Smiling at the Nurse once more Dante left the Pokemon Center Apollo trotting happily behind him. As Dante left he didn't notice the dark looks four people were giving to him. Once outside of the Pokemon Center Dante and Apollo headed up to Route 6 figuring that that would be as good as any place to camp out. A few moments into the walk they spotted a small lake. "Lets rest over there." He said softly. Despite this Apollo still heard him and agreed with the place to rest. Clearing a small bit of land Dante sat down on the ground facing the water. Feeling as if he needed to clear his mind he dug through his pack and pulled out his pack of cigarettes and lighter. Carefully lighting it he watched the sun set over the water. Apollo standing next to him gave him a small glance when he smelled the smoke before turning his attention back to the water and sunset.
Both of them watched the sun set until it became dark around them in silence. It was a rare moment of peace with no trainers around and no pokemon around looking for a battle. What they didn't know was that this would be the last moment of peace that they would have for a long time to come.

Keegan didn't really know what to say to the girl as she pulled him along, although he did recognize the feeling of having one's arm practically ripped off. A slight blush crept into his cheeks as he recalled how Kasiya had dragged him halfway across Lavender Town in the same manner, but that had been different. He'd been dragged willingly then. "So, uh, what's your name, uh, Miss?" he said, adding the 'Miss' on at the end as an after thought.
The girl giggled. "My name's Sheena," she nodded, looking up at him with shining eyes. "And what is your name, Mr. Very-tough-trainer?"
"I'm not that tough," Keegan objected, yanking his arm free. He was a little frightened by Sheena's sudden attitude change. At first she'd been shy, quiet and reserved, but now she was acting like an over-the-top giggling schoolgirl. "I'm Keegan," he said finally, moving his arm away as she tried to grab it again. "Stop that," he told her firmly.
"What? It's proper manners to escort a lady," Sheena replied matter-of-factly. "Are you not a proper gentleman?"
"Evidently not," Keegan retorted, quickening his pace as the Pokemon Center came into view. Artemis, who'd been flying overhead and laughing at her trainer the entire time was recalled.
Keegan had to admit something, though. This really was a far cry from how his last few battles with girls had ended. But on the upside, at least this one wasn't crying. He didn't check to see if Sheena followed him inside as he stepped through the sliding glass doors. Apparently she had, because as he handed over the Poke Balls that contained Themis, Althena and the unnamed Geodude, his overbearing companion did the same. "Please heal my Windy and Fluffy," she said sweetly. "We were just beaten to a pulp by that big, tough trainer right there. Keegan felt his cheeks go scarlet as the girl pointed up at him. "But it's okay, though, 'cause we're friends now!"
"We... are?" Keegan blinked, taking a step back. It wasn't often that it happened, but for once in his life, Keegan was a little scared just now.

By now, Miharu and Starrie had made it approximately halfway through Union Cave. The trip had been rather uneventful thus far, their only encounters being a few startled Zubat and the occasional Rattata scurrying across the floor for cover. Now that she had a light source, however, Miharu was able to see a lot more of the cave, including the edge of a small lake she'd nearly stumbled into last time. For fun, she urged Starrie to jump into the water, keeping its Flash going while it swam around. Miharu watched in wonder the underwater spectacle Starrie was allowing her to see - there were Magikarp, Krabby, Horsea and several other water types swimming around in the shallow water. Once Starrie had had his fill of the water, he resumed his place as Miharu's 'headlight', once again lighting the way for the girl to see.
"Woo-pah," came a soft cry from nearby, after they'd been riding for a few minutes. Miharu stopped the bike, listening intently for the sound again. "Woo-pah-pah," she heard again, and she looked around eagerly for the source of the cry. Starrie waved its pointed appendages, causing Miharu to look to the side. A small, pale blue Wooper was looking up at her, crying softly.
"You poor thing, what's wrong?" Miharu asked, dismounting her bike to chat with the little one. It seemed much smaller than the Wooper she'd met before, and she could only assume this one was a baby. "Did you lose your mama?" she asked, and the small Wooper nodded. "Aww, I'm so sorry," she said quietly, reaching out and picking it up. "We'll help you find her," she said soothingly, and this promise seemed to be enough to quell the young Wooper's cries for now. Setting the baby on her shoulder, Miharu and Starrie continued to ride along, wondering where the little one's mother could be.

