Raising one eyebrow at Peter, Eduard smirked, "No need to be formal, remember?" he asked before opening the carriage door and indicating that Peter get out first. He didn't want to give the weathered tailor a heart attack, jumping out in his attire first thing. "Might be better if you go in first... so as not to give the man a fright."

P e t e r - W i n t e r s"But I'm just a mere gard'ner, sir. 'Twouldn't be right if I addressed you as any less." He winked before hopping out in a boyish fashion. He actually seemed more like a paper boy than a gardener, but clothing styles for most working class occupations didn't differ much. Peter waved to the old man, who thankfully didn't recognize him. They had only met once when Peter was around nine years old, after all. Peter turned around and respectfully waited for Eduard to step out.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Silently, Eduard was hoping he didn't scare the old man. Stepping from the carriage, the Marquess gave Peter a look that was entirely amused. Not just at the change in the young actor's voice... but by his very mannerisms. Somehow... it all just seemed to fit Peter. Far better than the society he had suddenly been thrust into did. For a split second, Eduard actually felt sad that Peter could never be a 100% true part of the aristocratic society. "I do suppose you have a point." the Marquess spoke, giving off an air of complete confidence and warmth. He was friendly... and yet unattainable at the same time. Quite a quandary...

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter smiled. He and Eduard were now completely in character. They were both very good actors, and Peter was sure that his would be pulled off without a single hitch. At the sight of the aristocrat, the withered man within jumped. He started fretting with his shop, trying to tidy things up. Sure, he could have gained the fact that there was to be an aristocrat also from the carriage, but he probably had been hoping that it would be someone else. Anyone but an aristocrat. Peter opened the door, causing the bell to chime. "Mr. Thomas?" Peter queried, having gotten the name from the sign. He stepped aside respectfully to let Eduard inside. Mr. Thomas had stopped all of his fretting and now just nervously played with one of the buttons on his shirt, wondering whether or not he should make eye contact with Eduard.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

"Good day, sir." Eduard spoke with a pleasant smile as he stepped into the clothing shop, his violet gaze focusing on the shirts and pants, hats and shoes. "I do apologize for startling you, but I came in hopes of finding a few gifts to give the father of my gardener here." with one gloved hand, he indicated Peter. "He did such a fine job on my garden, that I wanted to reward his entire family... and since he tells me that his father wears the same size as I, well... I supposed it would hardly be troublesome if I went along and clothing was picked out that would fit my frame and thus, his father's." Oh yes, it was certainly an aristocratic way of speaking. He could have explained everything in a simple sentence... But words were everything. The more the merrier it seemed.

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter felt quite awed that Eduard could change his manner so quickly. This was how Peter viewed that the aristocrat should have been on the day that they had first met. But now that he knew Eduard more, he was glad that the noble was so different. Peter didn't know how his life would be if he hadn't accepted the job, or if he hadn't even met Marquess Michaels. The tailor nodded. "O-Oh yes." Certainly, it was a little odd of a request for a noble to make, but the tailor would say nothing. Mr. Thomas came around quickly from behind his counter and held out his hands hesitantly. Peter knew what Mr. Thomas was about to do and stepped in to help out the frightened soul. Peter held out his hands beside Eduard and murmured, "Marquess, your jacket please." Mr. Thomas relaxed visibly and waited as Peter took Eduard's coat. And then, Mr. Thomas shakily asked, "If you please, M-Marquess..." He motioned for the Marquess to raise his arms for easier measurement.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Shrugging out of his jacket, violet eyes locked on Peter's own gaze for a just split second. The actor would easily be able to see that the change wasn't just in how the Marquess held himself. It went down to the man's very core... Handing Peter the jacket, Eduard raised his arms to allow for the measurements. "You will be well paid, Mr. Thomas... so I do hope your measurements are precise. A nervous demeanor could mean a mistake, after all." In other words, the Marquess was attempting to give the tailor a tiny bit of a confidence boost. However, not only did it serve that purpose, but it allowed for Eduard to SEEM a bit more full of himself than usual. All part of the image... One that Eduard personally disliked. But if he had entered the shop under his usual temperament, he highly doubted that the tailor would have believed his reasons.

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter was startled when he saw Eduard's eyes, but he recovered quickly. He smiled inwardly. Eduard was definitely a good actor. If he had been born anything but a noble, acting would likely have been his calling. But the effect of Eduard's change wasn't lost on Peter. Peter shivered also. Eduard seemed so different that it was hard for Peter to believe that there wasn't a part of him that was just naturally like this. After all, it definitely seemed more of an aristocratic manner than Eduard's usual demeanor was. The tailor smiled slightly when Eduard offered his nudge of encouragement, and though he didn't reply, it was clear that the tailor was more confident in his movements. He quickly finished his measurements and smiled slightly at Peter as he walked behind the counter to retrieve a notepad. "Sir," he murmured, still a little shaky. "What exactly would you like?"L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Eduard feigned interest in looking at a few pairs of shoes while waiting for the tailor to get everything written down and prepared. When addressed however, the Marquess frowned, "That decision, I leave to my gardener. He has more knowledge in the styles of dress of the common workman, after tall, than I." Well, it WAS the truth. Turning to Peter, Eduard smiled coldly so as to seem detached from the young actor. "Pick anything you deem fit."

