"Oh," Serenity smiled. "I see."
Sort of.
She yawned - she didn't mean to, but she couldn't help it. "I'm sorry," she apologized, smiling faintly. "I think I should get to sleep ... before I embarrass myself and fall asleep in front of all of you." She laughed softly and held Miyu out to Kara.

Kara giggled taking the confused Miyu from Serenity's hands, "That's okay, it has been a long day for you," she replied with a smile, "And you do need rest I bet."

Serenity smiled and nodded slowly. "Yes," she murmured. "I do ... Good night, everyone, I'll see you in the morning." And with that she offered them all another smile and headed outside. She would sleep on the porch that night ... as a moor cat. Perhaps disguised at Leif, if the brute was gone for the night. Ruel wouldn't throw a fit then, if he didn't know she was there.
Ulani smiled at them all. "Well, I think perhaps we should all call it a night, yes? It's quite late, after all."

"Might as well," Donovan replied as he rose from his seat, making sure to give Kara enough time so she wouldn't fall over, "It's probably past the kiddies bedtimes anyhow."
He was pretty sure of that, though it restrained himself from checking his watch, it probably wasn't accurate anyhow.

Skye had indeed fallen asleep long since, and was sprawled out across ulrich's lap - where Ulani had moved her when she'd gone to get the picture out of the kitchen. Even in sleep, her wings were fluttering gently, and the corners of her mouth were turned up in a seemingly permanent smile.

Kara nodded as she got up balancing Miyu in her arms, "Skye?" she called, "Time for bed."

Ulrich chuckled lightly and picked Skye up, bringing her over to Kara.
"I think she's one step ahead of you," he laughed, holding her out to Kara carefully. "Been sleeping almost since Donovan and I got back."
Ulani smiled. "Well, she did have a busy day ... despite her two naps."

Kara giggled taking Skye with her other arm, "Well, she does tend to use up her energy a lot quicker," she admited.
That and there was so much of Skye that was nearly cat like, down to the purring as it were.

"Well, and she's still so tiny," Ulani added. "Any child that size here would be sleeping more than half the day ... though, of course, she's obviously nothing like the children here." She laughed.
"Aaaanyways," she smiled, "I guess we'll be seeing you in the morning then." She got to her feet and slipped her arm around Ulrich's waist, putting her head on his shoulder. "Anything you need before bed yet?" she offered to her guests.

Donovan shook his head as he took Miyu so Kara wouldn't have her hands full.
"I think we'll be fine," he replied, "Thank you," he really meant it, not in his usual blunt way, but just because they were good people.
Even Donovan could have good manners when it came down to it.

Kara smiled and nodded, now that she could give MIyu to Donovan, she held Skye with both arms, "Don't worry," she replied turing in the direction of their room, "We'll be fine."

She turned to Ulrich and grinned mischievously, though her eyes were serious. "And you," she told him in elvish; "we have to talk."

She tucked the two in the middle, like they had done with Jin the last time they were there. Changing, Kara moved into the bed, watching the two girls happily. Kara closed her eyes, knowing that no one would be without a organic pillow to cuddle.

Ruel and Daeron were gone before the sun rose the next morning. No warning, no explanation - though really none was needed ... just an empty room.
Or not quite.
Sitting on the bedside table was a folded note with a name written on the top: Nara-thel.
Serenity was the one to find the note, just a few minutes past breakfast. She had known that they had gone - how could she not, sleeping out on the front porch? - and come in here to see if there would be anything left from them.
There was. This letter.
Serenity suppressed the temptation to open it and read it, but Daeron had told her a bit of what he had wanted to write. And it wasn't her place.
She tucked it into her pocket, then headed out to see if she could find Kara. Apparently the angel had wanted to go for a walk with her today, to talk ... she was curious to know what about, since of course they had done plenty of talking last night.

Donovan watched the sun rise, partly because there wasn't much else to do, and partly because he knew Kara was getting changed at the moment. He promised to look after the girls, which wasn't unusual. It was strange, he couldn't recall really taking a vacation before, well first time for everything he supposed.
