Ash peppered across both of them, stinging Zetigeth's face and chest as he scorched some thread and the winds whipped up. It took the pain away from his tongue but that didn't make it any better.

Once more the brown shot a longer than usual flame and D'ast actually risked sending a terse word to him as it ate through their stone once again too.

When they appeared with a roar into their wing once again it was silenced by a thermal that attempted to push them up. Hoath pulled a move that was a little ingenious and tucked his wings tight, dropping like a stone before pulling them back out again so that the tail end of the thermal lifted them back into place. Ri'ven's heart was in his throat but he could at least admit that they stayed in place!

The sky was dark and the winds were whipping around violently no matter what level they were at. It didn't help that it seemed the wings above were having a hard time and that was what maybe made it such a surprise. Such a terribly horrible surprise.
Hoath looked up and Ri'ven's eyes glanced upwards with him. It was... too late.
The sheet settled over them before they could react, before they could Between. It wrapped around Ri'ven and burrowed through his wherhide in an instant, it ate through Hoath's hide and suddenly his vanity didn't even matter. He couldn't feel his rider's mind but it took every effort to realize that it wasn't because of death. In his panic he almost made the ultimate choice for both of them, but without Ri'ven's guidance he couldn't exactly go Between either, they were... they were stuck. There was no wind to beat against when they were wrapped in Thread and before he knew it, there was nothing anymore.
Hoath's eyes turned white and dull as he fell, unconscious gratefully, pain free without his senses.

Another dragon falling? Aedeth flew to do her best...
Quote:
Your gold flies high, ready to save their fallen wingmate. She positions herself well, with the dragon managing to land comfortably upon her back. Though the adrenaline is still racing through both of you, there's also excitement and ride. You're practically an expert at this catching thing, already! Back to the Weyr with you!
And her best was, fortunately, good enough. Once Hoath was safely balanced, they made the trip back to the Weyr and the waiting healers.
M'aze and bronze Zeath Both Waves - Hour 3 Round 2 HP: 37 Status: Roll 1/5 Target Accuracy: 10 +2 Flame Length: 9 +2 General Stamina: 9 +7 General Agility: 6 +1 Between Accuracy: 9 Pain Resilience: 9 Instinct: 8 +2 Luck: 8 +3
19. You're low on firestone! If you've already replenished recently (within the last 5 posts) you may you may choose to skip this roll and just do a general post for no XP. OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling! Post this code in your next post and see if a weyrling can get to you!
They'd been flying for quite some time now and it didn't surprise M'aze that they were out of firestone. Zeath called down to the riders below for a refill.
A semi-retired rider rose to their call, a bag of firestone ready in his hand.
16. A rider in the Low-Altitude Wing needs a new bag of firestone. Though Threadfall is a little heavier up here, and the wind stronger, you're able to toss the stone successfully. The rider gives a nod of thanks! Nice aim! +1 Target Accuracy
Thankfully he'd seen years of experience prior to this and was a good toss.

M'aze caught the bag and tied it to the harness after giving a wave of thanks.
8. Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]
After securing the bag and tossing Zeath a few more pieces, the pair dove after a loose strand of Thread. Zeath pulled off a rather impressive maneuver (for a bronze) as the wind changed, blowing the Thread right back towards them. With a mouthful of new firestone he flamed the Thread down, then headed back to his spot in the wing.

12. By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!
Just as they returned to formation Zeath spotted a wingmate in trouble and flew towards them, managing to sear the Thread from the sky.

11. You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!
"How you doing?" M'aze called to Zeath as they returned to their position. The bronze gave a little trumpet of confirmation that he was doing well. A wingmate, however, was looking a little tired, so he called out to them in turn.

10. Are you feeling lucky? Well you should! Free reply! Respond to this post with any action pertaining to Threadfall, and gain a little luck. [+1 Luck]
No sooner had he called to his wingmate than Zeath was on the move again, hunting down a rogue piece of Thread that everyone seemed to have missed. He got it just before it fell too far out of range, his flame just long enough to catch it.

Meigth needed to chow down on a bit more stone, which was an easier task for the bronze to do while he was so tired.

At least they had a little time to breath, which was helping Meigth through his recovery. Are you ready to fly a little harder? N'ori asked, his dragon rumbling the affirmative.
Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]
They were just having a day of it, weren't they? Sure, Meigth was still going to flame and fly with vigor as he always did, but man....his mouth hurt!

Meigth was still feeling good, energetic even, after their long break. Good!
