Waylon drove around the back of Pamela's aprtment and into the carpool garage.
Helena smiled and kissed her friend on the cheek "all the same, good luck and don't do anything I would do sober."

Pamela leaned in and kissed Helena back. "Goodbye darling, thanks for being so sweet and taking me out today. I'll let you know when I make it back home." She arched an eyebrow. "I wouldn't do anything you'd do drunk darling." She walked around to the drivers window and kissed Waylon on the cheek. "Goodbye darling, don't fall in love and get married while I'm away." She waved them both off and made her way back to her room. She turned on the answering machine to see if Vic had called her with an address.

Vic's voice spoke out the speaker of her answering machine "Pamela, come by my shop if you're still curious about my line of work. If you wish to, I recommend that you wear something you won't mind getting dirty."

Pamela picked up the phone and called the front desk to inform them she'd be requiring a taxi and to have one wait for her. She then proceeded to put her clothing up and took a quick shower. She slipped on the fitted flannel shirt, the jeans, thick socks, and hiking boots that Helena had helped her pick out. She slipped her hair into a high ponytail giving a small spritz of perfume. She opted for no makeup this time. Had anyone ever seen her bare faced before?
Figuring it would be wiser to leave her purse behind she grabbed some cash and slipped it in her back pocket. She grabbed her keys and headed downstairs where a taxi was waiting for her. She hopped into the vehicle giving the directions to Vic's store. Upon arrival she paid the driver and entered the shop. "Mr. Sage?"

Vic stepped out from his office wearing a casual suit and overcoat "I half expected that you wouldn't come, come on back... please don't touch anything." Inside Vic's office, each wall was lined with strange objects on shelves, jars or mysterious organs and tiny creatures, relics and ancient artifacts. Across from his desk was a large aquarium where the recently caught Kappa was swimming.

She smirked. "You half expected or half hoped?" She followed behing him quietly looking at all of his oddities. Boy was Helena vague when she had said this man was odd.
Pamela walked up to the aquarium to get a better look at the creature. She looked at Vic. "Where are you taking him in those clothes? An opera?"

Vic looked down at his suit "Opera? No no no, I need to first make sure the ponds in Gotham Park are safe for him. For now he'll stay here." Pulling a notebook from his desk, Vic looked through a list of possible jobs that could be safe enough for her to come along on.

"And if they aren't?" She smiled at the creature, watching it swim quite elegantly.

Vic note down a small note, settling on a small job "well then I'll have to make it safe for him, or he'll have to be released out side the city, or he'll be taken to Chinatown where he'll put on an exotic foods menu." Vic walked over to a jar of pickled frog legs and pulled a few out, dropping them into the tank for the Kappa to eat, holding the severed frog legs in its claws and chewing the meat off the bone.

She looked at Vic smirking. "I'm sure he'd make great company for you. With all the things you have holed up in here it wouldn't hurt if one of them was alive. Everyone needs a companion, Mr.Sage."

Vic folded the note into his inner coat pocket "I find company in my work. If I were to take a pet, I won't be a Kappa, they're notorious trouble makers and thieves. Stealing random objects and pulling women's skirts up. I can't risk it breaking open a cursed jar and dooming mankind to a thousand years of darkness." Vic closed the lid on the aquarium and locked it.

She gave a soft chuckle. "I find it highly ironic that you don't like the idea of such excitement considering your line of work," she teased. "Besides, the only animal that wouldn't die of boredom under your watch would no doubt be one that creates it own entertainment."

Vic nodded and walked with Pamela out of his office "all the same, I'd rather not risk it, for its sake and the world." Once they were outside, Vic locked up his shop "a resident in a penthouses in one of the highrises apartments has a problem with some creature in their fireplace. Its most likely a Jersey Devil, a trapped Vampire bat, or a if we're lucky a pigeon."

She blew a playful kiss goodbye to the little monster.
"Let me guess," she said. "These monsters are no where near as cut and cuddly as the one in your aquarium." Her curiosity and her nerves conflicted with one another.

Vic walked with Pamela "possibly, it all depends on them. Pigeons are a common nuisance in New York, a Vampire bat should only be a problem if it has rabbis or is a real vampire in disguise. If its a Jersey Devil... well if I tell you to run, don't back talk." He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small notebook, opening it to a sketching on a Jersey Devil along with some noteable facts "luckily they're a hard to come by species, which either means they're good at hiding or almost extinct."
