Marc_Spector Jaeger_Ayers Marc_Spector Jaeger_Ayers Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. Whatever happened to showing up, lining up and chopping socky? Oh yeah, I grew up. Boy, that was a dumb idea. rolleyes Well, it's official, I'm being recommended by the president of the International Seishinkai Karate union for membership in the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai. Essentually, this means I'm in for another whuppin'. I get to the other side successfully then, and this isn't to sound dramatic, officially anyone who questions my martial arts credentials won't have a leg to stand on. I've been invited to the Chop-socky Good Ol' Boys club. cool ain't it fun? can't be as bad as when they made me dad shihan, though. Yeah, my ol' man is a shihan as well. I got shihan-dai a while back. that's dynamite. I myself havn't trained seriously in a while though. I really need to get back to it. besides, I miss wearing my hakama. Never got a chance to wear one during my Aikido training. Those things just look sweet.

After Jak and I went to check out a boxing gym (to no avail), we were walking past a small bookstore and decided to give it a look. The owner saw my Marvel Zombies hoodie and asked about it. A bit later, he asked if I was keeping up with Civil War. So I asked him if he was into comics.
Turns out the guy used to have the biggest comic collection on the west coast. He had everything, literally, that Marvel had done since before they were Marvel. He had the first Sub-Mariner comics. He had three copies of Spider-Man #1 (one signed by Stan Lee) and two copies of Amazing Fantasy #15. He had the WWII comics. Unfortunately, he sold his collection in the eighties and bought a house with the money. Now, he reads about 20 titles a month and regrets selling his collection.
I really wish he was hiring, because I would work for that guy in a heartbeat.

Blasphemy! domokun but seriously, it's cool to run into another aikido practioner. my main art is sanuces-ryu jujitsu, though. My dad was one of Moses Powell's main students back in the 60's and 70's.

My dad was one of Moses Powell's main students back in the 60's and 70's. Well, I did only train for a year in college. I found it to be a good compliment to my karate training. I came up Kobaiyashi Shorin-ryu, but switched to Matsubaiyashi Shorin-ryu. I joined the International Seishinkai Karate Union last year and made another change to Motobu-ha Shito-ryu. I've heard of Moses Powell, but don't have his specifics. Research time! whee

I really wish I would have gotten into martial arts as a kid.
Actually, any sport would have been nice sweatdrop

Timing really sucks sometimes.
Got the twins due late April.
Go Dan testing in Georgia Memorial day weekend.
Dai nippon Budotu-Kai evaluation in August, which will be three days on testing.
Then I get an e-mail, seems I got scouted win I won a Tri-State championship. The US Kempo team wants me as a kata and weapons man. Sounds like a blast, unfortunately that would mean legging on to Budapest the week before my Go Dan test, so I'm sitting this one out.
Everything seems to happen al at once.