After the sunset Dante decided that it would be best if he just went to bed then and got an early start in the morning. Bidding good night to Apollo, who was munching on some grass nearby. He used his arm for a pillow and wrapped his long jacket around him to keep warm and drifted off to sleep fairly quickly. It was around two am when he felt something nudging him. Groaning slightly he did his best to ignore it. However it didn't, the nudging became a bit harder and more urgent. Making an irritated sound Dante woke up crankily looking back over his shoulder to see who was nudging him. "Wah-Kenny? What are you doing out of your pokeball." He said sitting up and looking at the small ghost in front of him.
Kenny for his part only stared at him for a moment before waving his hands around and making his muffled speech. Dante only stared at him sleepily for a moment. "I can't understand what you are trying to say Kenny." The small ghost finally got fed up and pointed behind Dante. Looking back Dante saw a strange sight, one that, once he figured it out, made all traces of sleep leave his mind.
Behind him he could see four silhouettes of that were running away from where his bag was open. The fact that someone was stealing from him was bad enough, the thing that was worse though was that Apollo could not been seen. It seemed that whoever had rooted through his bag had taken whatever that was in there, but also Apollo's Safari Ball and the pony itself. Growling an angry look on his face again Dante jumped up and grabbing his stuff, quickly stuffing the stuff on the ground back in, and gave chase to the thieves. Behind him Kenny floated as fast as he could to keep up with his trainer.

Sheena laughed at him. "Of course we're friends, Silly-pants! It's like the unwritten code of the trainer! We battle, we make friends! It's really quite simple."
"...I must have missed the memo," Keegan said in disbelief. He turned back to the front desk, drumming his fingertips on the counter. The nurse could have brought his Pokemon back to him yesterday and it still wouldn't have been quick enough. He closed his eyes and sighed heavily.
"What's the matter, Keegan?" Sheena asked naively. "Are you upset or something?"
Keegan opened one eye and looked at the girl, really taking in her appearance for the first time since he'd challenged her to battle. Her eyes were big, and a bright blue hue, and her hair was done up in two high pigtails that sat up above her ears, and was bubblegum pink. "You seemed really shy before," he told her, standing up to his full height and looking down at her. "But now you won't stop talking. What's up with that?"
"I dunno," the girl replied earnestly. "Sometimes when I meet people I get really shy and don't know what to say to them, but then sometimes I meet people I don't feel like that at all! It's almost like we connected somehow. Do you think we connected?" she asked, talking unbelievably fast.
"Huh?" Keegan blinked again, staring incredulously at Sheena. In some ways she reminded him of Kasiya, if she'd just consumed two pounds of sugar. "I don't even know you. How could we connect?" he snapped.
Sheena had opened her mouth to say something but stopped as the nurse brought them back their Pokemon. "They're good as new," the sweet woman said, handing Sheena her Poke Balls first. "Why were your Psyduck and Geodude covered in mud?" she asked, looking curiously at Keegan.
Keegan could think of nothing to say, mostly because two pairs of eyes were staring at him, waiting for him to say something. "Uh," he started, which caused both females to inch a bit closer to him. "Because I'm a boy! And boys like to play in the mud! It's common knowledge!" he shouted suddenly, causing everyone in the Pokemon Center to look at him. "And we boys are also incredibly gross, oh! And perverted, too!" With that final statement, he snatched his three Pokemon and dashed out of the Pokemon Center in a hurry.
"Another place I won't be able to show my face in for about ten years," the boy sighed, glad to be alone again. He put the three Poke Balls into their places, and looked around. "Now let's try this again, maybe that Geodude will actually want to learn Rock Smash."
"Why are you talking to yourself?"

