Ayise looked at Kumizu blankly while attempting, to tie her hair back although the wet strands slipped through her fingers, she was drenched.
"I thought we said everything that needed to be said, what else is there?" She asked, her eyes sad and faintly red as if she'd be crying recently.
"Besides you're hurt, you should use your cane. Don't try to keep your pride in front on me, I don't care. It's not like I'll make fun of the cripple." She said coolly, not looking at him.

"And I'm not going to run over and get it just to come back here." Kumizu noticed that she was struggling with her hair and walked to her. He put his hand on her head and dragged it down her back, down her hair. It dried the moment he touched it. He also used it as a way to turn her towards him. He smiled faintly. "See? Like a sponge." Kumizu kept his hand on her back, at the spot where he had dried the last part of her hair. He didn't want to let go.

Ayise bit her bottom lip, a sure sign of her uphappiness. "Yes, like sponge. But you aren't one. And even if you were you wouldn't have use for a girl who's afriaid of water. You don't need me." She said flatly, her face a frozen mask of indifference that looked out of place on her normally cheerful features.
"Please don't touch me." She said looking at the ground and tying her hair back, instead of laying across her face as usual it curled around her face in out of control curls. "Say, what you have to."

Kumizu... didn't know how to respond to this. He hadn't expected it. His hand dropped back to his side. The bad side that I was thinking about at the courtyard, he thought sarcastically, also making sure that this particular thought was blocked. In its place, were four simple words: I do need you.
"Look, I don't care whether or not you're afraid of water. I live fine on land too. Even I couldn't spend all my time in a lake.... But, I know why you're afraid. I saw what happened to you when you were younger, and I'm sorry that I've forced the element on you in some cases." He looked down remembering the incident at the hot springs, when she nearly drowned.

"Kumizu, you're forgiven and you saw it, huh?" She said a bit bitterly, "My natural element is fire, even if I hadn't been afraid of water because of that, surely that incident made me afraid. After all-" She blew sparks across her fingertips, "Water can easily put out fire's passionate flames." She said softly, "You don't know anything about me," She said turning her back to him, "I'm not-the kind of person you'd want to be involved with. You've seen my family, and our...friends."
"Did you just want to apologize? Because I forgive you." She said looking at him for a long moment, it seemed like she'd forgive him for anything, she didn't seem the type to hold grudges. Her expression was sad but not at all angry.

"No, I didn't just come to apologize. I came because I wanted... to be near you. I like seeing your smile. I... need to be with you." Kumizu was tempted to get into a whole speech about how horrible his life was and how wonderful she made him feel, but he figured that would be a little much.
"I know I've seen your family, but you haven't seen mine. It's just as dysfunctional as yours, maybe more. And I agree, I don't know anything about you." He took her hands in his. "But I'd like to learn."

Ayise began to laugh, "You're persistant, aren't you?" She hugged him, "You should just know you're in way over your head." She said in an amused way.
She fiddled with the ends of her hair with her free hand, and laughed nervously. [Oh, boy. Here we go...] "There's something important you need to know." She said seriously, before bursting into nervous laughter again, "But I guess it can wait." She looked genuinely confused, since when was her presence made anyone as happy as Kumi-chan?

Kumizu wrapped his arms around Ayise as he hugged her back, and though he loosened them, he didn't quite let her go as she started acting... well, normal for her. He smiled. Things were much better when she acted this way.
However, he was curious about this important thing. "What is it I need to know? I don't want it to wait unless it has to."

Ayise kicked at the ground, "Kumi-chan isn't a knight is he?" She said, looking worried. "Ayise doesn't like knights..."
"I was never really fond of fairy tales to start with..." She said, loosing the thread of the conversation. "Doesn't it seem a bit redundant that the princesses in those stories always get themselves into things they can't get out of? Did Cinderella ever think of leaving her step-family? And Ariel didn't have to go tell her father about-" She pondered, "Kumi-chan, do you know Ariel? You two are mermaids after all."

Kumizu laughed lightly, even though he knew she was just trying change topics. "Don't worry, I'm not a knight. And no, I don't know Ariel. And you know, a lot of those guys in the fairy tales get in way over their heads. Eric didn't know that Ariel was a mermaid. The prince didn't know that Cinderella had an evil step-family that he'd have to deal with. Although I have to say, the endings are a bit interesting."

"Yes, well. I hated Sleeping Beauty the most." She stuck out her tongue, "Not a very intelligent bunch. They should have kept her for a week or so after her birthday for good measure." She shook her head, "Why would you say the ending are interesting? They all end with 'Happily Ever After'. Had Cinderella been a real girl she would have lost all of her rights and property as soon as she married the prince.
Not to mention other royalty would give her a hard time for being common.
Ariel would have to have gotten homesick a lot. Seaside cities eat a lot of fish too." She said off-handedly.
"They don't make much sense." She frowned a little, was he humoring her?
True, the subject was pretty random but-
She closed her eyes, "I've got to go."

"I don't mind Sleeping Beauty. After all, think about the way he had to wake her." Before Kumizu could say anything else, Ayise told him she had to go. "Already? Why? I was hoping we could spend some more time together." We've just started to patch things up again. Why does it have to end so quickly?

"I'm not feeling well," Ayise said, her green eyes glowing, "I think I've been a bit stressed lately." Ayise shrugged, "I'm just not comfortable with people seeing the other me. You know?" She said smiling nervously, "Like with whole slaying thing knights seem to have..."
She sweatdropped. She wasn't sure if he was following her, most likely he was just trying to understand what she was talking about.

Kumizu frowned. "I'm not a knight; we can get off that subject, if you'd like. And... am I just another person to you, then?" This really hurt him. He felt closer to her than anyone else in the school. He thought she felt the same way, but lately it didn't seem so.
