Tails was happy Dante could easily take care of the robots. Seeing as he was useless, and Doll just seemed to like floating there, Dante was the most effective member of this trio.

Luna took out her hammer, smashing a few robots with it.
Rouge threw bombs at the remaining robots, blowing them to peices.

Justin gave his team a thumbs up, then continued onward. A few of the ship's guns fired on him, but he dodged them and froze the barrels shut, causing them to explode.
Dante looked to the two foxes, signaling them to move, as he began running.

"Let's make our way to the control room. Maybe we can make this ship ram into the others. Y'know, making sure the others aren't on them first." Rouge suggested, throwing a bom down a gun's barrel, exploding it.
Luna nodded. "I'm all for it." She said.

Justin nodded, running to find the control room, icing a few robots on the way.
A bunch of robots appeared, and Dante pulled out an odd Devil Arm, a guitar named Nevan. He strummed it expertly, and the robots were ravaged by lightning.

(He can shoot guns, he can kick butt, he can play guitar....What can't Dante do? : P)
Rouge found the control room, and kicked open the door, throwing bombs in and blowing up the robots(making sure not to destroy any machinery, of course). She ran over to the controls. "Seems we're on one of the main ships. It has servailence camera veiws of some of the others." She said, typing in things on the monitor.
"Do you really think we can change the course of the ship?" Luna asked, shouldering her hammer and walking around.
"Probably. I may be a great treasure hunter, but also a pretty good hijacker."

Justin nodded. "Before we start ramming stuff, we gotta let the others no, so we don't hit them too." He told Rouge.

"Got it. Now, If I can just figure out how to....That's not what I meant to do at all." A video of Sonic, Knuckles, and Shadow onboard another ship and entering a room appeared on the monitor. Their voices were audible.
"Heh, honestly, I expected more of a defense system. It's like Metal WANTS us to kick his a**." Knuckles said, smirking.
"I know, right? Either that, or he's just incredibly weak." Sonic chuckled.

Dante put Nevan away, then looked to Tails. "All I've seen here are robots, kid. Not much else in the way of security here. I smell a trap." He told him.

(By the way, Justin is in the room with Luna and Rouge, right? 'Cause there's about to be a big explanation....)
Metal Sonic's deep, slightly-mechanical sounding voice suddenly rang out through the air fleet. From the way Sonic and Knuckles were glancing around in the video, they could hear it as well.
"You fools must all have a death wish? With this battle fleet, I, in my newly created form, shall eliminate all life on this planet, rebuilding from the ashes with a select few survivors, while I rule over the new empire. Anyone who resists is to be terminated. But for you eight, it is too late to back out and retreat. If you are lucky, perhaps I will spare your pathetic life. Until we meet again...." Soft laughter followed.

Tails had paled, and Doll simply looked deep in thought.

"JUST YOU WAIT, COWARD! I'LL KICK YOUR BUTT, YOU HEAR ME?!" Sonic yelled, shaking his fist angrily.
"Sonic...." Knuckles said slowly, obviously noticing something. "It's a dead end."
They both spun around upon hearing the door slide close.
Shadow was next to the close-open switch for it. He had no expression on his face.
"Shadow, You realize you just locked us in here, right?" Sonic said in disbelief.

Rouge and Luna watched the video blankly, as if sucked into it.

Justin wasn't shocked by Shadow's actions. He had been crazy lately, so it was something he guessed would happen. He simply glared at the screen.
Dante sighed. "Looks like we might hit a bit of a snag. We still gotta stop this tin can, though." He told his group.

Tails nodded. "Where should we head to next?"

"Nice job. Nice job." Sonic said sarcastically, turning and glancing around for an exit. "Why did he say it's too late for us eight, if there's nine of us?"
Knuckles just stared at Shadow for a few minutes. Finally, he said quietly, "So it's you. You're the spy." It wasn't unbelievable, the way he'd been acting lately, but....Shadow had gone through so much with the others. Why turn on them all of a sudden..?
"Yes. It took you morons long enough to even guess I was up to something." Shadow said, in almost a whisper. His hand remained on the lever, as he didn't take his eyes off it either. "I never went to Saudia Arabia. I never even blew up the TOME headquarters. I went back there."
"What I don't get is why? You know how twisted they are. You saw what happened to Luna when they kidnapped her! She was pale and freaked at the slightest things! How could you join a group that not only went against your friends, but your girlfriend?!"
Shadow's grip tightened on the handle. He seemed to tense up. "I could never help those bastards in any way. Not ever...."
"Then why did you-?" Sonic began, catching on to the situation. (finally >_>)
"You misunderstand. Doll was using it as a base while he fixed Metal. I joined them. Or rather, I joined Metal...."

Dante had an idea. "Tails, I say we find the controls to the guns on this ship. Raise some hell, ya know?" He told him. The kid was a genius, so for him, hacking the weapon systems of the ship would be easy.
Justin glared at Shadow on the screen. "He is so getting an icicle through the brain." He whispered to himself, not wanting Luna to hear.

"Shadow, you've tried to destroy the Earth before, but that was because you lost your memory and thought a promise you made was to eliminate people, when it was to save them. Here, you don't have a reason!" Sonic said, crossing his arms.
"I will make people happy, by making a world where they CAN be happy. In this one, all you can do is suffer." Shadow said quietly. His eyes looked at the ground, his hand slowly removing itself from the handle. "I can't let Luna go through pain, and I can't let anyone go through pain." He gradually took out a pistol, staring down at it.
"Shadow, listen to us. This is INSANE. Do you really think Metal will make a GOOD empire? NO! He'll make one where life is MISERABLE!" Knuckles said angrily, and pointed out at nothing in particular, just air. "If you really want to make Luna estatic, then drop this completely ridiculous idea, help us kick Metal's a**, AND GO SPEND TIME WITH THE DAMN GIRL!"
"None of you get it." Shadow muttered, checking if the gun had ammo.
"We get that you've completely lost it! Does that count?!"

Rouge absent-mindedly embraced Luna in a hug, but neither took their eyes off the video.

Dante nodded, running off in search of the weapons control center.
Justin watched the screen with horror. "I have to go stop this! Rouge, take care of Luna!' He said, running off in a sprint.

Shadow pointed at gun at Knuckles, not looking at the part-echidna.
Knuckles' eyes widened. He took a step back. "Lower the gun, Shadow. I said lower it! LOWER THE GUN, SHADOW!"
"It was good knowing you, Knux." He pulled the trigger.
Knuckles fell to his knees, then onto his stomach, hand over his chest. His eyes were closed.
"KNUCKLES!" Sonic shouted. He glared at Shadow. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
"Nothing. I feel better then ever." Shadow replied, throwing the gun on the floor.

Luna hid her face in Rouge's shoulder, unable to watch anymore.
Rouge rubbed Luna's back comfortingly, staring at the life-less body of Knuckles on the screen.

"I can just teleport us there." Doll said, tilting his head to the side as Dante ran off.
