Remmy smiled. "That sounds interesting, I've never been to an art show or looked at anything on a webcam either. Seems like it will be interesting."

::smiles, she'd been worried he'd laugh at it:: Ok, I'm gonna go get ready then. ::seriously excited:: You can dress up too if you want, in the front closet is some of my dad's old clothes, they should fit. ::goes into her room to prepare::

Remmy shrugged, deciding he'd just get some relatively decent clothes and sit off in the background. He wouldn't admit it to her but he was sort of shy. He ended up in a nice navy blue sweater and black slacks which were comfortable and functional.

::she's in her bedroom for going on an hour and a half when she finally comes out. She's wearing a floorlength gown that has a wide swath of flowers embroidered over sheer material, covering her chest, wrapping around her back, circling her torso, and making a wide swirl around so the bottom is all the embroidered flowers, about six inches above the hemline. The bits that are flowers are completely opaque, while the sheer material is extremely sheer, and he can see her stomach and legs. On most anybody else this dress would look extremely outrageous and skanky, but somehow she makes it look classy and refined. Her hair is pulled back into a half french twist, the rest of it trails out of the middle of it in a fall of curls. Her make-up is rather demure, to offset the dress, and she's wearing a necklace that looks like a silver and diamond vine draped over her collarbone. On her wrists are matching bracelets, and she has simple diamond stud earrings in. When she said dress-up, she wasn't kidding. She smiles when she sees him:: You look great!

Remmy couldn't speak for quite a long time, just blinking and staring at her for awhile. "Um, thank you, you look, well, wow." he said quietly.

::blushes and smiles:: thank you. ::she hadn't bothered with shoes. she never wears them, so she doesnt buy ones to match her dresses. she goes and hooks up her laptop to the television and goes to the website. It's early yet, so no one has arrived, but all the tables are covered with food and her paintings are displayed all around:: I almost forgot! ::jumps up and goes into the kitchen, rummaging around, she comes out with a silver platter with a scattering of cheese poked through with toothpicks, and a bottle of champagne, and two glasses:: it's the only time I ever drink. . . ::suddenly shy:: I don't know if you're allowed to, though. Are you? ::setting everything up on the coffee table and lowering the lights so they can see the television better::

Remmy nodded. "I'm pretty sure we are, a few of the other goddesses I know are avid drinkers, though I don't drink much either. It looks like it's going to be a nice evening though." he said thoughtfully.

::smiles happily:: me too. My parents and I did this when they were alive. We'd all dress up and watch the shows. I've kept up with it, though I haven't watched with anybody for the past 6 shows. ::points to the screen as an elderly, well dressed couple comes in:: They are the Marks. They've come to every show I've had. I like them. They take their time and look at each painting. They notice all the tineyst details, so I've started putting things in every painting for them to find. ::staring at the screen, smiling as they walk up to a painting that has a microphone next to it. They can hear the couple talking about it, though it seems as if they don't know someone's listening:: I told the gallery manager not to tell people about the cameras and microphones. I like to hear people's honest opinions.

Remmy smiled and chuckled. "You know, that's kind of cool, and honestly a little cute. Have the Marks ever bought any of your paintings?" he asked. If they paid so close attention they must have bought at least one thing right?

They buy one at every show. I'm betting they buy that one. ::points to a picture of an elegant looking woman in victorian dress with a puppy on her lap:: I found a picture of Mrs. Mark on the internet when she was 19, and I sort of copied her face. Ooh, there are the Spencers. They never buy anything, but they take their time and look at each one carefully, too. I don't think they can afford them. Mrs. Spencer has worn the same dress to the past four shows, and Mr. Spencer always comments on the price. ::the couple she's talking about look to be in their early 30s:: But I don't blame them. The gallery really jacks the prices up.

Remmy nodded in understanding. "I suppose they have to with yours to pay for all the extra things that must be done, including paying someone to come get them, plus the gas prices. I'm sure they leave them up for longer for sale too because you can't exactly come pick them up." They were just thoughts, but he thought the fact that Freddy had somewhat used the young Mrs. Marks face was lovely and that the Spencers always came no matter what meant they were dedicated. "Maybe some day, as a gift to the Spencers for being such good fans, you could paint them something. Just a thought." he added.

I've already started painting them something. ::smiles a little sheepishly:: they have such different tastes, I've been trying to do something they'll both like. Oh, there's the Vanguards. ::pointing out another elderly couple:: They find something dirty about every painting I do. They buy one every so often. ::points again:: There's Mrs. Wilson. She found out her husband is cheating on her, but she won't leave him, so she just spends all his money. She bought four last show. ::this dialogue goes on for every person who walks into the gallery. She knows them ALL, but from the commentary in the room, the patrons only seem to know rumors and basic facts about her::

Remmy sat and listened intently, carefully studying each couple. Freddy knew them all pretty well as most of them were regulars at her art shows, which was pretty good as she basically had a fan following.

::The Spencers stop at one of the paintings with a microphone and camera in front of it. They are discussing finances. It seems they are trying to work out how they can buy it, and finally decide to try to haggle with the gallery owner. Mr. Spencer waves his auction paddle (for later on that night, some of the other artists are auctioning off some of their older pieces) and the owner comes over. He's a squat man, a good head shorter than everyone else in the room, and about 3 times as wide. He's wearing a tuxedo and top hat. . . he looks like a cross between Mr. Monopoly and The Penguin. Mr. Spencer makes a highly unacceptable lowball offer, which the owner flat out refuses. They go on haggling for a bit, when Freddy jumps up and goes to the laptop and begins typing. A moment later, a little buzz is heard on the screen, and the owner pulls out a PDA, looking at it. His face turns red and he types in furiously. A message comes up on Freddy's computer that simply says "not a chance"::
