Jurvik's eyes sought out his son's first and foremost. Right there in the front row. Awww! He waved, but that was all the time they had before the set began.
It lasted about half an hour--just some old Solstice favorites. Nothing weird or new--some older stuff, some folksy stuff, and some stuff that the kids could sing along to. Everyone had a good time, at least so far as Jurvik could tell. When they left the stage, someone handed him a mug of coffee to whet his whistle and he sat down backstage.
Xeno joined him not long afterwards. "I liked the part where the rat climbed up your leg," he said. He grinned.
Jurvik choked on his drink. "What?" He looked down to see an unfamiliar nose poke out of his sporan. Two?! Yes, indeed, a green one now as well! "Hello there, Basil," he said to the newcomer. It wiggled its nose. Yeah, it would.
Okay, so he'd fund a new fish--so what? He was back to going after the plushies. He wasn't the only one lagging behind, either, as others peeled off to pick things up. But it seemed he would be the first to do so twice, since he saw something else wriggling on the ground with something gold. Another skyfish--this one brown--and golden earrings. He picked up the earrings and the fish, and continued along after his new friends. The new fish wriggled into the sleeve of his shirt beside the first one.
Yes, yes, his plan was coming to fruition! The kids were having fun, the cannoneers were about to be confused by kids swarming all over them... things were going perfectly.
Someone walked over to him. "Would you like a bracelet?"
Kuni nodded. "Yes, but only in blue, please."
The Nightmare nodded and handed him one. "Happy Solstice!"
Ugh, why did people keep peeling away? This was why they weren't getting as many plushies as she was! And yet, after catching a pretty purple vespercat plush, she turned around to see why the other girls lagged behind. They were cooing over--books? Huh. Weird. Books were kind of, um, boring? Unless they were about princesses. "Would you like one, too?" the vendor asked.
Talya sighed. "Okay." She took the first one off the stack, one that was sort of purple and pink. "Thanks. Happy Solstice."
Well, of course Lillian had stopped for more books. She wanted to learn as much about the surface world as possible. And anyway, plushies...were nice, but she didn't want to get hit with them. There weren't any other books about the ocean, and there weren't any books with Nixie or Grimms on the cover, but there were several with Imps. She picked one that seemed to be seasonal and giggled softly at Talya's obvious annoyance. Was she always like this?
Talya seemed upset that they were lagging behind. "Sorry, Talya," Evey said. "I guess we stop for books or something." She wasn't looking for books--her parent had lots already. She could get one from them any time. Instead, they wanted more candy. This time, the vendor handed them a huge green lollipop. She curtsied and smiled. "Thank you. This looks amazing!"
Zalir read one chapter of zeir book, then got up to stretch zeir legs. Right...what could zey play...? Oh, zey could go back to the ring toss, right? Zey played a couple games of hoops and won an orange bracelet. It was pretty nice that they had orange things here--normally that was reserved for Haunted Hallows.
Well, Peri had succeeded in his goal of drowning his sorrows with games. The birds clung to his shirt with claws, talons, and teeth, screaming through the sweater, but they didn't let go when he slowed down. They seemed to like him! He was glad of that. Someone handed him an orange boa to go on top of his green one. "It looks good on you!" they said hurriedly.
Peri grinned. "Thanks! It does!"
Teo's wing fluttered when he overheard that conversation. "I don't get it."
"It's the color," Peri explained. "I'm orange and green all over, and I have a green boa. Now I have an orange one. They know I like it because of my colors. Or something."
Ah, so it was a color thing. Colors. What was so cool about them? Meh. Teo preferred candy--which someone seemed to have realized when they handed him a giant lollipop in passing. "Thanks--Happy Solstice!"
How she hadn't seen it before, Miah was unsure. The small sealpup plush was one of the cutest things she had ever seen, and there it was, happily waiting for her to come pick it up and add it to her collection.
At this rate, Miah was going to be in need of a much, much bigger bag.
She practically rushed over towards the booth, already drowning in plushies as it was.
"What's this game? I really want that sealpup!" she said with a squeal, her head jingling slightly from the odd antlers that didn't quite fit on her head properly thanks to her actual horns.
With all of the festivities going on around them, it seemed like a good enough time to take a break and sit down for a while. Alis's stocking was most certainly overflowing with goodies, to the point that they feared they were beginning to lose track of stuff.
"I'm just gonna... sort all this stuff out over here. I might have to head home really quick and drop some stuff off... or just... stop getting stuff. But that wouldn't be fun," they muttered to their small, curious Cockatriel companion, who seemed to be surprisingly content pecking at--but not actually eating--the Baphomet's peanutbutter bark from earlier.
In no universe did the demon need more plushies--her room was cluttered enough with fabric and other crafting supplies as it was.
But the moment she saw that lone adorable fox, sitting atop a shelf, she knew she needed it.
"Oh, my... look at how cute it is!" she squealed, earning herself a somewhat sad mewl from the fennekit in her arms. "Well, it's obviously nowhere as cute as you, sweetpea," she cooed, leaning down to nuzzle the nose of the small creature in her arms, who happily cooed in response.
Her small break off to the side had been a much-needed one. Suddenly the geist felt much more sure of herself--more confident that she could continue the festivities without a need to worry about breaking down from anxiety. Suddenly she found herself walking around the area with a big smile on her lips as she cradled her plushies, her two small furry companions following her at the ankles as well.
"Maybe I could get a few more plushies,... you guys would like that, right?" she asked, glancing down first at the Kidden on her left, then the Fennekit on her right. Both gave their own happy responses, much to her amusement as she headed towards the nearest toy booth.
Eveilyn had tried speaking to Munnin again but it seems her voice hadn’t reached them and soon enough the little ones were lost in the crowd. Not bothered and hoping they were having fun with the festival she continued on her way and stopped at a place handing out lighted necklaces. Thinking it was a cute decoration she snagged one to hang in her room as a little nightlight of sorts. With most of her trinkets having been dropped off in her room she was now just wearing the necklace and feeling like perhaps looking back to the books might be store for her since she noticed a nightmare carrying more books past her toward the stalls. Along the way she heard a slight buzzing but didn't even notice the small insect following along behind her having been attracted by the sparkling necklaces and now after her.

