Unlike skeletons, boneywards were not created by the magic of necromancers. The bones were what made it up, and perhaps some powerful malignant spirit; not magic. Ryugi's backlash attack would have no effect against the fluid pile of bones bearing down on him, and he would find himself caught between the jaws of the undead beast. It would ignore the intense heat surrounding Ryugi as it clamped its jaws around him. Bones weren't very flammable anyway, unless he was burning like a furnace, which even then would take a while to break down enough to turn to ash. Alot longer than Ryugi could spare.
His attack did work on preventing the necromancer from using the magic of his rod, but if the nature of his attack was stripping away magic, then that wall of force behind his back would be effectively destroyed as well. There was a difference between dispelling magic - simply nullifying a spell effect - and cancelling magic - stripping away all magical effects. Ryugi's attack sounding more like the latter, he would bring about his own doom, and the shadesteels would be upon him once more.
What's this? A little girl? This looked too perfect an opportunity. The scythe-wielding mage immediately strode over to the fear-struck girl, gripping the haft of his spear with white knuckles, frustration on his face. He grabbed at the scruff of the girl's shirt with his free hand to pull her around and hold her in front of him, bringing the crescent blade's edge to her small neck.
Deja-vu?
"Surrender, or have the blood of this innocent on your hands!"

But what of Rain Yupa and Joseph Brown?
Upon seeing the ruined state that Barton was in, Rain turned the car around and drove out of the city. Much to the disapproval of Brown, he didn't want to risk the man getting hurt. He had driven the car towards Aekea, stopping a few miles away and parking the car at the side of the road.
After removing the gauntlets he had meant to field test, he pulled the keys from the engine. "Sorry, boss, but I have to do this alone." he would have explained, before stepping out of the car and throwing the keys into the nearby woods. He had polarized them before the throw, so he could find them easily enough later. But he couldn't have Brown turning the car around and driving there anyways, because Rain couldn't fight at full effectiveness while guarding him.
And no matter the arguments Brown would give him, he would charge up and charge off, sprinting several times faster than the fastest normal human back towards Barton, covering those several miles in a matter of minutes.
((Sorry JB, but I can't wait for you anymore *shields self with arms* ))
-------------------------------------------
Upon re-entering the east gate of Barton, he would see things a bit more ruined than when he had left. A building had collapsed, and zombies were literally everywhere now, chasing down anything that moved. He couldn't see Maximos on the rooftop above from his perspective, but he saw the horde + shadesteel golem.
"Let's get to business, shall we?" he said, cracking his knuckles. And he charged.

Hmph.A squish! The wet smacking sound of rock on flesh, it filled Maximos with the sort of pride a job well done should fill a man with. This satisfaction soon found itself squashed by the massive explosion, blowing his enormous hand and upper body back...normally that wouldnt have been such a horrible happenstance if not for the fact he had launched his attack from the air. And he keep the jets blasting from his boots in order to give his slam more power. As his upper body moved back, his lower half moved up, and with the boots jets flaring Maximos quite basically turned into a top, spinning backwards and down sickeningly fast, and sending him bowling back into the wreckage with a small explosion of tiny bits of debris and broken drywall and the like. That hurt. He knew the golem was close. He knew the undead horde would be focusing on the one living thing in the area. He shambled as quickly as he could through the wreckage, that had just crumbled atop his form, tossing rocks and piping and pieces of drywall aside as he made his way to his feet. Something of a wary look scratched across his blank emotionless features. His clothes had been put through the mill, but like good cloth armor they withstood a beating more dirty and dinged than damaged. His eyes scanning back and forth, for his next attacker.

The little black cat tried desperately not to move, not to make a sound... but the world had gone insane, and she had apparently been forgotten by the little girl that she belonged to....there were monsters all over the city, and one was now in her own home. It had crashed right through the wall, several walls in fact...she had cringed and cowered and now she was shaking so badly that she just wanted to cry.
Most of the animals had fled the city while they could, but there were a few house pets, like the black cat, who had been locked away in what their owners had thought was the safety of the home....

The heavy thud of dead feet would sink through the air as the rearward force neared the Town Square.

