ANNEKE: Well, in most Scottish/Irish festivals there are all sorts of competitions to be judged. Beer drinking contest. Strength competition, usually done by seeing how far each person can chuck a log or really big rock. Adding powers and abilities could make that quite the entertaining competition. Usually there are live bands and musicians. In both the Scottish and Irish traditions, dance is a very big part of it. Scottish Highland Dancing, Irish Step Dance, both done by the girls AND guys. As you suggested there are often booths and things where people can sell warez and such.

Musical Entertainment - I've said from the start that Lucind should perform a concert. But I'm going to leave approaching her about such a thing, to someone else for personal reasons. Perhaps you Josh, or Maxi or Sun or a combination of all of you could talk to her in the next couple days. So if she accepts she can start preparing her performance?
I would also like to know if any other characters sing IC'ly or play Instruments on a professional level, that would be interested in performing.
Fighting - Kana and Ed both wanted a no fighting thing imposed. YET, for the Levi portion of this event (because it is a combination of Latent AND Levi) I agree that there needs to be some sort of showcase/tourny. However, I will be placing a Geas of Goodwill on all who enter festival and stadium grounds. SO. The ONLY time that fighting will be permitted, is inside a designated ring during whatever kind of match is held. A compromise if you will.
Market - Of course there needs to be a market! But something above and beyond the regular fish and farmers markets that Latent hosts regularly. I already know what I want to do with this. BUT I also need to know what characters IC would like to set up 'stalls' or 'kiosks' and what those venues would be. PLEASE PM ME, DO NOT POST THEM HERE.
Pagent - It's a really good idea. But at the same time it scares me because I anticipate a severe headache trying to orchestrate such a thing. I don't want it to be a popularity contest and as Aki said, all the characters are gorgeous. As for it being sexist, I'm not worried about that, if it's done with the main category (because I like Josh's suggestion of there being multiple categories) of 'Miss Levithian'. It's just a poster-girl type representation like any Miss USA or Miss Universe or whatever type thing. in fact, It would be cool if 'Miss Leviathan' actually had duties, like an appearance at HoH and some charity work or something. Pagent is a GO. START SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS, IN THIS THREAD. NOMINEES MAY ACCEPT OR DECLINE. REMEMBER THAT NOMINATIONS ARE IC NOT OOC. Also, you can not nominate yourself. I will also put a limit of one character per person. So that those of us who control a harem full of beautiful babes, Only one can be in the pagent. It is up each person to select which character they want to participate, IF they have more than one nominated.
Other Contests - BOOOOOZE And PIES or something to that effect. I know the taps will be flowing with booze aplenty, I don't know if I want a drinking contest, since it'd be hard to IC'ly judge. I mean... all these humanoids and meta-humans or whatever and their crazy metabolisms, it could get into a NO I HAS HIGHER TOLERENZ. Dun wanna' deal with that. But a pie eating contest or something like that might be funny. Still open to suggestions/comments on this subject ^_^
Auction - LoL 'kay. Again, start submitting IC names for nomination. There will be two categories. Male and Female. A limit of two names per person, they can be male/female, male/male, female/female. But no more than two of your characters can participate. Nominees can decline. AND you can nominate yourself for this category. Perhaps a fraction of the winning bid will go to the person who was just 'sold' and the rest can go into the HoH prize pot? OR to fund prizes for other events in the festival.
Artists - Want to Volunteer your skills for a portrait prize for one of the contests or something? Post here what you'd like to contribute. ALSO. There will be an Art Contest. The Subject is LEVIATHAN STADIUM. Voting will be open to all Levites, to pick the picture that they think best represents this guild (from an IC aspect.) I will post a deadline for signing up later, as well as a deadline for submissions. As well as what the prize will be. I think, If Ed, Enki and everyone else on the Council agrees, that the winning picture should be featured on the homepage in some way.
PRIZES - Suggestions, Donations?
Talent Show - I like this idea muchly. I will consider it further, but I think it's safe to say it will be incorporated =D
Tests of Strength/Endurance - LEVI ARM WRESTLING. What? It would be hilarious. Weight classes should probably apply... but powers make judging things tricky again. So this is just a suggestion atm, I'd like some feedback on it. Other than that, I'm thinking an Obstacle Course >____>
Scavenger Hunt - This idea has merit, and I think I know EXACTLY how I want to do it =D
OTHER - I need lists of IC characters, that actually have ties to Levi. And a list of OOC Names too. Matt, I need all your Leviathan Mythos stuff stat. please PM it to me =D

Ok, Posty Information...
Enki can play a variety of instruments. Flute, Ocarina, Lute, Lyre, Violin, Guitar, Snare and a Bass Drum. And he'd totally be willing to do a little performance.
Enki's also got things he can sell at a kiosk, I'll PM you the info when I send the Mythos stuff.
ON that topic... I've been going through an extremely hard time recently so I haven't gotten around to doing much. Tonight after I finish writing my radio show I'll get on that and do as much as I can in the next two days. Fortunately, I already have a basic background story written and in memory, so that'll help the ball rolling.
That'll all have to be done later tonight because I A) have to write my radio show and B) Have a meet-up with my charity group dto discuss this years events.
ALSO! Alexander Leviathan would be glad to enter the auction. I also wholeheartedly agree that that picture should go on the main page. 3nodding