"Flash!" Kasiya yelled angrily, but the Jolteon refused to pay even the slighest bit of attention. Hiro snickered slightly; knowing this probably wouldn't end well for the Jolteon. Adamantine chose not to care; the warmth of Hiro's fur was enough to let her drift off into a peaceful doze.
"Charmeleon! Stop it!" Kyle was having the same trouble, and eventually, the two trainers decided to just let their Pokemon brawl it out to the bitter end.
Flash and the Charmeleon were squaring off again, about seven feet from one another. Flash's ears were flat against his head, and he snarled angrily at the orange lizard. The Charmeleon had his fangs bared and claws ready, a low growl was rumbling from his throat. "I hate you on principal," the Jolteon growled through clenched teeth, which seemed to only rile up the fire lizard even more.
"You'd better hope I don't get my claws into you, you overgrown pin-cushion!" Charmeleon sneered back. Its tail flame was glowing brightly.
"That's if you can catch me," The overconfident Jolteon jeered. "You couldn't outrun a Slowpoke!"
"Oh, that's it! It's on, Spike-face!"
"Skitty's first, Volcano-breath!"
With that, the two leapt at each other. Charmeleon's claws were outstretched, ready to tear into the cocky Jolteon. Flash rolled to the side, barely avoiding the Scratch attack and launched a Thundershock, most of which missed its target. Both Pokemon were fast, but Flash was faster, getting to his feet and bashing his head into the equally boastful Charmeleon's stomach. Before the Fire-type could recover, Flash had zipped out of reach, and was charging up for another Thunderbolt attack. "Oh no you don't!" Charmeleon roared, and loosed a fierce Ember attack that singed Flash's golden yellow fur, leaving painful looking burns on various parts of his body.

"SWEET MOTHER OF TORKOAL!" Keegan shrieked, stumbling forward and falling face-first on the ground. He rolled over onto his back, and glared up at Sheena, who was doubled over in a fit of giggles.
"You're so silly," she managed between giggles.
"Do you always sneak up on people and scare the living daylights out of them?" Keegan shot back.
"No," she answered truthfully. "Do you always stand around talking to yourself? Are you sick or something?"
Keegan grumbled as he picked himself up off the ground, dusting the dirt from his clothing while he tried to calm himself. "Not usually," he replied through clenched teeth.
"So what do you need Rock Smash for, so you can get past those boulders up on Route 111? Does that mean you beat Wattson? Can I see your badge? What Pokemon did he use? Do you think I could beat him?" she asked, a seemingly unending number of questions streaming from her mouth.
Keegan rolled his eyes. "Do you ever stop talking?" Sheena smiled cutely and shook her head. He sighed, thinking carefully about the questions she'd just asked. "Yes. Yes. No. Magnemite and Manectric. Most likely," he answered, watching Sheena's eyes light up at the last one.
"Really? You really think I could beat Wattson someday?" she asked excitedly, bouncing up and down.
"Sure, why not?" Keegan shrugged. "I beat him, I'm sure you could too. It's not that big of a deal."
"Oh wow Keegan! Not only are you strong, but you're nice too!" She threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist.
"Oh geez," Keegan sighed, prying the small girl off of him. "Look, I'm really not that nice, and I've got to go now. So why don't you be a good little girl and do some training before you take on Wattson?" He gave a slight wave and began to walk away.
"Oh, I'm not collecting gym badges," she replied, giggling. "I'm out collecting cute Pokemon."
Keegan stopped, and turned to stare at her. "Then why did you ask if I thought you could beat him!?"
"I just wanted to know what you thought," she giggled, running up to meet him and grabbing his arm once more. "So, where are we headed?"