"It's been a long time since I've seen anything like this."
He had to raise his voice over the engine of the bike, but he didn't seem to be paying that much attention to the words he spoke. His head was tilted upward a little, watching the ship in the sky, as well as the flames and smoke. There was sound of battle within, large numbers marching, clashing... and signs of some sort of struggle.
The airship was new. But war didn't change much.
Kalis kept the engine steady as he circled around from the north side of the town, keeping clear outside its bounds to avoid whatever was going on within as he carried Owle on toward the East side of the town. He'd wondered earlier what they'd be running into, just who they'd have on their side and what would need to be done. But that was all lost. War meant chaos, however one tried to organize it, and they'd have to act on their feet. He kept an eye on the sky as the neared the East gate.
And he just kept on wishing the pounding of his blood didn't feel quite so pleasant.

((Everyone with a soul within five blocks of the Barton East gate, the last bit of this post is for you.))
"Me neither," Owle replied, staring at the carnage with a sickening feeling in her gut. "I hope Rain's okay in there..." she muttered, then took in a big mental breath.
"Kalis...I don't feel many souls in there. That means robots, or undead, or something else. Things that can't hear me..."
As they neared the city, she was catching glimpses of the zombie horde, taking note of their (presumed) lack of mindsouls.
"Hey! Anybody alive in there! Respond if you're injured and in need of aid!"
She shouted the telepathic message, letting it ring through the east side of Barton for anyone who had a soul. Those it reached would hear the woman's voice in their head, and find themselves able to respond with a thought alone.
((It's safe for me to assume there are random severely injured but still alive NPCs about, right?))

-CRUNCH!!-Quote: Underclothes - Immediately over his skin are Ryugi's underclothes. These consist of a white undershirt, black boxer shorts, and black cotton socks. Layered over these are Ryugi's hidden defenses. Over the white undershirt is a shirt of dragonsteel mail, that extends down to his waist and around his biceps, reinforced by woven dragonsteel threads sent in and out of the tiny mail loops, creating a sort of flexible armor with a thickness of about half an inch. The strands of dragonsteel are left to move about inside the mail in a fluid motion, making the armor thick, defensive, much lighter than regular plate mail, as well as much easier to maneuver in. When hit, the mail also distributes force from physical blows, as well as protects against just about anything less than a solid stab, making it incredibly helpful in hand to hand combat as well as bladed combat. The mail also has a rune on the back, that when energy is sent through it, it slips out of phase with the physical plane, temporarily acting as if it was not there. This can allow Ryugi a vast boost in speed at the cost of defense. Over this is Ryugi's original thick black jacket, which is fireproof and made to resist wear and tear from weapons combat. This, combined with the white overcoat make a formidable defense against most lighter bladed objects like shrapnel. *Lightspeed Dash- Using the ambient heat from his flame abilities, Ryugi can dash in any direction at a high rate of speed, when coupled with sword attacks, it makes for dangerous, high-speed combos that Ryugi could not perform without assistance from his powers. The heat can be released around Ragnarok, allowing the blade to move at high speed for combo attacks as well, making this technique extremely dangerous when used correctly to its full potential. The necromancer wouldn't even be capable of getting a word in edgewise, nor would he ever again, for as he tried to speak, Ryugi's fist would collide with his skull at the full strength of his upgraded power, shattering it, and effectively killing him on impact, as well as splattering his head all over the ground. He would have been moving too fast to see... **** The Boneyard would clamp around him, trapping Ryugi inside of its mouth, only to have its head and nearly half of its body be blown to pieces as a thunderous pulse of energy erupted outward and Ryugi's sword spun around with horrific power, it was then he'd pulse the energy through his mail, causing a great decrease of weight, making Ryugi several upon several times faster. As the explosion sounded and a dust cloud formed around the Boneyard's skull, Ryugi would thunder his aura away from him at maximum power, a maximum burn lightspeed dash, shooting him across the ground at a tremendous rate of speed. Blink and you'd miss him entirely. Not even an afterimage was formed to warn of the attack. The speed was so great, the dust from his form wouldn't even appear until AFTER he'd already struck the necromancer. He'd had enough of his bullshit. As for the golems, they weren't even a threat anymore. He was too fast to worry about them, hastened or not. As the attack on the necromancer went through, the crystals around his form would ALSO rip the man's body to pieces, the heat from Ryugi's aura and the crystals themselves being moved around the small girl that had been taken, doing her no harm, the scythe being useless and without a master to wield it. The wall would still hold up, as the blast from Ryugi's Backlash wouldn't have reached the wall, only the Boneyard as THAT was its intended target. It would seem, though, that Ryugi's Negation attack would have worked on the wall afterall. It was a shame Ryugi hadn't known that. But it ended up working for the best anyway, because the golems would still be stuck behind the wall.