At request of a list:
My characters that I'd consider associated with Leviathan would be James Black (can play jazz/concert piano), Joshua (can play GUITARSAW), and 'becca (can be a stage decoration). I dunno if I'd throw Angelo in here, since I've been using him more like a glorified NPC, but he can play anything, only he'd never go on stage so it's moot.
On that note, I have no idea who I'd even bring to a festival. I don't think people would forgive me if I passed on any of the first 3. I don't think anyone except me cares about the fourth. xd So I suppose I'll be busy.
Any of them except Joshua would probably be up for auction. Mainly because he's not the type to do that thing, and nobody could really blackmail him into it.
And if anyone nominates 'becca for the pageant I swear to god I'll make her trip and fall off the stage. And it will probably be horrifyingly endearing. stressed That doesn't really sound like a threat, does it?
At other statements:
...I suppose I'm waiting for more people to suggest things? I'd volunteer as an artist but I can't really promise anything since I'm so fickle in that area. I can't really talk to Lulu in your place seeing as I'm not really close with Lulu (to my knowledge).

Instruments wise, John doesn't play any ... yet. Give him oh I say three days and he could learn how to play any two, simultaneously. A week, five at once.
Gotta love a character with multiple personalities all simultaneously active, and with telekinesis.

Let's see... Nominations for the Pageant could be something like...
Sierra, Lucind, Hono, one of Kat's characters, Nedy if she'd accept, Kana, or one of her other characters, and possibly some other Levi girls that want to enter. I'm not sure how many other Levi girls we have. O-O Except maybe Kaym, but she isn't around that much... sweatdrop
EDIT: Also, OBSTACLE COURSE is an AWESOME idea. It needs a WALL though, just for shits n giggles. xd

No special "show" talents, and while pretty, she's not a 'great beauty' no matter how much people insist on it, and she's far too shy to manage a speech in front of an audience, or even show off in front of one. Honestly, she isn't pageant material and she CERTAINLY doesn't need the blow to her confidence when ranking last. Her daughter, Winter, would be a better choice by far, but she'd scoff and tell you to get lost.
HOWEVER! Since Nedy and Winter both support worthy causes, they're up for the auction 3nodding Unfortunately I am excluded from the fun and games of this festival due to time differences and a busy life ("life"...don't make me laugh rolleyes ), but they're up and whoever wins them should PM me if they want to RP the deal.

Okay, okay. We've had some good suggestions and some that apparently everyone's getting excited about. That's a good thing.
Let's hear some more, eh? Or objections. Thought out ones, hopefully. I've already heard a couple of the "well I would never be in a beauty contest so I'm offended that you think other people would" a few times. 's not like it'd ever be that simple anyways.

Alright here's an objection. Exactly how are you guys gonna do even half the s**t IC that you're talking about?
I mean most of it might as well be done OOC or.. it kinda won't make any sense.
Like. Market. Wtf? Auction. Double wtf? Exactly what will be going on that people will actually want to pay attention to that IC?
Talent show? IC? Exactly what kind of talents will be displayed? Touching your tongue to your nose? Because that's probably the only thing everyone's characters can't do. Otherwise it sounds like it'll end up as a "make s**t up" fest.
These contests you guys are talking about. Exactly how will they take place? How would a winner be decided in a contest like.. stone throwing or egg balancing.. or .. arm wrestling or whatever you guys are talking about.
( Please don't say roll dice, because that is worthy of two backhands )

Unless we're actually hearing it in some way OOC.... what's the point? Exactly what is the motivation to pay attention? If I want to read song lyrics I'll just... go read some song lyrics!

Competitive Games/Activities : Unless two people are holding the spot down and fun-rp-ing things and pre-agree to a winner. Otherwise, it's like playing football or soccer, IC. Everybody is as good as everybody else! How do you do it IC without people bullshitting it up? *REIKO EATS PIES RLY FAST AND WINZ!*
Spectator-ish stuff i.e. music : Who will actually pay attention to these types of things IC?

Seriously guys. The way I'm envisioning all this isht going down IC.. it just doesn't make any f'n sense unless it's all staged rp-ing. And staged rp-ing usually leads to a GRAND FINISH.. that I cannot see.
The pageant is the only thing that makes sense and can actually be conducted IC. Though ... seriously... the ceremonies would be boring to read.
It might be that I've been so much into fighting for the past two years that I've given up every bit of rp-er insight and ability but... I don't know man.
I like the idea of you guys having a festival. But well over half the stuff you guys are talking about doing... I equate it to the building of the Tower of Babel. It just isn't gonna work out.
