Deidara winced slightly at the blow from the sand, but felt no pain, and brushed it off quickly. "I meant you didn't do anything that'd give him any excuse to kill you, un..." he said, scowling. "You're innocent in the way that, if he killed you, it'd be without reason, un." At Zabuza's words, he felt his face burn red, and quickly willed the blushing away.

Haku had moved in a flash, and before Gaara even registered it happening, he was thrown back into a tree himself, and then pinned to it with a hand to his throat, and another hand with threataning senbon in the other. "It would be wise to let him go." Haku said coldly, one of the senbon close enough to Gaara's throat to draw blood. He now had anger in his eyes as they glared at the sand-controler in his grasp.

Gasping Gaara stared into Haku's emotionless eyes. He felt the familiar warm feeling of blood that was flowing from his neck ever so slightly. If shukaku had been still with him he'd have crushed both mist shinobi in moments. Sighing he watched Haku blankly enough to rival the look the other boy was giving him. "I woudn't be innocent any other way.... my death is something deserved." Gaara spoke ignoring Haku. Lowering the sand only halfway.
Zabuza shook his head waiting fro any sign of movement. Things were getting more interesting than he had first thought when considering helping the akatsuki member.

Deidara frowned at Gaara's words, opening his mouth to speak. "No, you..." he stopped, catching himself before he said something he shouldn't, and instead looked down to the sand that was gently holding him in place. Tugging against it with no real results, he muttered, "It'd be nice if you let go now, un..."

"Then maybe it would be good to end things now." Haku hissed, the senbon going further into Gaara's neck just slowly. He then had a thought. He himself would probably get attacked if he killed the boy in front of him. And, since Gaara controlled the sand... he wouldnt be able to if he were uncontious.
Uexpectidly, Haku removed the senbon from Gaara's neck and slammed him into the tree hard enough to knock him out. He knew that he would have made even more of an enemy of the blonde and the redhead there, but it was better then the alternative.
Shifting a glance over to Zabuza, he gave a satisfied grunt when the sand fell to the ground, leaving the other Mist-nin free. With some unknown strength he picked up the uncontious Gaara and slung him over his shoulder, glaring at Deidara and daring him to do something about it. His other hand was still armed with his Senbon.

zabuza sighed walking over to his partner, "Good choice Haku... if you killed him I can tell that you wouldn't be in a very good position." Pointing his sword at Deidara, who was now free himself He added, "We have your captive now let's get where we need to go before we do something worse than knocking him out."

((Yes, sadly T.T And I think I may die of a heart attack soon from reading Death Note XDDDDD I almost just burst a blood vessel squealing XD))
Deidara stood up as the sand fell away, brushing off the grains of earth and nodding gravely to Zabuza. Glancing to Gaara slung over Haku's shoulder, he bit his lip, averting his gaze to the ground and following after the mist nin silently.
Crap, this isn't good, un... he mused nervously. In this situation, it's as bad as if I myself were being held hostage, un. I can't do anything...my hands are tied, un...

Haku nodded slightly, his glare still set, slightly, but turned and began walking in the direction they had been going before. He seemed to not notice the weight resting on his shoulder, and stayed close to Zabuza. Although he was armed, and was able to defend himself, and keep his captive, he had a feeling that Zabuza would want to do something about it, if Deidara even tried to retreive Gaara from him.

Still following after the others silently, Deidara shot a glare at the mist nin's backs. I don't want to do anything that might make them hurt Gaara, un... he thought, one hand automatically reaching for his clay pouch. But I have to do something, un...
Stopping, the blonde said suddenly, "It's obvious that you two aren't allies, un, no matter that you helped once before. And you're proving to be only enemies as we go, and if anything, you'll just lead hunter-nin after us, un. So..." he held out a hand expectantly, eye narrowed. "...give me Gaara back. We'll go on without you two, un."

Haku stopped and turned around to face Deidara. His eyes narrowed on the hand reaching for the clay pouch. He stepped in front of Zabuza, willing to take a blow if the other was attacked... or even if he, himself, were attacked. But, then again, he was the one who had Gaara slung over his shoulder, so the blonde wouldnt-couldnt- attack him, unless he wanted to hurt his own goal. Of course, that was his goal.
Haku remained where he was, one hand holding the uncontious Gaara onto his shoulder, the other holding senbon. "Bite off more then you could chew?" He asked, waiting for Zabuza to decide what they would do. It would be easier on the two mist-nin if they left the pair and went their own seperate ways...

Shikamaru pulled himself up. He glanced back at Kiba, still glaring. How much he...he...hated the self-centered dog-ninja right now. What an a** hole. He was about to leave when he sensed something in the trees above him. He looked up and scanned,"Who's there?" he felt stupid shouting at the vegetation, but, it was the first thing that came to mind. Despite being exhausted, Shikamaru braced himself for an enemy attack.

-Neji slanted blank eyes as Shikamaru called up to him. He closed his eyes momentarily, recalling the days when Shikamaru had ordered him around. And he had to admit, the guy was a good strategist. Neji dug into his pouch and removed some medical supplies, bandages, ointments, alchohol for the blood, the usual. He silently dropped from the tree, looking up at Shikamaru as he tossed the supplies at his feet, speaking.-
"You'd better patch him up. He's pretty beat. There are rocks along the stream's current, I doubt he got down here unscathed."
-He crossed his arms in front of Shikamaru, standing in his usual on-guard-at-all-times stance.-