As soon as the boneyard clamped its teeth around Ryugi, his bones would begin to melt, until being saved by the burst of energy coming out of his undergarments. The attack would weaken him, and his bones would be just a bit brittle. Brittle enough, perhaps, to break when hitting something solid, like a necromancer's face?
Ryugi obviously didn't notice the scythe blade pressed against the little girl's neck. The force of the punch would push the necromancer back, and in effect, slice open the little girl's neck from ear to ear. She couldn't even scream as blood came pouring out, because her esophagus had been sliced. Her mouth was open, trying to let out a scream, falling to her knees with a hand to her throat, vainly trying to contain the blood spilling out between her fingers and splattering onto the ground.
She'd be dead in seconds if medical attention wasn't immediately sought for her.
The second necromancer was gone. He didn't have any intentions of fighting a Super Saiyan. The golems were moving swiftly around the wall, getting around to the other side of it in seconds. Dust and bones clattered onto the ground, but when the dust cleared, the boneyard was still there, its serpentine body fluidly reforming itself with other bones. It had absorbed the roasted drow, adding their bones to its form as well, but hardly sated. Dragging it bones across the ground, it thrust forward to attack Ryugi again, while his back was turned, jaws snapping to clamp down on him again.

You provide the drum, I'll provide the strings. Can you hear me now?
By now, they were audible. Like a distant thunder, a constant pulse that was felt in the streets and the heart. She could jump down and do something really flashy, start crabbing and challenging the heroes to a dance fight, but Descant was doing something much more practical... like looking for a body.
"Whoa. Whoa, whoa. Don't step on him." Jumping heads once more, she made her way to the edge of the group the moment she saw a certain Moonblade's body. As her feet touched solid ground, she removed her wrist from her mouth and started flexing her hand. The blood was a bit dark for one who had life, but it flowed. The wrist was turned around, that she may bleed-- rather liberally-- on the corpse.
"Get up," she sighed. "Damned if we won't get more use out of you."Quote: -- Sire : Tier Three-- Blood is offered to fallen flesh, which animates the body and places it under her control until she removes the control. The ability, comparable to a resurrection except that the rezzed are undead, offers only enough healing to reverse the fatal damage, such as closing the heart if it's stabbed. Lesser injuries, cuts and bruises, are ignored. Mass resurrection is possible, but ill-advised for the blood cost. Usable once every four turns. He was already a vampire, so that bit about moving as an undead didn't matter. The moment Moonblade was ready, he was given his free will back and after a moment of watching him and musing, Descant went back to hopping heads until she was on her large man's shoulders again. Of course, Silver was expected to join the ranks, following her even. Not that she actually said it.
A counter melody was started once more as she hopped left and right on the guy's shoulder nimbly.

The golem, still acting upon its last orders, threw chunks of debris out of its way that it didn't feel like floating over, making its way to Maximos as he pulled himself out of the pile of debris he had landed in. It would continue persuing him, until he was destroyed, or it was. The zombies just roamed about mindlessly, looking for something to eat.

Light energy swiftly healed the young girls wounds before they could become fatal. It wasn't the most energy efficient healing method Ryugi had, but with the Boneyard once more attacking from behind, Ryugi didn't really have any other choice. [20] The girl would once again be up and about. RUN!! GET OUT OF HERE!! IT ISN'T SAFE!!! Ryugi turned in just enough time to have the Boneyard upon him. He didn't have enough time to use an attack, but he COULD defend. As the Boneyard snapped at him, he caught its lower jaw with his right arm, his feet digging ruts into the ground before he managed to stop it, grimacing. The battle was wearing on, and Ryugi was beginning to really feel its effects. His stamina was starting to wane, even with the positive energy keeping him in fighting shape. As he came to a halt, he tossed the Boneyard off of him, and swung Hard with Ragnarok, amplifying the strength of the heat from his aura, and sent a powerful slash directly into the beast, the cutting power being enough to cause the slash to cut through the bones that comprised the beast, turning a majority of them into ashes. Ryugi would then jump back and onto the buildings behind him, panting. This battle was getting to be too much for him... Great...things couldn't get much worse... 04 Spriggan You provide the drum, I'll provide the strings. Can you hear me now?

