Aury ran at Seraph and snapped her sharp teeth in his face, knocking him to the ground.

she giggled.
"sure you want to hunt with me?"

Aury smiled, her blue eyes glowing vibrantly.

"well duh, daddy thats how id kill a buck "
Aury smiled sweetly.

"Well seeing as mah bounty hunter brother seems ta be a hotspot fer the media right now, the fact that there's an all too famous author out there that actually knows him would attract quite a lot of interviews.

He hates giving insight inta his personal life, and with good reason. Giving the impression that Seraph and ye can answer all the mystery clouding him that the media craves is exactly the distraction that would let him git away and focus.

Now obviously ye wouldn't really tell what ye know about mah brother, the secrets yall learned on that island are yers to hold ferevermore, but ye could twist it inta some sorta conversation about his help after ye washed up. Relate it ta the book somehow, saying that reality couldn't possibly have happened the way things on that island did, but the wolf in the story was based loosely on mah brother's care fer yer safety and the island's welfare."

Looking at his paws he kinda missed seeing Wolf, who hadn't requested his presence in quite some time, but by the same token Aury had never specificly asked for Wolf to come to her, only for Red to deliver messages in her name to him, but even those had stopped as of recent. Both brother's had kept thier promises to the letter, he kept Aury safe, and Wolf stayed away but kept touch...untill she needed him. No such occasion ever came up where she called out for him, so he stayed away.

He hated understanding why Wolf hadn't ever come. Maybe when she saw him again she'd see the truth, but Red wasn't allowed to say it for his brother, that had to come from his heart.

Maybe when she was asleep he'd vanish to where he was quickly, not to see him, but just to check to see if he still kept something...

"Gah...after all this time ye'd think ye'd see that even a small contribution helps a lot. From Aury's first doll ta 5 more minutes with the press offa Wolf, it all helps in the big picture. And don't play yerself down, yer book was great, Seraph just has a bit more experience ahead of ye. Number two is no laughing number."

Aury layed down on the ground with a bowl of warm milk.
she began to lap it up.

she went to her room and looked up.
the moon was full.
she missed Wolf.

She puffed out her chestr and Bayed at the moon, for long hours she sat there crying to the moon.
Asking her for her Wolf back.

/Wolf was finally away from all the damn reporters. He could watch the target in peace. He walked off the bus right on schedule. Wolf had a perch from a high up tower, had his rifle set up, even though there was no intent to use it, the scope and stand made much better eyes than any binoculars ever could.

The winds were shifting. He willed for the weather to calm, but it wouldn't listen. He sniffed the air, and could taste feline fur. For the first time in two years...she was actually trying to reach him directly...and not just through his brother.

He set down the gun. Some things were more important than money.

Crossing his arms Wolf closed his eyes and attuned himself to nature, feeling what had to be said.

Red burst into flames next to him. "Ye b*****d. She's-"

"Shut up. I know. I'm listening as ye yap. Let meh focus."

Red opened and closed his mouth briefly several times, but said nothing. Just crossed his arms and sat next to his brother, fuming at him.

He heard her cries to the Moon Goddess, her plea for Wolf to come home.

He opened his eyes and lit a cigarette, then began dissassembling the rifle and putting it away.

"I've gotta find her."
"Ye cant be serious. Yer so close ta this mark and yer just gonna pass it up? Ye've not seen her in two years, whats another two days?"
"I made a promise Red. Same as ye. And untill now we've both kept it."
"But..she's...they're..."

He shook his head as he climbed down the fire escape with the guncase on his back.
"No Red. I'm not gonna pass her up. I owe her that much, I need ta give her back her doll."
"I wish ye'd think about this a little more..."
"I thought about it every day for the last two years. Every day since I found the doll in my boat. I've never let it get lost or broken."
"Shall I tell her? What if she's makin plans ta do somethin?"

Wolf unlocked the precious saddlebag and pulled out the doll, stroking the ragged hair and smiling, a tear falling down his cheek. He stuck it in an inner pocket in his leather jacket.

"If she had plans, ye'd have already said em by now. Either she's free fer mah findin her, or she's gonna kill me when she sees meh. Doesn't matter. I'm gonna go ta her. I'll leave mah bike at mah hotel ta make it look like I'm still hunting here, but I'm leavin immediatly."

"...Since there's no winnin with ye, just be safe, and don't lose yer head. Yer gonna be on foot. Other hunters may take that as an advantage ta knock ye out of the competition."

"I've still got things ta do Red. I can't die so easily, ye know that. This doll needs ta be returned."

Red faded away...feeling bad that he was leading his brother away from his mark, even though the family was heading that way soon.
"Oh well...at least she'll see him. It's a good thing she travels on foot like he does, or else it would be hard fer him ta catch her in a car like Seraph and Glen will be."

Wolf got to his hotel, locked Roxanne up in the paid private garage, gathered a few personal affects, his old knife, and a loaf of bread. Then he locked the room and started his trek after stretching out his muscles from the ride. A slow trot, then to a full long distance run, when he got out of city and into rural forest he calmed down to a walk and looked up at the moon.

Their moon.

He bayed and howled, hoping she would get the message he was sending.

"I'm still here...I heard you and will see you."

((actually he was in rhode island...which is LIKE virginia...just not lol, but if you recall wolf also taught her how to project her thoughts across the world with nature))

((-_- obviously US history is not yer strong point, lol. virginia is like 4 or 5 states below rhode island. RI is the tiny little state thats part of the new england states but we still love ye, lol))
