Hope swallowed, shuffling closer to Shade as she cautiously looked around. "I-it's so s-scary here.." she murmured quietly as she shivered and looked around a little more.

Fayt stood up and sensed a presence nearby gaining speed. "what the heck is that?" he asked himself trying to follow it. "Cmon Zanath we'd better head back" he thought to himself. this isan't a normal demon. its way too strong.

"N-no, th-that's alright, I-I just-" she stopped when she heard a rustling sound, jumping when it was followed by a deep murring sound. Hope hid behind Shade, clutching onto him with her face pressed against his back. "O-okay, I-I want t-to go somewhere else n-now!" she said.
Laughter could be heard somewhere nearby followed by some more rustling. "Oh come now, don't be frightened so easily." a pair a burning purple eyes were easily seen through the dark nearby.

"I'm curious Xavier, why is it that dragons feel the need to torment those smaller than themselves? Oftentimes it doesn't end well." Shade places a protective arm around Hope. "Don't worry. That was just our dragon friend trying to have some fun with a joke that is only funny to him."

"I'm sorry, but I can't let you leave. Not after you have slaughtered all of my scouts. You have just undone hours of work, and I was already sick of this place." The demon rushes ahead to cut him off at the border of the lake. If he gets past that point he cannot be persued.

Hope cautiously opened one eye when she felt Shade's arm around her, hoping that he was right.
Xavier's eyes narrowed as he snorted from nearby and his white tail could be seen pulling into the darkness. "Hmph. Not all dragons, just myself. Would you rather me go ahead and eat someone or just let me play my games?" he asked.
Hope swallowed at the thought of being eaten and shrank down towards Shade, not liking where things were going.

It was Shades turn to be amused. He responds in a cold voice that holds no hint of threat or humor. "Try it, my friend. You won't last long afterwords."

A deep growl came from Xavier as his irritance grew. "My patience is quickly thinning.." he said in a low voice as he stared at the two with narrowed eyes.
Hope made a soft, frightened sound at the growling. She shut her eyes tightly and covered her face with her hands as she shrank down even more.

Shade stares back at Xavier, all humor gone once again. "And I have not regained my patience since the last time you tried to pick a fight. Around here dragons are respected, but don't expect anybody to fear you. We have all seen far to much, and faught too many, to be frightened by a single dragon. No matter how large or powerful he may be. Once again, it would serve you well to hold your arrogance in check and keep this in mind." Turning from Xavier in an obvious dismissal, Shade turns his attention to Hope. "Now, where is it you would like to go?"

Xavier growled again, his gaze turning to Hope: she was so terrified and fragile..he sighed, deciding against pushing the arguement any further. At least not at the moment.
Hope moved her fingers a little so she could peek at Shade, glancing at Xavier briefly. "S-somewhere e-else..?" she asked quietly, still quite frightened.

Hope blinked before slowly uncovering her face. "Th-the lake..?" she asked, tilting her head a little.
"May I come with?" he asked in Hope's ear from right behind her.
Hope jumped, making a soft eeking sound from surprise before resting her hand on her heart as it nearly beat out of her chest. She moved to hide behind Shade again, looking up at him to see if it would be alright for Xavier to join them.

Hope glanced at Xavier for a moment before nodding a little at Shade, straightening up a bit. "A-alright.." she murmured quietly while glancing at Xavier again.
Xavier was in his.."human" form again with his hands clasped behind his back, waiting for the two to lead as he watched them with his intense eyes.
