Daegonna was aware that they'd been discussing her, as she walked in, but she didn't seem bothered by it. When Leer waved at her, she nodded silently in response, and gave a small wave. She looked him over, her own gaze about as intense as his, roving unshyly over him. She even met his gaze directly, something she very rarely dared do with any sort of vampire or cainite. When Ice spoke, and held out a hand for her, she pursed her lips a moment, before going to him. She skirted carefully around Leer, giving him a wide, wary berth. She felt the cold of Ice's power creeping towards her, running over and through her. The heat of her own energy rolled off of her, as well as that little thread of cold, that telltale hint of her necromancy. She slid into Ice's lap, hugging the furs more tightly around her small frame as she pressed herself close against his alabaster skin. She was bothered by the fact that Ice so simply admitted tricking her, but it was done, and pitching a fit about it now wouldn't do her any more good than it had right after the fact. And he was right, it gave them both an amazing amount of power. She'd learned to make the best of her situation, once she'd at least mostly accepted it. She was still struggling a bit on that acceptance thing, but she was at least not reviled by Ice's every touch and terrified by his mere presence. At Ice's question, the girl simply nodded. She still seemed only half-awake, and perhaps a bit grouchy. She wasn't really a morning person. As she nestled against Ice, she absentmindedly lifted a hand to her throat, brushing her fingertips over where Ice had bitten her. She didn't feel any blemish beneath her fingers, but she still felt as though Ice had somehow marked her. Not, of course, that he needed to.

As Daegonna met his eyes Leer just continued to stare back at her. No tricks just the endless gaze he fixed on every interesting specimen. His pointed tongue swept slowly out over his lips, his eyes still following her as she moved around him to where Ice waited for her.
Leer nodded at Ice's comment of food slowly as if he'd been considering something in his own private little world for a moment. As for food He'd been feeding at least daily during his travels but he never got sick of the taste the vitae left on his lips, over his tongue, and down his throat.
Although currently he was more interested in what Daegonna's response would be and where it would lead. He had no doubt Dae understood the question but the way Ice had asked aloud rather than just presenting her food set thoughts running in Leer's head and a smirk on his lips.
He closed his eyes a moment, just feeling the intermingling auras in the room, sighing quietly as he just seemed to slouch into his chair a little more. When he opened his eyes again they fell on Daegonna's fingers and their contact points on her throat. He grinned at her. His manner was almost shark-like. It was as if he knew exactly what she was thinking.

Food it is then.
*Ice too had picked up on Dae's fingers trailing where he had bitten her, but he spared it no extra glance, no comment. Standing fluidly, he swept Dae up in his arm, then gently set her down to walk on her own two feet as he glided out of the room and towards the kicthen. He intercepted the ghoul he'd sent for vitae and laid out pitchers of rich, deep scented elder vitae, plus a spread of criossants fruits and the like for Dae to pick at as she chose while he tended to his own needs.
As he drank, his power prickled around the room, raising goosebumps, chilling the air further than ever. He almost laughed as he realised he was doing it, and closed tight his shields*
Interesting...
*With just that one word, he launched into the other big bit of news since Leer had been away*
Your old employer, Iden, has perished. The DeSeer clan stands on the brink, its leader a madman turned god, its heir fled and its members scattered. Tis an unbalanced homecoming you return to.

Daegonna ate gladly. She'd not realized she was so hungry, but it was little wonder, considering how much blood Ice had taken the night before. She sat on the floor at his feet as she ate, one shoulder resting against his leg. As Ice's power flowed through out the room, she shivered, and wrapped the furs tighter around herself. She'd not gotten around to getting dressed yet, and now she rather regretted it, as the temperature dropped even more. Then Ice closed up his shields again. Then he mentioned the other bit of news. Daegonna hadn't really been keeping her power suppressed much, lately. No reason to use wards or shields, here. So at any given time, her energy was just loosely held inside of herself, which took some concentration on her part. At the mention of her family, and Iden's death, that concentration slipped. Grief and guilt washed through the girl, and tears welled in her golden eyes. Her power flooded the room, both the heat of her own raw energy, and that little trickle of the cold of the grave. That echo of necromancy had grown more noticeable than before, even Daegonna was aware of that. Or she would've been if she could get her head past her current flood of emotion. She closed her eyes and bowed her head, trying to regain her composure.