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter nodded politely. "Sir," he murmured as he walked past Eduard towards the Tailor. Eventually, the the tailor and he decided on four of each piece, each slightly a different style. Peter hoped that Eduard would be okay with his choice, since personally, they would be according to Peter's taste. He turned to Eduard and approached slowly. "Marquess Michaels," he murmured, patiently standing by. "There is the... initial fee." Peter hoped that Eduard thought far enough to pick some shoes too, since Eduard would definitely need shoes, but it would be out of order for Peter to mention anything about it, for not only was it not in a gardener's place to mention, but it also would make him seem ungrateful, since it was all for his "father" after all. Asking more in a reward was against all notions of etiquette.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Seemingly interested once more, Eduard rose one eyebrow at Peter's voice. "Just shirts and pants? Come now, surely your father would want more than that." He drew out a few pieces of silver, enough to buy a fourth of the store, and tossed them to the Tailor. "Pick out a couple pairs of shoes, socks, hat, coat, scarf and gloves. Anything you think would be needed, buy it." his violet eyes fell on Peter in a manner that would tell the tailor that the Marquess was a bit exasperated. "I told you to buy four entire wardrobes, after all."

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter nodded, "Sir." He backed away in pretend fright. After all, "Marquess Michaels" wasn't quite nice to be around when he was exasperated. Peter knew the signs well enough and turned back to the tailor, who looked quite petrified. Peter shuffled over to the tailor and immediately engaged him in quiet conversation. He drew out various things, and pointed at a couple of things on the shelves. Eventually, Peter was sure that he actually had enough to probably fill four complete wardrobes, shoes and all. Mr. Thomas pulled out the pieces of silver that Eduard had tossed him and told Peter that this was enough to pay for it all completely with quite a bit to spare. Peter knew Eduard well enough to refuse any change, and nodded politely to the tailor as they finished talking. "Marquess," he murmured, turning to Eduard. "We are finished." He scratched his brown hair sheepishly. "Thank you, sir. I'm sure my father is more than grateful, and so am I." It added perfectly to the act.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

One dark eyebrow rose, "I am quite sure you are." Eduard replied before turning and grabbing his coat from a nearby rack. He put the garment on, pulling his long hair out, the dark purple locks flowing over the back of his jacket. "Good day then, sir." the Marquess spoke before leading the way from the shop and back into the carriage.
Not two seconds after Peter sat down, Eduard cracked a mischievous smile. "So... convincing enough?" he asked before laughing softly. "I suppose acts like that make an aristocrat seem like quite the b*****d to those not privy to their secrets, hmm?"

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter found himself sighing in relief when Eduard smiled. He laughed himself and couldn't stop for quite a while. "You..." He shook his head and continued laughing, eventually falling back and subconsciously leaning on Eduard's shoulder. "You don't know how glad I am..." He held a hand up to his chest to calm himself. "It was convincing. Perhaps too convincing." Unknown to him, Peter had had a fear that Eduard was actually like that somewhere deep down, for it only seemed fitting. He reached over and hugged Eduard tightly, eventually relaxing his grip, though not letting go. He had temporarily forgotten that it wasn't quite right for him to do this, nor in proper etiquette. He didn't even realize his action. It just felt right. "I was worried that somehow... deep down... you were actually like that." Peter buried his head in Eduard's shoulders and shuddered a little. "It was... scary." He flashed Eduard a soft smile though, to show that he wasn't crying, and that he was actually quite all right. "Just a little shaken. It was fun though."((Sorry for the sudden touchy-feely stuff, but for some reason, I just felt like writing so...)) L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Laughing once more, Eduard put one arm around Peter, actually pulling the young actor closer to him. "Deep down? Hardly. No... actually..." he suddenly seemed very thoughtful. "There was a time when I was like that... I want to be honest about it, Peter, so I'm telling you now. There were a few years where I acted like that to everyone I met. I suppose I grew out of it or something of the nature... Sebastian claims that it was almost an overnight transformation. As if something had made me realize that acting that way was hardly honorable or right for a man to portray himself." sighing, the Marquess leaned his head back against the carriage. "When I examined that side of me later in life, I realized that it coincided with my introduction to the world of theatre. I simply realized that the act of self-important that I showed to everyone was just that... an act. Since then, I have lived and acted as I wished, well, within decorum of course." he added with a smile.
