I think an hour is reasonable. As long as you are doing well in school, getting all your homework and chores done... I don't see why they should care what your hobbies are. I mean, your parents may have had like a coin collecting hobby as a teenager and this is yours. Remind them that you could have worse hobbies and interests. Like doing crack or meth.
In summation: I don't see why it's a problem how much time you spend on Gaia as long as your obligations are fulfilled and you aren't spending an equal amount of time watching TV or something. An hour of Gaia and an hour of TV is too much on a school day. But remind your parents it's your hobby and you love doing it. This generation is all about technology. It's our life.

An hour sounds reasonable to me.
Your parents are just worried, but it sounds to me like there's being overly hard on you.

Foetus In Fetu An hour sounds reasonable to me. Your parents are just worried, but it sounds to me like there's being overly hard on you. they are mad i think its just because i'm talking to people on the iternet rolleyes they hear stories about rapists/***** and then go mental on me gonk >>>it's kinda hard to reason with them, but i'm not giving in because this is one of the few good things i have going for me razz i'm working on half an hour in exchange for half an hour of something else...an hour is never going to happen so this is the best i can get for now crying i've been going on gaia all year and my grades are fine stare

You should tell them that they don't need to worry, because you're trustworthy - you'd never give out personal details or meet up with somebody from the internet without letting them know, and they need to trust you on that. And if they don't trust you, when they have no reason not to, then they're being unreasonable. It's best if you try to be calm about it, though.

Clue, I went through totally the same thing last year. Remember when I was ALWAYS being grounded? Because I thought Gaia was the only way out. But I found out that there ARE better ways to spend your time (no offense guys) bu parents juts HATE seeing their kids sitting indoors all day and not interacting with kids who live around them. A lot of parents like their kids getting involved in physical activities. I showed my parents that I DO have friends by getting my butt off the comp and hanging out with kids. I mean i have so much more fun with life when I am able to SEE the people I am talking to. But then when I come on here I am able to talk to you guys so much NICER I mean I am not fighting with anyone, and my patience is like 10x better. Though I do miss you guys at times, I totally love being able to have plans with people instead of arguing. I mean you don't do much arguing, but I would totally take your parent's advice and maybe limit your time... sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear. sweatdrop

My friend joined track. I'm thinking of he does track next spring that I would join him. I am guilty of spending way to much time on the computer. But I think an hour a day is fair, and you are good at keeping your private information safe. Heck, I don't even know your real name and I have known you for a year.

I play varsity soccer and I am a crew chief in our school's Drama club. But being grounded from your friends is Harsh. When I was limited, the only thing I wasn't grounded from was my friends.
