Godfrey's own resentment and dislike towards Harry

both summed the entirety of the situation up nicely. 3nodding

Gilderoy had an inferiority complex feeding his superiority complex (hurr) BEFORE having a family, and I think now that he's trying to weasel his way back in, it's even larger than before. Suddenly he's new and the shoes don't fit like they used to even though everyone else is comfortable and running laps. He feels like an outsider. Problem is, he's indirectly fighting with the people he wants to belong to again.

He absorbed most of it, but it all seems like stories about far away relatives, not his family.

And they all just want to show him they still love him, but both of the children are dealing with Gilderoy's lashing out at Harry in their own ways- Godfrey in turn knows it's not harry's fault and yet comes to that confusing conclusion that it is, that harry isn't trying hard enough even though he knows that's not the case and lashes out as well. Adela knows what's going on behind things but loves Gilderoy too much to say things, though at times the tension inside her gets to be too much. And in turn she clings to harry and tries to offer him a guilty sort of apology for not speaking up by being extra nice to him or trying to be the one to mediate things to get them back to neutral or positive grounds. :3

and lol, godfrey was actually trying to not be grumpy and that's why he asked harry instead of gilderoy, trying to make all the bad feelings go away.

and it seems as if Gilderoy wOULD be better if it were harry breaking down all the time and he could be the strong night in shining armour- and yet harry's experiences, thereapy, learnings have helped him to better deal with his own emotions and problems as well as others. Plus Harry wouldn't be happy faking or breaking down all the time and having to be cheered up like some helpless princess. he doesn't want to be miserable all the time, he just wishes there could be a happy medium where he could be a MAN and yet still be gilderoy's wifey. x3

Well then Gilderoy definitely needs to make some new friends, man. Some people to do things with so he can have his own life and family life because Harry sure does have friends (though I suspect he's seen less of them lately. )
