I have a list writen up with the current Eldar codex. I might have to run this army first, and was wondering if there were any better buy's for it.
(1850)
HQ
Farseer with singing spear and mindwar on a jetbike.
Warlock on jetbike, conceal.
Warlock on jetbike, enhance.

Troop
Six squads of 10 rangers

Elite
3 squads of 5 Pathfinders

Heavy
Fireprism upgraded to shuriken canon with vectored engines.

As normal for me it's a mainly shooting army. This might be the list I run over the marine list. I like it because everything minus heavy/hq can infiltrate, and everything minus heavy has at least a 5+ coversave to counteract the lack of an armor save.

And sorry if this has been asked and answered, but what does a witchblade do? I cant find it in the eldar codex.

personaly i think you have a problem with an armour based team, I'm assuming your alaitoc, so you do get a starting advantage though against a landraider or a hammer head your in for some trouble.

There is one thing I don't quite understand with the Eldar. After looking over the codex avidly for the past month, I wondered and will ask.

"Is there any real benefit to being "craftworld Specific"? Granted, I haven't gotten the craft world codex QUITE yet. I am planning on getting it. I have the money."

yes there is. You can have armies that have aspect warriors as your regular troops(in exchange for your regular troops becoming elites.) Theres an army that runs ranger squads and have an elite ranger(pathfinders). The craftworld has some pretty good choices in it, depending on what you want.

well there alot, alaitoc can shoot before the battle, and get many bonuses, such as instant pinning, removing things into reserves, all on a roll of a d6 for each squad of pathfinders.
Biel-tan jet bike based army, very fast.
i don't remember the other ones but one is a wraith based army (wraith guard and wraithlords)
asspect warrior based team

okay I've worked out a great strategy, if anyones familiar with the tau strategy fish of fury you'll under stand if not I'll but a description at the end of this post.

three falcons- holo fields, spirit stone, star engines
falcon 1:-farseer with fourtune
-4x Fire dragons
-fire dragon exarch
falcon 2&3:-warlock with destructor
-4x fire dragons
-fire dragon exarch

tactic: charge 24+starengines roll(2d6), that should have you close enough for the next turn, next turn move twelve and shoot the tanks guns, simoutaniously drop out all the firedragons and such and fire their guns from behind the tank, the tanks ar ment to have flown above the fire dragons, and next turn the tanks move in the way stoping any damage to your fire dragons.

one problem, falcons are skimmers and do not block line of sight, so the firedragons could still be targeted if someone felt them to be the greater threat than the falcons.

as for aliatoc, its a d6 roll for each ranger and pathfinder squad.

Yea, I just got the craftworld codex and those pathfinders are damned sexy. I want some.

But even if they are skimmers, does it count towards some form of cover?

only if they're crashed/landed. i dont know the rules on landing skimmers, i dont think you can.

not according to people who work at games workshop, the skimmer can fly low enought to black line of sight, its a strategy planned for tau, though is only recently getting into the eldar race.

dont worry, he can only get 11 d6 rolls at the start of the game. he can not affect models that dont start on the table, vehicles, or people started in vehicles. though he can start your units in reserve(2 chances, 1 chosen 1 random), pinned(same as reserve), or he can get free shots regardless of range and line of sight(one chance), or he can roll the normal failure and get nothing.

I just love being able to run 8 squads of rangers and 3 squads of pathfinders. i believe the numbers i have are 6 squads of 8, 1 squad of 6, 1 squad of 5(i'll post an updated list when i find it.) plus my 3 squads of 5 pathfinders. then my eye catchers will be wraithlords so my jetbikes can get up to kill vehicles.

How does the Ranger Rifle Go Affect Vehichles?

Is this right:

2D6 For Armour Penetration, which means that if you roll a 12 with that, then you can Affect Vehichles like Rhinos or Lighter Armoured Stuff, like Ork Trucks, and similar Vehichles?

Anybody know what rules would be good for a Exodite army?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 09, 2006 4:07 pm

well for ranger rifles you get a chance for AP 1. for standard rangers you have a 16.3% chance, with pahtfinders its a 48.9% chance. Yes I realize the math seems odd, however I run on the aspect that it is more likely to roll low numbers on a d6 rather than high numbers.
