“And I thought the Darkness was bad…xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt doesn’t even compare to this Hell.” Riku was about to question her but the bell rang, cutting him off. She quickly stood and made a swift dash for the door. Riku stood as quickly as he could. "Hikari!" he called after her. He stopped, frozen by his seat. Hikari? Where had that come from? She had never mentioned her name so...The silvernette pushed it from his mind and left the room in a huff.

Ηικαŕι She heard her name behind her, and recognized the voice. Stopping at the sound, Hikari tried to figure out how he knew her name. She had never told anyone her name before, so how would he know? All of a sudden she was torn between going to her History class or turning around and talk to Riku now. But it still felt like it was too soon. Biting her lip, she hesitantly walked onward, deciding that it would be best to wait until they met at the Secret Place.

“And I thought the Darkness was bad…xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt doesn’t even compare to this Hell.” Hikari wasn't in the hall by the time he reached it. He sighed. Why had he called out that name? he'd never heard it in his life. Riku ignored it all and just went to his next class. not caring about anything but the end of the day.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora sighed heavily as Kairi took the letter with trembling hands. Suddenly, the girl wrapped her arms around him. His eyes widened and his heart skipped a beat, but he quickly regain composure and hugged her back. She needed this right now. When she released him, he grinned at her. He scooted closer next to her and watched as she opened the envelope. She held it so he could read it too, which is what he did.
The brunette was a slower reader than Kairi, but he read it silently on his own anyway. Dearest Kairi, the letter began. We know that we have not been with you for most of your life, but you must understand how much you mean to us. When Radiant Garden was taken by the Heartless, we thought we'd lost you forever. However, after our world returned to its original state, we heard that you had survived and now lived in this world, the Destiny Islands. We were so overjoyed to hear that you survived! Now that things have settled down and we've all returned to normal lives, we would love to have you back in our arms. All our lives we've wished to see you, all grown up. The school here is starting up, and we have permission to provide you with transportation back home. Sweetheart, we love you so very much and would give anything to have you return. We can be the family we've all always wanted. We can't wait to hear from you. Your loving parents. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Kairi's heart began to beat very fast when Sora hugged her back. He grinned at her and she returned the smile. Her heart continued to race as she opened the letter and Sora scooted closer next to her. The moment she had unfolded the letter and held it up for both of them to read, the crimsonette quickly began reading the letter silently to herself. When she had finished her heart stopped and she dropped the letter. She couldn't believe what it said. The parents that had given birth to her, whom she had never met, were alive and wanted to start a new life over with her. Once again a mixture of emotions tore through Kairi, and again tears welled up in her eyes. She was overjoyed to hear that her parents were alive and well, and that they wanted to see her. The princess longed to meet them too, but leave Destiny Islands and go live with them in Radiant Garden? Leave Destiny High and go to school there. And most important to Kairi: Leave her friends and foster parents?! The people who she had grown up with, who she had known for basically her entire life, the people she loved and cared for more then anything else. Kairi felt so divided. To her it felt like someone had stabbed her in the chest and sliced her heart right in half. Kairi sat on the bed and slowly began silently sobbing. After a minute, in between sobs, she croaked "What... What am I- What am I going to do?"

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... It took a couple moments more for Sora to finish the letter in comparison to Kairi. When she asked her question, he was at the last sentence. Some sound caught in his throat, and he wasn't sure exactly what that sound was. His eyebrows arched down as he thought hard. What was he supposed to tell her? Of course he was horrified by the contents of the letter. How could her parents expect her to suddenly leave everything she'd ever known? How could they expect her to leave him and her other friends? But... what if this was what Kairi wanted?
The brunette's expressioned softened as he thought about this. It was possible that maybe Kairi would want a normal life. Maybe -- after all the chaos that had been caused by the darkness that had torn her life apart -- she wanted to be with her real parents in her real home, and make some real friends. But he was her real friend. He, Riku, Namine... they all were. She couldn't possibly want to go, could she? "Well... I-- uh... I-- I dunno..." he began, hesitating and unsure. "You could write them back. Tell them what you want to do." Whatever that is, he thought to himself. He hoped with everything he had that she wanted to stay with him on the islands. But, he wanted her to be happy, more than anything. If living with her real family would make her happy, he wanted her to do that. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Ηικαŕι Upon reaching her class, Hikari sat down just as she heard Kairi and Sora opened the letter, but it seemed that they were reading it quietly as there was a silence that followed. The cat moved silently into the room, sinking into the floor and hid in the shadow of a dresser, where he was able to look over Sora's shoulder and read the letter, forwarding its contents to Hikari. Her eyes widened at what the Princess's parents wanted by having her move. She knew right away that it couldn't happen. Visit, maybe, but not to live permanently, and Hikari had a way. But the problem was, was that she couldn't reach the two for now. She would need to speak to both of them if it was to work, especially Kairi. Keep on them. she instructed the cat, sitting down at her desk in History class.

