Lin wondered if in a way it would as if the two never slept with Shiro being awake at night and Ura being awake during the day.
"Does this lack of energy go both ways?" Lin asked.

"Possibly," Ura shrugged - and then he grinned. "Or maybe not. I can be quite lazy. Save the energy for him. Who knows?"
He flicked one ear. "Something you wanted from me?" he asked, looking up at the two of them.

"Actually," Lin replied, "We were wondering how Shiro was doing it's been a long while and no one has visited back to the village since the first visit."
Not that it would be possible now that everyone had moved which meant they were going to have to be shown the way again.

"Good," Ura grinned. "He's doing really good. Well. Very well, I should say. He's having a lot of fun, and you know how he is. He's not shy. He asks anyone anything if he thinks they'll answer him. So he's learning a lot - which really is good for all our sakes, since Kelirahc will be coming with us when we leave."
His grin grew wider. "He and Leyenda finally decided."

In the months they had been here Lin had forgotten about that. Which was probably just as well if she had remembered she would have only made herself a bundle of nerves.
"Really?" she smiled.
She was glad Leyenda was staying even if she was a bit sad that they would be taking Kelirahc away from such an ideal place.

Ura closed his eyes and nodded. "They've got some long explanation, you'll have to ask them if you want to hear what it is," he said, his tone slightly bored. "Personally I don't think she was ready to leave her family - which, I can't blame her for. Besides, they can come back and visit any time they want."
He cracked his eye open again and looked up at Lin. "She's been practicing summoning her mark when you two were gone."

That was true Lin thought they could fly here and she was sure that would be much shorter than sailing. She couldn't help but wonder how short it would be to fly from here to back home on a dragon.
Lin eyes gleamed at that, that had to be a sight, "How is that going?"

Ura pursed his lips as he thought about it. "It's ... hard to tell, actually," he admitted. "You would have to ask her. I know she's frustrated, but Kelirahc seems pleased enough with her efforts."
Though he had to admit as well that she seemed to be doing a lot better with it this past week, even though she wasn't practicing as much as she had before.

Of course it would be hard to tell how difficult it would be to do something like that. Kelirahc from what she remembered though was sort of special in that regard too, on top of being the youngest he was also quite talented.
"Well it's a different sort of magic than what most would be use to...." Lin murmured thoughtfully, "Interesting...."

"Different from what the people of this world are used to, perhaps," Ura corrected, "but in our world I'm sure there's at least something similar. I mean ... tattoos or birthmarks that actually mean something? That can do something magically?"

Lin looked thoughtful for a moment, "Oh probably... actually."
She paused for a moment, Lin was more familiar with the magical clans than most thanks to Vincent.
"There is a clan actually that do use tattoos, I'm told they move on the body you know like the way Serenity's paintings would move on canvas... I don't know much about them though. It's Gaia though, if you look hard enough it is possible to find something at least similar."
Except for special plants, she had yet to find plants like the few that could be found in the Borderlands.

"Exactly," Ura nodded. "Gaia's got just about everything. Anything we see here, there's a pretty good chance that it's also in Gaia. Somewhere. Somehow. Even if we haven't seen it ourselves."
He looked thoughtful. "Though it would be pretty neat if Kelirahc's and Leyenda's marks would move," he mused with a grin.

"But I wasn't referring to Gaia when I said that," Lin replied softly and amused, "People do not normally travel between worlds like one would walk through a door."
And this she knew, while the concept of altered dimensions was a confusing one she knew that doing what they did on purpose was normally a difficult and dangerous task. It just so happened that their worlds were connected and that is why could do this.
"Moving marks would shock some people...."

Ura shrugged. "Even so. But I do agree, it is a different kind of magic than is usually seen in this world. It's not innate, it's not a magical object - it's a magic bestowed, the first of such magic we have seen or heard of in this world. It's not even a matter of learning - it has to be given."
"Which until we came here I didn't even know was possible," Earendil admitted. "But what are the requirements for receiving one, I wonder ... and does everyone in the village get one? Or just people who earn one?"

"It's earned.... which the question is how are they earned... I mean besides saving a person, which is how the woman whom we saw receive her mark, and how Kellirahc received his."
She had to think about it, one would think she would remember if she saw a mark on everyone there. Then again it was hard to tell the age and the general age was in the twenties from her memory.