[1/3, 1/2, 1/2] Sonova... Ryugi wouldn't be able to do this alone. He had two massively irritating golem on their way around the wall, and with his luck, his attack wouldn't do much to the Boneyard. Not only that, but he had what SOUNDED like an ARMY approaching his position. And as if to mock him, the fates seemed to have nothing but bad news in store for him, as he spied the woman RAISING Moonblade's corpse. By the Adamants... May whatever deity that watches this place have mercy on the souls of the fallen and the fallen to come...Even Ryugi knew when to quit. He'd fight tooth and nail to protect the innocent, but from what he could see, there WERE no more innocents left to protect...they'd killed them all, and DEFILED them by turning them into that disgusting filth... Ryugi was enraged, he wanted to fight back. But as he looked around, he saw the burning buildings all around the city, he heard no innocent cries of pain, only the moaning of the undead. There was nothing LEFT to save, except the city itself. It was clear that if the destruction of the city was what they'd wanted, the airship floating high in the sky could have bombarded the city from up on high, annihilating it easily. No, these were OCCUPATION forces, and they wanted the city intact. Ryugi felt himself weep for the city, but he had to do something. There WAS one person he could protect. And he quickly jumped down, sweeping up the little girl in his arms, his flames cooling to allow him to protect her small form and zipped out of the city, fighting the urge to try and stop the invading forces against his better judgment. As he left, he spoke to the child... I'm sorry I failed to save your city little one... I...tried my best... I only hope someone more talented than me can rescue it...{Exeunt}

"Zombies again?" Kalis laughed.
The motorcycle pulled up alongside Barton Town's East gate, and Kalis slowed, stopping just a few yards inside the town. He planted a foot and waited for Owle to get off of the motorcycle before he turned it off, and did the same.
Pulling the goggles up away from his eyes, he looked down the street, and around, checking first for any sign of conflict in their immediate area, and then for sign of where the s**t might be going down if he didn't have anything more pressing to worry about. "I thought those were contained in Agrippinna. Did they get loose, or is this supposed to be a common type of thing?" He snorted at that idea.
"Someone must be cheap, using recycled soldiers."

There were several zombies milling about. Since they no longer had anyone to control them, they were basically going on instinct now... and hunger. The latter would suddenly be directed at the pair arriving in motorcycle. Then all Hells would break loose, and it would suddenly look like a scene from Dawn of the Dead, with zombies running toward them with hungry looks in their dead eyes.

One remaining.
Maximos' voice said back along the telepathic channel. He could recognize Owle's voice, and perhaps she would recognize his despite its being wholly devoid of emotion or feeling.
His right arm was almost constantly raging and flowing with energy. It was an animal, fierce and on a thin leash that barely held it in place. Maximos himself however, was not nearly as, "invincible". His breath was sporadic at best, and he had taken a monstrous beating, what with being sent flying backwards into a pile of wreckage. Blood trickled down his neck, face, and especially down his left arm.
His left eye blinked, trying to flit the blood away from his view. It was very important he be able to see, especially with the flying debris getting ever closer to his position. His he took in a deep breath tasting thick irony vitae and sandy powered drywall, which he immediately spat onto the scattered rocks, letting out the tightly compressed air. His arm twitched and sparked, what almost appeared to be steam seeping from the extended length of the massive limb before it finally unraveled leaving only an average sized arm coated in the black warped metal.
Black metal talons screeched as they gridded against each other. His white eye pulsed once, as his view locked on the approaching Golem. A pink tongue slipped out from between his lips to wipe away any excess red...he was ready. A solid sort of "Bring it On", look etched across his dusty face.
