A teardrop ran down Mino's face, only slightly jokingly as he held back a mutual laugh at the thought of a deep relationship forming between he and the flame spewing guitarist who'd quickly risen through the ranks of his people. It was also a bit ridiculous to call them 'his people' when the entire idea was that they could choose to do whatever they wanted, but considering whatever they wanted could have entailed him bringing the hammer down on them for abandoning him (of course, what HE wanted was a bunch of followers, so it made sense), it was somewhat imaginable. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?""Zaou-Gongen, deal with them," the Boss spoke evenly as his devil turned away from him and met the horde of demons rushing his way at the platform, cutting them down like ribbons of meat and bone flung far and wide...a wild beast with a sword making perfect incisions throughout his enemies. Kakyo didn't bother to watch, merely continuing on towards the Terminal that he intended to once over before heading back to the warehouse (or another city depending upon what he found). He had seen every city now, seen the destruction and the rampage of the Septentriones with his own eyes, and now he had studied the terminals from which the Trumpeter was to emerge. He had talked to people wherever he could. He had all of the information that he could gather except, perhaps, what he could find in the JPs Headquarters.
...s**t, the JPs Headquarters? If anybody had information on the devils they sealed it would be the JPs people right? If he went to their Headquarters and Investigated...would he find the information that he was looking for? "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"As he came into view of the Oshu City JPs Branch Headquarters, the Boss could see that he wasn't the only one with the idea to come check out the most likely spot in the city to find some information on the terminals other than the summoning kiosks themselves. None other than the Big Bad Turnip Benny himself was floating just outside of the doors, forcing him to hurry and duck back into the alley himself and wait for the Septentrione to get bored of what he was protecting, doing, or otherwise floating about intending to do and move on from the location. It was tedious all of this running around, hiding, skulking and fleeing in the face of a threat like this one that couldn't simply be overcome with resilience. You did what you had to do to survive, however. And he was surviving.
"Get out of the way," he growled from his hiding spot as he waited, looking towards the Headquarters and considering where he might find what he was looking for. Probably the Chief's offices...if he could get into them. And if he didn't have the key, could he smash the windows in? Would somebody try to stop him? Put down the chair and step away..." He put down the chair and bit down on his Crow's Feather, turning to see the woman had dark blue hair and stern eyes...who was she? What was she still doing here when everyone else had gone?!
"I know what this looks like...but I'm not here to rob the place. Would I have gone straight to this office if I didn't have a reason?" he asked reasonably, causing the woman to pause just for a moment...but as she spoke up he cut her off, knowing that she had been about to protest that he hadn't given her an actual reason to trust him yet, "My name is Kakyo, but everyone calls me 'Boss Kaido'. I'm with the faction here in Oshu City. I've got a wife and family back in the city waiting on me...but before I can go back to them, I've got to find out how to stop Benetnasch. My sources say JPs wants to summon Trumpeter, but Trumpeter won't listen to them. I'm here to find a clue. Anything we can use on Trumpeter...understand?"

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"He had found a few files on the Trumpeter, but none of them told him much of anything that his tech-savvy companion back at the warehouse hadn't told him via the terminal that she had hacked. His lips curled unpleasantly as he packed a few papers into his coat pocket and then moved out of the base not long after Sako, only to find that there were some devils closing in on his location rather swiftly, cackling wildly as they did so. He glanced up at the blue demon to his right and gave him the nod, having come mostly to peace with the fact that this...this was what Shiva, God of Destruction did better than anyone else. He screamed out attacks like he was FIRIN' HIS LAZOR and reduced worthless trash demons to dust in a single instant. Couldn't find a better crowd-clearer if you had sixteen cans of tear gas.

But when Kakyo followed the path of Pasupata towards the edge of the clearing before the Headquarters and a Jahi was hovering and pointing on a few more of the little beasties forward, he knew that this was one of the lucky times that he would get to take them down personally as thanks for the s**t they had caused.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It was a fairly clear path back to the warehouse; it was likely that Hisoka had been keeping it mostly that way when the smaller demons approached thanks to the devils that he had left behind for him to use. They were just as strong as his own now...Zaou-Gongen, Beelzebub, Alice...it let him feel safe in leaving them behind to go out on his mission to the different cities and examine the terminals. He came into view of their base at last after what seemed like forever...and in the window he could see the scope of Mo-Po's rifle, that lazy son of a b***h still probably resting up in the canopy as he usually was. And inside Hisoka was keeping a weathered eye on the window for demons approaching or worse, for signs of Benetnasch. Rina would be typing away on her laptop, trying to either figure out some new tidbit of information...or playing Galaga. And Kotori...
...He smiled faintly, but before he reached the door he turned left onto the street that would lead him towards the Terminal instead. Now that he had seen the other ones, it was time to inspect his own. Oshu City's Terminal...where it had all begun today...