The fault is not yours to bear, Daegonna.
*Ice dropped his hand to stroke Daegonna's head, pressing her against his thigh as he did so, vitae in his other hand*
Truly, if you WERE to blame, I would have been among those you had to fear. Vengeance is spawn of MY line as well remember. There is yet hope for her, and the boy's demise a necessity. Better it granted at your hands than at those of his mother, or myself. It would have been less clean.
*Cold flowed out of his hand, into her body as he helped quieten the fire of her own energy, letting the bond between them help soothe her for once. Like a metaphysical leech, the wolf slid down the tunnel between them and licked at her sorrow and guilt, leeching it away into Ice to hold onto for now, until she was under better control... and also to allow her some peace of mind*

Daegonna nuzzled her tearstreaked face against Ice's thigh as he stroked her horned head. Ice's words were a slight comfort, but not much. On an academic level, she knew Iden had been gone long before she ripped out his spine and tried to claw out his heart. It was still a little difficult to believe that, though. She was at least grateful it'd not been Ice who killed him, though. Cold washed through her, and she sighed softly. She felt her guilt and sorrow drain away. She turned and pressed herself against Ice's leg, the fingers of one hand twining in his soft downy fur. When she moved her hand to Ice's leg, the fur draped around her shoulders slipped down a bit, but she didn't seem to notice.

Leer stood as he smelled the blood on the air. Tail swaying behind him he paced smoothly to the source. Forming a deep goblet from the ice around him he filled it with viae and took a sip before responding tot he bit of news Ice had laid out for him to swallow with the meal. It didn't leave quite as delicious a taste as the blood.
"Now THAT'S a shame! The gig with Iden was rather...favorable...gonna' miss that crazy b*****d."
He was a little startled to hear the news internally. Indeed he returned to an unbalanced field. Still, his surprise showed only barely in his tones. Ice might pick up on it but the average person was likely to miss it.
Leer recoiled slightly, as if having been pushed on the shoulder by an old friend, as Daegonna's concentration fell and the heat washed over him. He couldn't help but wonder what he'd missed. it all became clear to him as the exchange between Ice and Dae continued.
"Who would have predicted the mighty DeSeer clan would be laid as low as you speak..."
He spoke as if he'd been thinking outloud; the surprise in his voice had been replaced by a more notable solemness, maybe even a slight touch of sadness, as he considerred the words while gazing down at his drink and giving it a slight stir with a twist of his wrist.
Downing about a third of the vitae in one gulp he then looked up form the glass and resumed his former seat; his wrist still swirled the drink in the glass but the emotional traces of the conversation had been put back for later consideration. General information aside, Leer suspected there was point behind all of this. Perhaps he was merely being over analytical though, or perhaps it was just a second nature to suspect hidden meanings in most everything.
"So then, where do we stand regarding all this? Where's it all leave us?"

I will miss the young pup also. I was... looking forward... to my time with him.
*And that was where Ice WAS crazy insane. He talked of planned future rape as if it was statutory advancement. In his eyes... it was. Nobody ENJOYED being raped, but it was something of a price to pay. Of course, had Iden been around, he'd have argued the Sodomy Centaur incident had been enough. Ice wouldnt have agreed.
Finishing his drink, Ice idly lifted the furs slightly higher on Dae while he answered Leer. Seemed the old goat was gaining SOME consideration in this new bond. Or was just marking his patch.*
Low... yes, I guess you could call it such. As for where WE stand... nowhere differently than before. The DeSeers are but one branch of our operation, albeit the strongest one, but this isnt the first time theres been set backs with the group. Though powerful, they have always been volatile and I do have other teams to do their work when these incidents crop up. We wait to see what happens. That is all.

Daegonna shuddered at Ice's words. She knew some of what Ice had done to all of her brothers, and it made her sick, disgusted, and terrified. She managed not to cringe, or cower. Bully for her, 'cuz it was a close thing. As Ice drew the furs higher around her shoulders, Daegonna glanced up at him. Was he being protective or possessive. Either way, she tightened her grip on the furs. She rested her head on Ice's thigh, in spite of the loathing she felt for him and what he'd done to her brothers. She was certain she should be sadder, sorrier, at the thought of her family. She wasn't though, thanks to Ice. She couldn't feel much of anything, beyond that pang of disgust and fear at Ice's fond thoughts of the rape of her brother. She wasn't sure if she was grateful or not. She felt like she should be suffering, after what had happened. It all seemed wrong, empty, hollow. She drew her legs up against her chest, and her tail curled around her feet. Her face was disturbingly blank.