Arya grabbed a plush, looked at it for a moment then held it out to Piper. "For you." He said with a small smile.

"That's what Dad likes to joke too! Maybe it's a grown up thing?" Nikora giggled and shook her head then looked at the giest. "No I don't but that would be awesome if I could!" She answered Hailey. When her friends got stuff too she cheered but then eyed the bird Hailey won. "Maybe Malachi's and your birds will become friends and not be as bitey?" She suggested then looked at Malachi with a raised eyebrow as if expecting him to know if it was possible. She then spotted free warm drinks and got one before the next booth.

Camrine's eyes widened "Wow I'll have to make a few adjustments to the sweater I was thinking of making then, I never thought the flowers I was seeing the the fey around the festival were so important. That's rather amazing. I hope I can learn more about you people over time." Cam said nicely. Camrine picked up a thing of blue candy floss, as she walked along talking to Fig. "So change of subject, what do you like to do?? Hobbies?? Things you do for fun?? Besides music??"
- ( 3 ) - "Mm,"Fig mused with a nod. "I could see how they would just look like we fey like wearing flowers on our lapels or what have you."He looked down to pull his sweater away from his for a moment to show the hole there, his flower disappearing within his sweater. "I've got a special stone in my room that helps me give it the moonlight it needs." He wiggled a finger in the hole before righting his clothing again. "Well, I'm down here for a double degree, so I'll be around a while. And I'm sure others will be perfectly happy to share with you as well."
Ah, hobbies! Music was absolutely a big one for him, but there were a couple others of note. "Well, I dabble in meditation and container gardening. Back home I enjoyed making small planters of empty tea tins and have them lining window sills or giving them to friends and family. Every now and then I'll get in the mind to try something new, but those two are something I always fall back on. How about you? Besides knitting and sewing, what do you enjoy doing?"

- ( 8 ) - Man, after all that waiting and totally not sort of attending on her own for a little bit, Samira had gotten thirsty. "Can we please go get some hot cocoa?" Relenting, the caretaker walked along with the freshling back into the drink line to get her a mug of her own hot drink.
- ( 19 ) - In her wanderings, Endzela decided something...Her giant fennekit plush needed a little friend! So she played a game or two until she won one that would suitably match the big stuffed cuddly. And, why not? She grabbed a purple and pink belled antler headband. Horns and antlers, sure!
Autumn really felt as though she was getting the hang of these games, she kept winning all the best prizes! This had to be, what, the third giant plushie she'd won tonight? The rewards just kept coming and coming! The mutant girl grinned ear to ear as she snuggled her latest prize and hopped off toward another game, only to find that it had a long line.
"Oh, I can wait. I just won a prize, anyway." She said, matter-of-factly. "Maybe a caretaker can take the prizes I have with me back to the dorm so I have room to carry more! ... I just need to find a caretaker."
It wasn't much of a surprise to Milo that Coco had wandered off somewhere without him. He was sort of used to that and didn't mind it. After all, he didn't want to keep her from having fun everywhere else in the festival, if he was the reason at all. There was still quite a bit left out there for him to see, too, like the face painting booth that neither of them could find! He laughed at the thought and approached the next booth.
"This plushie reminds me of a friend I used to have back in the orphanage!" He exclaimed, his face faltering slightly as his words caught up with his mind. They hadn't really been as close as he'd liked them to be, which was sad. Hopefully they would get adopted soon and they would meet again someday! Then they could really be friends!
