Chris went from growling to simply pouting. At least he wasn't as angry. But it was unlikely he'd forget this anytime soon. He huffed at the sight of the red bow, quickly batting it out of Chef's paw. That thing needed to be BURNED.
Thankfully for everyone in the room, Chef knew just how to calm Chris down. The rocks and pats were slowly putting him into a better mood. Nothing TOO great, but at least he was less likely to try and take someone's paw off now.
And thankfully for Scott, Chris was too busy feeling bad for himself to notice his dash to the tree.

"Of course! How hard could it be?" Nevermind that they were already pushing the budget and had to stoop to selling most of the critters on the island for more funds... Hey, what if he could, you know, "borrow" those critters again for a bit? They'd have the funds, AND people would't yell at them for their money back! It was ingenious!
He let the bow flutter to the floor, and made a note to make sure he didn't get his boss anything with a red bow on it. He continued to rock him, then tilted his head as an idea struck him. "Wanna watch Tom get mauled by a bear again?"
Something flickered out of the corner of his eye. He glared at the little intern, but his hands were literally quite full right now with a grumpy host. He couldn't exactly put him down now to deal with the intern -- Chris would become more cranky after that.

Ren: She gave me a weird one. "Persimmon" is what she called it. Oh! She still has two apples....so maybe I will get one of those.