*Hiding out of sight and surpressing his reiatsu to an un-noticable level, a shadowy figure had appeared to watch the scene below. He scowled as he could sense the taint of his own foul bloodline below him, yet neither figure he recognised. For now he was content to wait, years had passed since he had been in this region, and he knew not what had changed...*

Daegonna made a soft sound in her sleep, and rolled over, snuggling closer to Ice's cold, spiky body. She rested her head on his shoulder, her tail curling around his waist, her hand resting on his chest. She woke again a little over an hour later, and sat up with a yawn, hugging the furs to herself. She glanced over her shoulder at Ice, who appeared to be still sleeping. She stared hard at his face, biting anxiously at her lower lip. She was - and likely always would be - torn by conflict in her mind. Her power, her body, they answered happily to Ice. The rest of her did not. She wasn't sure what to make of that at all. She gnawed at her lower lip, a slight frown on her face. Maybe it was just a strange case of Stockholme's Syndrome. She needed him happy or she suffered. Why not try to make herself happy in the process? She shook her head, sending her curls tumbling across her face again, and turned away, staring down at the furs bunched in her hands. She knew he probably sensed her turmoil. He was probably awake, too. He, of course, understood on an academic level why it was that she couldn't really accept their link entirely, but he didn't actually get it. He probably never would. He'd never been human, or innocent, or genuinely vulnerable. He'd never been like her. And she, for her own part, could not understand him. At first she had wanted to understand, to know why he worked the way he did, but she'd decided, now, that she actually didn't. She suspected that if either of them truly understood the other, they would cease to be separate beings. That thought scared her.

*Ice streched slowly at her side, serpentine tongue licking his lips as his innocent pink eyes slid open. He rolled onto his side and looked up at Daegonna, a steady smirk spreading over his thin blue lips as he caught sight of the worry in her eyes.*
Good morning princess.... sleep well?
*His voice was deceptively normal as he watched her, but shed know he was getting kicks from her dilemma*

Daegonna looked down at Ice as he stretched languidly beside her, watching the ripple of muscle beneath ivory skin. She tilted her head to one side as he smirked up at her, and returned the expression, though there was significantly less amusement in her own smirk. "I always sleep better with you." She said. "No nightmares." For some reason, she didn't sound too happy about that. She didn't like being reliant on him. She wondered what would happen when...if?....if she ever went home. How would she and Ice feed the link? She suspected it'd get pretty ugly. Even now, as she watched Ice, she knew he was enjoying her little inner struggle, amused by the turmoil that constantly raged in her head. "And you?" She asked sweetly. "How did you sleep?"

Like a Prince my dear... soundly, and contently. I have not slept this much for aeons. too busy and I didnt enjoy just dying for the day. Now... I find I look forward to it.
*He trailed a hand upwards, then stroked her cheek, granting them each the first flare of power of the day*
We should both eat - I have news, but I will not share it until I have eaten and can fully watch your reaction.

A ghost of a smile tugged at her lips, somehow wistful. Ice lifted a hand, and stroked one high cheekbone. Her eyes drifted shut, and she half-consciously nuzzled her face into his palm. Warmth and cold played back and forth between them. She made a soft sound of happiness. Not long ago, she would have recoiled, disgusted and terrified. She'd have screamed, or lashed out, or writhed in hatred at his touch. She knew it, and it bothered her. But it didn't bother her as much as what she knew she'd do if she fought him, now. At his words, she opened her eyes again. Now she looked slightly suspicious. If he hadn't had news before they fell asleep, that meant it was something he'd probably learned very recently. Over the past few weeks, she'd been learning to read him a bit better. Sort of, anyway. She was getting better at interpreting what he would allow her to see, so she probably never actually got the whole story, but he was letting nothing on, right now. Whatever it was, he probably wanted to drop the news on her like a bombshell, and watch her pick up the pieces of herself again afterward. She didn't argue though. No point. He'd get his kicks one way or the other.
