Annora was good at hiding tears and hiding emotions. She did it easy. Even with her brother she hid the pain. She smiled at him. "I'm happy for you." She said softly, her throat tight. "Um. Dad called. He wants you to be his best man while I'm mom's maid of honor. You're supposed to call him." She said softly, messing with the ring on her finger. She didn't want to tell him so she took the ring off while his eyes were closed and put it in her pocket without him noticing. "I'm really happy for you." She smiled, but it hurt her to feel like she was being replaced with Derrik.

Nathan's happiness drowned in the thought of going back there. His smile fell to a frown and he just stared at Annora. "Are you serious? Do they even know that I left? With mom's credit card? I just...I can't ******** believe them! I went through hell to get here and they didn't even think about calling to see if I was fine until they wanted to tell me they wanted me to be the bestman?" Nathan fell back on his bed. "I hate our parents. I hate them more than I hate the guys that bashed me." Nathan said. He sighed and closed his eyes. His hands were clenched into fist.

Annora smacked her hand on his stomach. "They didn't even know you left! They thought that you were with your uncle!" She glared at him. "Mom wouldn't care if you spent all her money! She has enough of it! Do you even care about their feelings? My dad wants you to stand up with him! If I have to put on a fake smile for loosing my brother and a fake smile of happiness for our parents then you should too!" Annora was crying and stood up walking out of his room, but she didn't go very far. She wanted him to follow her... Walking away from his door she turned down the hall. Not ending up she sat in a corner.

Nathan stood and ran out of his room after his sister. She sat in a corner at the end of the all. Nathan ran to her and crouched down in front of her. "Hey, hey. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I was just mad, okay? A lot has happened me since I left. I just needed to take it out on someone. Don't be like that. Come on, lets not make a scene." Nathan picked up his sister and walked to the nearest room, which just so happened to be Johns old room. Nathan sat on the bed and slowly and carefully pulled his sister down next to him. "Now what is this about loosing me?" He asked as he hugged her and rocked her gently.

Annora looked away from Nathan. "Derrik is taking you from me. Its just... Derrik has become your everything now... And I'm not the most important thing in your life anymore..." She looked down hiding her face. "I know I'm being stupid... But thats how I feel Nate... You're my best friend and you are being taken away from me. I loved you before he ever did. I accepted you gay.... I was always the first person you talked to... Now I won't be..." She looked over at him. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out the ring and showed it to him. "John proposed to me..." She said softly.