Kairi Kairi sat on her bed, completely dumbfounded, crying her eyes out. She felt like such an idiot and was extremely embarrassed that Sora had to see her like this. When the brunette answered her saying he didn't know, suggesting to her that she write her parents back telling them what she wanted to do. But that was the thing. Kairi had no idea what she wanted to do. She couldn't possibly leave her foster parents and friends, it would break their hearts. On the other hand, if she didn't go she would break her parents hearts, the parents who were overjoyed to hear that she had survived and who longed to see her again. Kairi normally was an indecisive person so this decision completely overwhelmed her. She didn't want to hurt anybody. She just wanted everyone to be happy. But how was she going to make this work out so that all her loved ones were happy?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora watched, completely helpless as Kairi continued to bawl. She didn't say a thing to him, just kept crying. There was a lump in his throat now. Maybe she should just go visit her parents. Then she could come back, and maybe bring them with her. That wasn't such a bad solution. He felt bad for her loving foster parents, though. This must be really hard for them. The door was opened, and he guessed they could hear them from downstairs.
Instinctively, Sora took Kairi's hand in his own, trying to calm her. "Kairi, please don't cry," he begged quietly. It really hurt him to see her crying. "We'll figure something out. We can go visit them, and bring them back here. Does that sound good? Come on." He stood up and pulled her to the doorway. "Let's go talk to your... other parents." He started out of the bedroom, but then something caught his eye. He looked around the room, feeling that someone was watchig him again. He turned and left, having seen nothing, though he could have sworn the dresser's shadow had shifted. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Kairi continued to cry, feeling like a complete and utter fool. She looked up suddenly when Sora took her hand into his own trying to calm her, pleading for her to not cry. The crimsonette wiped her face and took several deep breathes to try and calm herself down. Sora told her that they'd figure something out. That they could go visit her parents and bring them back here. Why hadn't Kairi herself thought of that? "You're right Sora. I'm overreacting again," the red head told him. But would her parents be willing to do that? The brunette stood up and pulled the princess to the doorway. He started out the room but stopped and looked around it. Kairi hadn't noticed before but now she suddenly felt that they were being spied upon. Nothing was there though so Sora turned and left, leading Kairi downstairs.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... The brunette led his friend down the steps into the living room. They had been relatively quiet coming down, so Kairi's foster parents hadn't heard them. It was obvious they'd been listening, Sora noticed, as they quickly went to doing something when they spotted the pair. He smiled sympathetically; it must be hard for them to hear how much trouble this was causing the girl they cared so much about. He cleared his throat, playing along with their little "we weren't listening" game. "Uh... we need to talk to you," he stated plainly.
He pulled Kairi with him to the sofa, at which he sat down next to her. He waited for a moment to see if Kairi would explain, but he quickly realized she was in no condition to reaccount what she'd read. So he decided to do it. "Well, that letter said that her real parents want her to live with them," he started, then paused. "In Radiant Garden, a different world." That was the hardest part to admit. But it was the most important part. He knew it would be hard for her foster parents to hear this, but maybe they could say some caring things to their "daughter" and encourage her to make the right decision. The boy himself had yet to figure out what that was, and knew it must've been exponentially (he didn't even know he knew what that word meant!) harder for the crimsonette to decide. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Sora led Kairi down stairs and into the living room. Kairi's foster parents were in there, but Kairi was so lost in thought that she didn't notice that they were there until Sora cleared his throat stating that they needed to talk. Sora walked over to the sofa, still leading Kairi along. They sat down next to each other and Sora waited for a moment to see if the red head would explain what had been written in the letter. But Kairi couldn't bring herself to do it. She couldn't even look her foster parents in the eyes at the moment, afraid to see the look on their faces. She stared blankly at the floor. The crimsonette was glad that Sora began to explain things, but at the same time she felt terrible about having to make the brunette do all the talking. He must be feeling just as confused and sad as she was. When Sora said they needed to talk, Kairi's foster parents had nodded in response and had sat down across from the princess and keyblade master. When Sora mentioned Radiant Garden, a different world, Kairi's "mother" gave him a questioning look. "A different... World?" she asked in a calm, questioning voice. Kairi's "father" spoke up as well, "We always knew Kairi wasn't from around here, but could she really be from another world? Kairi could only imagine the looks on her "parents" faces as they asked their questions for she continued to look at the ground.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora was a bit surprised that Kairi's foster parents didn't know about her being from Radian Garden. Then again, when had the red-head had time to explain it to them? Right after she'd gotten back to the islands, she'd lost basically all of her memory of Sora and most things related to him. Then, she'd been kidnapped, and now they were in school. Really, there'd been no time.
The brunette took a deep breath and tried to figure out how he would explain this. The truth was always the best method, he decided, and so that was what he would use. "Yeah, she's from a different world," he repeated. "The first time we went away, she was taken to it. It was different then though, because the darkness had consumed it. But she told me when we got back that it was her home world. It's all fixed up now, thanks to a couple friends of ours." That thought was reassuring. Leon, Yuffie, Tifa, Cloud, Aerith, and Cid were there, along with some other friends of his. They could look out for Kairi if she decided to live there. It would also give him an excuse to see her more often. But he was getting ahead of himself. He didn't want her to live there, even if some of his best friends would be her neighbors. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Kairi's foster parents looked at Sora after he told them the truth, their faces unreadable. But a moment later they smiled at him. "As far fetched as that sounds," Kairi's "dad" began, "We believe you Sora. We know that there are many things that are unknown to us and that there are many things we yet understand." "And we know that Kairi loves and trusts you deeply Sora. Kairi is such a good, caring girl so we know that means a lot. You have our trust as well." the crimsonette's "mom" added. Kairi's eyes widened and her face turned bright red. She couldn't believe that her mom had just said that out loud. Yes it was true that she loved Sora, but she had never had actually said it to him out loud. Having her mother say it was the ultimate embarrassment for the princess. Now Kairi was not only avoiding her "parents" gaze, but she was now avoiding Sora's as well.

