Hiya, I'm Tabby. I'm seventeen years old, and I'm just recently starting to admit myself that I'm a lesbian, not bi. But I really, really hate that word- it sounds like some sort of medical condition, so I usually just say, "I'm a girl who likes girls."
I'm an ex-homophobe, but not a mean one... I was just really afraid of gay people. I sometimes wonder if liking girls is my karmic retribution. Either way, between that and the fact that I don't fit any stereotypes, a lot of people have a hard time believing I'm a girl who likes girls. I tend to look, act, and dress like a character in a magical girl anime.
My hobbies are singing (I'm the alto section leader in my choir), reading and writing, Future Educators of America (I'm the school chapter's secretary), volunteering at the library, beading jewelry, and shopping. Oh, and roleplay... of many sorts... teehee.
I have a large family of my parents, my stepparents, five brothers, and a sister. We don't all live in the same house, but I love them all. I'm the second oldest out of all the kids, and the only gay one, though we all sort of speculate about one of my brothers. Even if I know better than anyone that you can't trust the stereotypes. <3
I'm out of the closet, but I don't make it obvious- if you ask me if I've seen any cute guys, I'll let you assume. If you ask me if I like girls, I'll say "yes." I don't like discrimination, so I don't bring it on myself... the only reason I'm out at all is my ex-girlfriend pushed me out while we were dating (back when I thought I was bi... now I'm doing the re-coming out on my own).