"We are not going anywhere. I am going back home to Lavaridge Town, because the next gym for me to challenge happens to be Flannery's."
"Ooh, Lavaridge Town!" gushed Sheena. "I've never been there before! Is it nice there? I've read about the hot springs, they're supposed to be wonderful."
"They are," Keegan sighed.
"I've heard about Flannery too! She's supposed to be really strong and really pretty," the hyperactive girl went on.
"I suppose, if you're into redheads," Keegan replied listlessly.
"Hey, wait! You said back home! Does that mean you live in Lavaridge?" she asked excitedly.
"Yes."
"That's so cool! Wanna know where I come from?"
"Not particularly, but you're going to tell me anyways."
"I was born and raised in Lilycove," she told him proudly. "It's a beautiful city on the water! We have a huuuge contest hall there, and an art museum, and there's also a port! You can go to all sorts of places from there, even to other regions, like Johto and Kanto! Me and my sister went to Vermilion once, and she told me that there were gigantic octopus Pokemon that lived in the harbor, and from time to time they would rise up out of the sea and..."
Keegan tuned her out after about five minutes; although the girl's constant yammering was helping the walk to go by quicker. Before long, they'd entered Route 111, and Keegan wasn't surprised to see the place looked exactly the same as it had before.
"...don't think there really are Pokemon like that. I mean, things like that just don't come out of nowhere and swallow a whole city!" she paused for a wondrous moment, something Keegan hadn't thought she was capable of. "Heeey, we're here! It's time for Rock Smashing!" she giggled excitedly, bouncing up and down again.
"You are incredibly annoying. But you already know that, don't you?" Keegan told her, digging through his bag for the TM case once more.
Sheena put her hands on her hips and grinned at him. "My sister says that when boys make fun of girls, it's their way of showing affection."
Keegan groaned inwardly, and chose to ignore her again as he took out the light brown disc, readying the Geodude's Poke Ball in his other hand. "Stand back," he told Sheena. "This Pokemon's a bit on the wild side." He released the newest addition to the party, and the Geodude looked up at him, raising her powerful arms over her head...

Chasing after the thieves Dante ran as fast as he could quickly catching up with them. They seemed to realize that they were being chased and did there best to lose him. The thieves did the best evasive maneuvers that they could going serpentine before they were caught. That appeared to be there mistake seeing as Dante didn’t Zigzag with them. Instead Dante just went straight and tackled one of them to the ground. “You! Tell me what the hell you were doing in my bag! And where the hell is my Ponyta!” He demanded angrily grabbing the kids shirt and lifting it up and bringing him closer to his angry face.
The kid who hadn’t exactly expected to be tackled to the ground looked up at the angry face of the trainer above him. “I-I-I don’t have it! I swear!”
“Well then if you don’t have him then you can tell me what the hell you were doing in my bag?” He demanded still angry at the fact that some one had even tried to steal from him. Let alone took Apollo from him, this kid, whether he had his pokemon or not was not going to get away that easily.

...And she yawned loudly, and stretched, her rocky hide making groaning noises as she moved. The Geodude then scratched her side, looking up at Keegan curiously as she hovered on the spot.
"Ooh, it's wild all right. Look out for that one! Worse than herd of stampeding Tauros," Sheena said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Keegan actually grinned at that comment; it was something he would have said. "That's funny," he said, a bit perplexed. "She was freaking out on us earlier, throwing rocks and everything. "Now she seems to be rather..."
"...dull and boring?" suggested Sheena.
"Relaxed," Keegan corrected her, kneeling down in front of the rock type. "I guess you aren't so uppity after all." The Geodude yawned again, looking up at Keegan expectantly. "I guess I should give you a name, thought. Only, I've never named a rock before. Any ideas?" he turned to Sheena, almost regretting to ask her.
Sheena furrowed her brow in thought, looking at the Geodude intently. "It's a rock and ground type, right?" she asked. Keegan shrugged. "You should give her a nice earthy name, like Gaea or Tierra or Bhuma or.."
"Wait, what was that last one? Before Buu-ma."
"Oh, um, Tierra?" Sheena smiled. "It's a nice name, it means Earth."
"I like it, it's perfect," he grinned, turning to the Geodude. "How do you like the name Tierra?" The rock Pokemon shrugged, and then nodded, not really looking like she cared one way or the other. "Great then. Uh, thanks, Sheena."
"You're welcome," the girl beamed, hands clasped behind her back.

