His wings had slowed him down a bit, but not too much. Haucon stood up and glared at Leila. "I thought you'd jumped." he said sullenly. He brushed himself off and pulled a couple more twigs from his hair. "Don't do that again." he said. "You scared me half to death." He glared up at the open window and drain pipe. "You are such a cheater." he said finally smiling and laughing a bit. "Let's go."

"Cheater? I'm not suicidal." Leila laughed, shoving him gently by the shoulder. "Hmm...I wonder what would happen if I died in this form..." she said nonchalantly as she started to wonder, looking for something that would look familiar. Of course there was no guarantee that they were still there...
"So...why did you get those piercings, anyway? And the smoking?" She had told him enough about herself today; it was her turn to find out more about him.

Esabella stood watching what was going on around her, but not doing anything. It wasn't her business to begin with, and she didn't intend to make it, but she didn't at all mind the free show. It had been ever so long since something had entertained her.

"Why? Do they bother you?" Haucon asked worried. He tried to decide from her voice. "My eyebrow I got done in the Sacred Realm just cause I wanted it. I like it..." he said pleading a bit with his voice. "My lip I got done as a dare, 'cause some of my "friends" heard that a local parlor used iron rings, but they were all too nancy to go and see if it was true." he laughed. "So I said I'd go and I decided my lip might as well have something in it..." He shot her a sideways look. "And as for smoking." he blushed a bit. "Fairies have...er...addictive tendencies, for humans you'd have to smoke a couple to be addicted, for us it's just one...and beside our lungs are different and they don't actually hurt us in the long run." He smiled brightly at the end.

Leila shook her head in response. "I just wanted to know. I've told you more about myself today than you have about you..." She folded her arms behind her back, glancing up at the sky. The clouds had begun to part now, the rain over for the day. The stuffed green cat was not sitting on her head as they walked, flopping to either side now and again.
"Is it...beautiful there, in the Sacred Realm?" she finally asked after a few minutes of silence, looking up at a street sign before turning right at an intersection.

Haucon burst into laughter. "You're kidding right? Just cause it's called Sacred doesn't mean it's all light and joy!" he couldn't stop laughing. "It's much like here actually, just everything is a little cleaner, and smells like magic." he added. "I'm sure there are some parts that are beautiful, can't really imagine Vanessa growing up in my city for instance, but mostly it's like here..." he said smiling at the cat on her head.

Vanessa listened to everyone talk. She backed away when Esabella took over the girl's body. "What was your town like, then?"

"Oh..." Leila lowered her head in shame for a second before returning to looking around at the landmarks. She thought she spotted a familiar store, and it was only when she had passed it that she remembered where she was. Her pace quickened until she was in a full-blown run, turning left again at another intersection.
Just a little further...
Leila skidded to a halt in front of an apartment complex, painted in white with blue trim.
The number....
She entered the gate, glancing back at Haucon. "We're here...." Spying the numbers on the sides of the building, she continued past them to the back area and stopped in front of one of the buildings, where the lights were on. But she could only stand there, not having a plan as to what she should do when she found the house. A lump in her throat caused her to swallow hard.
"This is..."

Haucon wondered why Leila seemed so embarrassed. He followed her twists and turns through alleys and finally onto a more main road. She was running now and he ran along with her. Finally she stopped on the stoop of a blue and white apartment complex. He followed her round back and stood with her. "It's ok." he said taking her hand. "We can peek in a window and then decide if you want to go in." he explained. "Take your time. It's ok." he whispered.
((We are currently at Leila's parent's home, which is a goodly distance from Violet's lodging...))

Leila nodded, but still didn't move. She gripped his hand a bit and chewed on her lip, a worried look on her face. Finally, after what seemed like forever, she slowly made her way over to a window and tip-toed up to look into the high window.
What she saw was a nursery, with a child wriggling inside the crib.
Maybe it's not...
That was when she saw her parents walk in, a bit older now, and pick the baby up, making cooing noises at it.
She felt her heart stop as she lowered herself from the window, her eyes open wide in fright.
A brother...or sister....?
Have they moved on? Forgotten me?
She glanced over at Haucon, her grip tightening even more.

Haucon held her hand. "What is it?" he asked frightened by the look on her face. "What's wrong?" he asked, pulling her into a hug.

"They have another child," she said quickly, sagging against him. A heavy sigh escaped her body as she weakly hugged him back. "It is probably not necessary that I go see them now. I will probably only bring back memories they wish to forget. They seem happy convinced that I am dead forever, and I do not want to ruin that." Leila lifted her head a bit and glanced back at the window. "But...can we wait here until they've gone to bed? I wish to see my sibling." A sad smile crossed her face as a tear hung at the corner of her eye.

"I don't see why you wouldn't want to see them...They loved you, parents all do." Haucon said. "But if you don't think you're ready we can wait." He half-dragged her over to a garbage can and sat down on it with her on his lap. He wiped her tears off with his sleeve. "It's ok." he said stroking her hair. "It'll be ok." he hugged her.