Or maybe they thought if they were scary enough he would just throw his arms up into the air and surrender? As if...he plucked he Crow's Feather from between his lips and held it out in front of him in direction. There was on point in wasting time on this rabble himself, now when he had a devil ready and willing to wipe it entirely clear for him. Beside him, a familiar face appeared. Its golden staff jingled as it laughed.

Shiva, stay at my side and if anything gets through then I want you to take it out. But don't use Pasupata unless you absolutely have to, got it?" he commanded as he drew into the range of the Terminal and began to study the sides of the thing, knowing that he had looked it over before but now that he had a frame of reference to go by. He could hear the sounds of battle from the South Entrance to the clearing right now and knew that Zaou-Gongen was doing his part to keep him clear while he looked it over. He had never been the most studious of persons...but he was also surprisingly clever and intelligent, a trait that people never really looked for in a guy as big and grim looking as himself. He was sure that if there was anything on this that would stand out...anything that he could catch that would change their fortunes...he would find it.
Nearby, a devil's head skidded along the ground past he and Shiva and he could see the God of Destruction's arms waving, as if he were dancing in place. It would probably be hard to keep him from unleashing destruction if the carnage got much worse, but he was going to have to just let that happen right now. He didn't have time to give the devil a lecture. What would be, would be. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Nothing different...nothing that would be any particular clue towards how to summon the Trumpeter and convince him to help humanity fight the Septentriones, that was. His lips curled into a frown and he bit down on the Crow's Feather, motioning for his devils to rejoin him as he prepared to head back to the warehouse. A few weaker demons were again coming out of the woodwork, but there was little threat in them so long as Zaou-Gongen and Shiva were fighting at his sides. The only enemy he truly feared right now, apart from any other summoners who might have been angling to attack him, was Benetnasch...the one enemy he could not defeat unless he solved the riddle he had been investigating for what felt like days. Darkness was slowly creeping into the monolithic, concrete structures that loomed high in the cityscape of Oshu.
Between them the sun still peered now and again, and dimly lit the way back towards the warehouse that the Vultures called their own. No big leads in all five of the cities he had visited...but if any of the little things he had learned meant anything...maybe that would be enough? He could only hope...he could only keep trying. But for now, he could go home...take a short respite in the walls of his own base. Glancing up into the canopy he could see the barrel of the sniper rifle sticking out but not pointing down...was that b*****d sleeping on the job again? Inside he imagined that Hisoka and the others were going about their business training, researching, not aware that their guard had fallen asleep again...which left the cleanup duty to the Boss that had only just come back from his round-the-country journey and his companion devils. And one in particular loved this sort of thing. By now, you knew exactly which one that was.

Kakyo's lips curled into a smirk as the boss of the demons Shiva had eliminated moved out of an alleyway and revealed itself to be none other than a Chernobog, a fairly powerful devil which commanded fire, darkness, and generally didn't seem to think very highly of his decision to eliminate his followers. He spat and spewed about how he would reduce him to ashes and his servants would feast on the remains of the up-jumped human while he stood victorious over this entire city! The Boss listened with mild amusement as he rambled on and on; did this demon not realize the types of threats that were all around this city right now? Even if he and his friends walked out of this warehouse RIGHT NOW and handed it over, Benny would just come and erase him in a matter of seconds.

...Maybe he shouldn't have left Shiva with Zaou-Gongen on guard duty outside of the warehouse. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he was greeted by his wife rushing to hug him close, and as he patted her back the others in the base greeted him with vary degrees of enthusiasm themselves. Hisoka nodded and paused his thunderous shots to the heavy bag to listen to what he had discovered and Rina, bouncing up with her laptop leaned in close with her face at his side so that she could get the absolute best space to listen when he told them the details. And from the canopy above Mo-Po had stumbled slightly out of his sleep and rolled to the edge, his head hanging over with half-lidded eyes as he watched and waited to hear what the Boss's solution might be.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"He could hear them getting ready...Rina practicing flipping her phone open dramatically to begin a battle, Hisoka's punches followed by muttered commands his demons would follow in the midst of battle...mixing summoning and hand-to-hand combat together for what would surely be a dramatic fight...and up above he could hear Mo-Po practicing setting his hammer back and getting ready to fire before resetting...and clicking it back again. They were each preparing for war in their own way, perfecting their own style of combat but in a setting so far above what they had ever known that it was easy to think they might be completely overwhelmed by the idea of it. ...That was, if you didn't know them. And he knew that Hisoka was far too sturdy of character to be intimidated. He knew that Rina was far too stubborn to be scared away by the likes of Lin Kuei, let alone devils and Septentriones. He knew that Mo-Po's laziness belied a steel nerve in the face of his own ambitious that would not give way.
And so he didn't have to look to know they were getting ready, that they would be ready...his eyes were closed and resting against the soft brown hair of his lovely wife as she leaned against his shoulder on the couch...taking the quiet couple of moments they had to soak up the essence of one another before it was off to life-threatening battle once more. The smell...the feeling...everything.
This was what they were fighting for.