Keegan held out the brown disc for Tierra to see. She looked at it for a moment, but did nothing. "This is Rock Smash," Keegan told her. "It will allow you to shatter boulders effortlessly."
"Duuude," she replied, and closed her eyes, willing to accept the move. Keegan shrugged and placed it on her head, careful not to scratch it. Tierra nodded slowly, understanding exactly where to hit a boulder in order to break it apart completely. She also had a good idea of how to apply that technique in battle, and how to get past an opponent's defenses. She gave Keegan a thumbs-up, signifying that she'd learned it.
"Great then, let's give it a try," Keegan said enthusiastically, putting the disc away again. Tierra did not share said enthusiasm, and looked at the pile of rocks lazily. Keegan stepped back, and Sheena did the same, both watching intently as the Geodude glanced over the largest of boulders, then reared back before sending both fists into the center of the rock, causing a large crack to split it down the middle. She repeated the move, and on the second strike caused the rock to shatter into pieces, sending debris flying in all directions. "Watch out," Keegan said firmly, grabbing Sheena by the arm and pulling her close to him as a large chunk of rock sailed through the spot she'd just been standing.
"Ooh, my hero," she giggled, clinging tightly to him. "You saved me from certain doom!"
"It's nothing like that," Keegan sighed, rubbing his temples with his thumb and index finger on his free hand. "I just don't think you would have looked very nice with a bloody nose. Now get off of me," he grunted, wrenching his arm free once more.
"That's awfully nice of you," she giggled. "You really are a gentleman, deep down inside."
"I am not a nice person," he told her.
"You keep telling yourself that," she giggled, and stepped through the newly formed path. "Let's get going! Lavaridge lies in wait!" she cheered, running off ahead.
"I am not a nice person," he repeated, thanking Tierra and recalling her for the time being. He sighed, watching Sheena in the distance. If anything, the next portion of his trip wouldn't be boring.

Where was the Pokemon Center? This town does have a Pokemon Center, right? thought Akane. What am I going to do about Twinkers if there isn't one?
The town wasn't big. Just like Merle had said, the place really was a flyspeck backwater town, gorgeous and full of gardens, but still a quiet backwater town. But there must be somewhere Twinkers could be healed. Calming down and thinking about things rationally, Akane reasoned that Professor Oaks lab would be able to help. And she did want to go there and learn whet she could about her little Cleffa.
It didn't take long for Akane to spot what was most likely the lab - up many stone steps on a nearby hill was a large mansion, a windmill prominently attached to it .... but all those steps ... Akane made a deep sigh and began to trudge up the stairs.

Flash let out a howl, he'd never suffered a burn before. He glanced down at his singed fur, and roared out in anger. "You're gonna pay for that!" he howled, loosing the Thunderbolt he'd charged up before he was blasted by the Ember.
"Not again!" the Charmeleon wailed, electricity engulfing his body. The crackling died down, and the lizard could feel his joints locking up, his movements stiff and staggered. "Argh! Can't...move!"
Flash snickered, walking slowly towards the fire lizard. Even though he was burned, at least he could still move freely. The Jolteon bolted forward, throwing himself into a tackle, which barreled the two over once again.

Train smiled and called her Pikachu. Pikachu came running back to her and jumped on Train's shoulder. Train put her hands in her pockets and said, "Well, see ya. I'm heading to..." Train pulled her new map out of her backpack and opened it, checking to see what the next town was called. "Mt. Moon, the Cerulean!" She said at last. Then she turned and walked out, waving with the back of her hand to the rock pokemon gym leader.
Train stepped out of the gym into the sunlight. She smiled as she thought of how nice Brock had been, then she walked out of Pewter City and walked along the path to Mt. Moon. As she neared the giant rock path, she stopped and stared at it in slight awe. It was bigger than she had suspected, and a bit darker, too. But Train wasn't afraid, and by the looks of it, neither was Pikachu. So she stepped into the cave, and was greeted by a loud screech. A Zubat.

"Oh, crap," Krystal said, looking to her contender. "This is just what I need-- Son of a female Snubbull!!!" Krystal screamed, rocketing off to the side as Kingra blasted a powerful Ice Beam at the Dragon Pokemon. While the attack would not have been fatal, it most certainly would have harmed Krystal due to her weakness to Ice-type moves.
As a retaliation attempt, Krystal spiraled around in circles at a blinding speed. The wind began to pick up immensely, and twigs and small rocks were picked up by the current that was being generated. Eventually, Krystal released the Twister upon Kingdra. However, Kingdra was able to dodge the attack with no consequence, by performing a Dive attack. He dove toward the ground, and as his body impacted the soil, a small area of deep water had manifested, allowing him to take refuge as the Twister passed by over him.
Krystal stared in awe for a moment, at where the other Dragon Pokemon had just recently been. He's smart, she thought, feeling a bit nervous. She shot upwards in the sky before Kingdra popped up from his hiding place.
She looked down at him, watching his movements carefully.
