Richard's bullets tore through Gray's head just as one of Gray's bullets ricocheted off a steel girder and hit St. Cyrill in the thigh. "WHAT THE HELL DID I DO?!" St. Cyrill cried out as he went down on one knee. Then he realized what had just happened. "You shot him!" he cried. Gray was dead by the time he hit the ground.
The agent looked at her. She had very arresting eyes. He blinked to break his focus on her eyes. "You seem to be laboring under the idea that you have a choice," he murmured. "You don't. You either take a partner, or leave here empty-handed."

((Ah, that was unexpected. I pray he's immortal or she can bring people back to life.))
"He was shooting at me!" Richard shouted. "He's an opfor! Right?" Shooting people were generally opposition. Right? Dang, had there been some sort of mistake? "Was that our man? You could've described him!" Richard groaned. "I had no earthly idea!"

((Nahh, I was looking to kill off one of my starters, if not all. Although I kinda like Tiki and Connor. And St. Cyrill. Sooooo...scratch that.))
St. Cyrill threw up his hands. "Knowing our damn luck, that was our guy!" He hauled himself to his feet and limped over, checking the body. He sighed. "God damn it, that's him. ********!" In anger, he punched one of the wooden crates next to them. The crate lifted about a foot in the air as it flew in a neat arc, touching down twenty feet away and sliding for another ten. The crate easily weighed a half ton.

She noticed immediately that he lingered on her face, or, more specifically, on her eyes. Slightly disappointed in him, she turned her head away. Her face, however, remained blank as he spoke. "Very well." She paused for a moment to consider her words, "I had no intention of refusing anyway." She told him. As skeptical as she was was about a partner with her, she wanted the files. Idly, her mind wandered, what such a person would be like? Cold and precise, just as she herself was?

((Oh, he won't. Not only do I like his power, but as a character he's awesome. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!))
The man nodded. He slid her the file as he leaned back in his chair. "Very good then. Your new partner should be returning soon."

((Wait, was Gray her new partner? WHOOPS
THE SUN NEVER SETS ON THE ENGLISH EMPIRE.
Because God doesn't trust the English in the dark.))
Richard cringed. "Okay, you seriously need to figure out how to control your temper," he commented quietly. His anger at himself was temporarily replaced by a touch of fear, and that was enough to set his head back on a level course. "Either way... is there anyone else around here? Dangit. Killed our man because he shot at us... genius. Anyone else here?" Richard shouted - no point in being quiet anymore, he'd just emptied a good third of a magazine into a man's head. Not the sort of thing that happens quietly.

((Noooo, Gray's young ward is her new partner.))
St. Cyrill stared in disbelief at the crate. "Am I the only one that saw that? I mean, it flew, right?" he murmured. He winced as his leg throbbed. "Damn it, why do I keep getting shot?"

Tiki pulled Xander through the door after Kurtis as Connor followed quickly. "Come with me!" he said as he took off into the facility. He planned to lead them away from the agents. The agents were hesitant to go into the facility after them, both to avoid being shot and because they knew they would get lost. After a few seconds, they followed.

"Tiki, with me! Xander, with Connor. We'll split up. I need to grab a... project... from my office."
((Joe, you know you want to.))

Tiki nodded and went with Kurtis. Connor grabbed Xander and they split down a hallway, stumping the agents for a few extra seconds.
((It's still experimental. I'll give it three shots.))

((Sounds good.))
Kurtis sprinted down the hallway, while Tiki jogged easily alongside him. "Go down that hallway and take every left you come across, you'll be back here in five minutes," Kurtis directed Tiki, ducking into his office.
He began to grab a few parts scattered around, assembling one of his experiments he'd been doing in his spare time.
"Muzzle... accelerator and the barrel... screw those together, lock those switches in... trigger's working... and the battery." He plugged a battery shaped like a pistol clip into the handle of a smooth, black, boxy, rifle-like apparatus with green lines along the side. "Power levels are at max... all right." He stepped out into the hallway, hefting the light metal object and watching down the hallway for Tiki's return.

Tiki shrugged and did as he was told. After the second left, he encountered an agent. Not slowing, Tiki ran straight at her and lept into the air, throwing an elegant kick right into the side of her head. She crumpled without a sound. He made his way back to the hall, looked up, and saw Kurtis with a...gun? He followed his first instinct and dove back into the hall he had just come from.

"Come on, what're you waiting for?" Kurtis called out. He turned around and saw two agents coming back the way Tiki had first run. He fired from the hip at them. There was a sound like a a tuning fork being struck.
The whole hallway turned green as the stripes flared. Both agents were thrown backwards, crumpling against the wall.
"Mmmm, full kinetic transfer and the accelerator exceeded expectations," he muttered. "But it has higher power requirements than I had expected.