Naminé Miss Memory Witch The petite blonde frowned as she listened to Kairi's reply and she didn't respond. A letter from Kairi's real parents? Naminé lightly bit her lower lip and turned her crystal blue eyes onto the table in front of her. The Nobody steeled herself, preparing for the onslaught of emotions that was sure to come soon.
Kairi's emotions did tear through her and the force was much stronger than she'd anticipated. Naminé put all her willpower and concentration onto blocking the crimsonette out, but not after she'd learned what Kairi's parents had wrote for the Princess was thinking about. Thankfully Kairi's emotions were blocked but only because Naminé's own emotions replaced it. Or rather, lack of emotions. She was stunned; numb. Her eyes were wide and she had to fight back tears of her own. Kairi wouldn't leave... would she? How could she? After all, she had all of her friends here. But maybe her Somebody wanted a chance at a normal life, wanted to be with her real foster parents. And if it would make her happy, she should do so. But still... Kairi's pain was overpowering and it mixed with Naminé's own pain. The petite blonde quickly rose from her seat, threw her bag over her shoulder and left.
She wandered down the hallways, passing other students going to there next class. Naminé bumped into a few students, one of them being Hikari. Still she didn't stop and she didn't really realize who she'd run into. Her mind was somewhere else. The blonde even brushed past Riku without realizing it was him, her face was blank but unshed tears shone in her eyes and her thoughts were a confused mess. The girl kept walking and went straight out the school's double doors, not pausing even when a teacher called out for her to come back. She simply erased his memory without having really thought about what she was doing. Naminé continued to walk away from the school and headed down towards the town, planning on either going to her house or to the beach to just think and to wait for Kairi's emotions to play out. In the back of her mind she wondered about later, with the meeting with that girl but then she realized she didn't care. Riku could go without her. It was more important to him anyway.
