He couldn't let Cazador stay poisoned for very long or it would seriously impact any respect the feline had for his trainer. But, he wanted to deal with Camila first, so he let her out after pulling two candies from his bag. Just two. That was all he was going to use today. Alejandro waited for the Persian to eat her special treats before returning her to her ball, sending her back with an unwelcome pat to the head. "Alright, let's take a trip to the center. None of his Pokemon were ready to challenge the gym yet. Returning to Camila to her ball, Alejandro finished the trek back to the Pokemon Center where he handed over Cazador, Camila, and Chica to Joy so their wounds and Cazador's affliction could be treated. After placing the two pokeballs on the healing machine and administering some treatment to Chica, Joy smiled at him and held out a package. Clearly, he'd been in there enough to be recognized as the recipient without her having to ask. That was kind of unsettling. "Who's this from?" "I'm afraid I don't know, sir. He said he was a friend of yours and left this here for me to deliver if you came back." That was...suspicious, but Alejandro took the package anyway. Assuming it wasn't a bomb and was actually something for trainers, then whatever was inside could be useful to him.

He peeled away the layer of simple wrapping paper to find a postcard taped to the box. It was a generic tourist postcard with an astronomy image; clearly meant to be as anonymous as possible. Whoever had given the package didn't want where he was from known. He removed it and flipped the card over to read the brief note written on the back. Written being the keyword. Most anonymous gifts he received didn't have written notes. Typed was the preferred method. "Heard you got a thing for cats, BB. Let me help you with your collection~." "Guy's a creep." But, he was used to creeps. At least it wasn't a chick this time. So, with no further inhibitions, Alejandro folded the postcard before returning to the box. If he had to guess, his admirer went out of his way to send him some of the sacred critters. Normally, accepting gifts from creeps was a big no-no, but Alejandro wasn't about to turn away the Pokemon. So, he opened the box with Destello's help. Sure enough, there were four pokeballs, but Alejandro was more focused on the display of seemingly random items. It had been carefully arranged so they were the centerpieces among the rest of the stuff.
"Definitely a creep. But, I'd be stupid to refuse this guy's help." If only because it would be cruel to the cats. He didn't give two shits about his admirer or the ideas that he was undoubtedly about to put into his head by accepting the gift. Besides, the items were actually useful. Especially the Lucky Egg that he would be using as soon as possible. After stashing the items into his bag, Alejandro was quick to let out the four Pokemon. And, despite wanting to appear impartial to avoid seriously deluding the sender that was undoubtedly watching from somewhere, he couldn't help but beam at the felines that appeared. "Sweet~!"

Not before giving Camila the lucky egg he had received from his overly dedicated admirer, of course. That was going to help her tremendously. Too bad they were so difficult to come across. It'd be useful to have an entire stock at his disposal to just continuously give to his team. Wait. Was that cheating? It felt like cheating. Ah, well, it didn't matter. It was never going to happen. With his team now healed and ready, Alejandro was ready to get back to training. He really wanted to get this gym over with and maybe go back to Alola? Things should've cooled off by now, and he didn't want forfeit the gym prizes he got for having an Alolan starter forever. Like the HMs. Those were-- "The hell?" His dex started going off the ringer, bleeping some weird alert sound until he shut it up by checking what had triggered its little seizure. There was some kind of alert on Perra's information and when he clicked on it to see what the problem was, his face contorted into an expression of confusion as he tried to process what he was seeing. "What the actual--Perra?"
The dex was going off about some mutation and it was the worst timing for the Grovyle to get sick. Grabbing her ball, Alejandro swiftly called her out. He was glad he currently wasn't drinking or eating anything because he probably would've choked to death. "What the s**t happened to you!?" This was not good at all. What the hell did a mutation mean? Was it purely physical? Did it change Perra's type and moves? Did she even have moves anymore? Alejandro let the dex re-scan the freaky-looking Grovyle as she observed herself, seemingly caught between intrigued and disgusted. Which he couldn't really disagree with. She was the ugliest thing he'd seen to date. Maybe he was in too much shock to really have another opinion on the matter, though.

At least Perra still had her Grass-type moves, and now a Dark-type move; which was probably what triggered the sudden mutation. If anything, it actually made her more useful. If he could replace Pursuit with a stronger Dark move and maybe even teach her a Poison move in place of Absorb....She'd be better off. He had two Balm Mushrooms, didn't he? If there was ever a time to use them, now would be it. "What do you say, Perra?" "Gro?" "You want to learn a couple of new moves to go with your new look?" In all honesty, Absorb was useless since she knew Mega Drain and Pursuit wasn't the best move either. Poison wouldn't have much of an advantage over Staryu and Starmie, especially if they could heal naturally, but the Dark-type move would. "Vyle." Good. Just what he wanted to hear. Alejandro dug around in his bag until he could find the mushrooms, but they were interrupted by an Abra at the last second. Well, why not see how well the new Perra could handle herself in a fight before deciding?

But, that didn't mean he was reconsidering. In fact, Alejandro was only more determined to better Perra's moves. If she had a stronger Dark move, she would've won. It was a bit of a waste to use both his mushrooms on one Pokemon, but hopefully she'd end up with moves that would make it worth the waste. He really didn't think there was a way to control what they learned by eating the fungi. "Here, Perra. Let's see what you end up with." He was hesitant as he held the mushrooms out to Perra, but she was all for it; eating one only to immediately consume the other. Did she even chew them or did she swallow them whole? Alejandro couldn't tell, but he chortled regardless. Perra was all about strength and power, wasn't she? After a couple of minutes, Alejandro got out his dex to see if it worked and what she got. And, he was anything but disappointed. Brutal Swing and Poison Jab; not bad at all. "Those will come in handy. You might even be able to take down an Abra now." "Vyle!"
