i finally wonderd into the libary, spotting gramps i walked over silently and examined his book then said, "Mobey D**k, is that the one with the great white whale, and the captian trying to kill it?"

elphy_and_fiyero (And yes I took your pumpkin pie 3nodding ) "I'm Riley." She told Zack. "Welcome to your new home." She turned back to Beth and then looked at her watch. "Yeah, he should be in the library right now reading Moby d**k."

Gramps sat in the library doing exactly that. For him, it was a daily routine since it was his favorite book.

Beth smiled. "Gramps is that predictable, huh? A bit of a routine can be nice, but sheesh! Oh well, what ever floats his boat." She shrugged and turned to Zack. "So, you wanna go meet the ol' man?"
(Poor elphy. I start at the end of the month, but I shouldn't have too much trouble keeping up *crosses fingers*
And poor pie sad It's so sad when they die so young. *lol*)

Riley shrugged. "If you want to. And you have no idea how predictable he is. When we walk in there, he'll be sitting in his chair in the corner next to the giant window with his tiny reading glasses on. Oh, and he'll be drinking a mug of hot chocolate because he quiet drinking coffee about 10 years ago."

"Sure," Zack replied Beth, ready to leave, but also wanting to investigate the rest of the area. His viney arms, strung out along the wall, feeling every crevice, every stone. He began to withdraw his arms so that he could leave, and he thought he passed a crevice that went further than the others, but he made sure not to show his observation on his face.

Beth laughed at Riley's description of the scene. "Wow. Same book all the time? I can understand loving a book and wanting to re-read it several times, but you would think a break in between readings would be nice. Oh well." With one last chuckle, she got her bearings, remembering where the library was, and pointed with one clawed finger. "This way then."

Gramps put down his book and looked at everyone. "Hello there." He smiled at them. The hot cocoa was half full which meant he had been there for awhile.
"Good book there gramps?" Riley chuckled. Gramps laughed and nodded.
"Great book. So what can I do for you kids today?" He asked them.

(Is everyone dead or something? cry I miss everyone.)
Beth followed her memory down the halls to the large doors of the library. Opening them and walking in, she got the same giddy rush as earlier that afternoon when she had seen it for the first time. Bit she quickly reminded herself that she had a greater purpose here than admiring the book collection.
Over on one side, she saw Gramps sitting just like Riley had said he would be. To her surprise, she saw Yata there too. Walking up to the two of them, she crossed her arms over her chest and cocked one hip. "Well, fancy running into you here, Yata. But what ever. Sorry to interrupt your evening ritual, Gramps, but Yata ran into another like us out in the woods. We were hoping that you'd be willing to help him like you're helping us."

Zack looked at Gramps from behind Beth, "Hey, I'm Zack," he introduced himself. He was curious as to how Gramps would reply to seeing a plant talking.

Gramps got up at the sight of Zack with a curious expression. "My dear boy," He sighed. "You are welcome here as long as you like. We should have everything that you need but if you find that you do need something just don't hesitate to ask. Oh, and you can call me Gramps. There are plenty of rooms upstairs. Just pick one that's empty." He smiled. Riley was so excited she couldn't help herself.
"I love you Gramps." She giggled and Gramps hugged her back.
"I love you too my dear. Now is there anything else I can do for you bunch?"

i thought about it then said, "Yes can you get me a few trees for my room, along with some hot coco? seeing you with it is kinda giving me a craveing for it."

Beth smiled, her tail swishing back and forth happily. "See, what did we tell you?"
She giggled when Riley and Gramps hugged. She wasn't used to seeing this soft side of the panther girl. Back at the labs, Riley had been mostly tooth, nail and bad temper. Here, she was so sweet and almost child like, it was cute.
Beth again chuckled at Yata. What a goof he could be, but she kinda liked that. "Yeah, some coco does sound good, but would you like someone to show you around, Zack? Or would you rather explore on your own?"
