Lin giggled at Arwen a bit before turning her attention back to Beren. She had to admit she was a bit curious, which wasn't unsual.
Tilting her head a bit, she asked, "Explains what?"

As Arwen ran to the kitchen for a towel for her father, Beren smiled at Lin.
"It explains why I've grown so much and you haven't," he replied with a chuckle. "If the time passed in your world at the same rate as it does here, then I would be at a loss to explain how I have grown to adulthood while you are still a child, but with the time difference, all of it can be explained quite easily."
He smiled at her.

Kara smiled a bit, thinking how Lin was going to have to explain growths one day. Ah well, that could wait until after she grows again, then she would have to joy of explaining that to Beren.
If he's still here... which left the question of now what?
"Well," Kara finally spoke up, "Since it'll be a few days until Serenity's arrival, you might as well stay here until things can get sorted out. You can tour the Ranch and get to know the place better, talk to Ulani maybe since Ulrich won't be back for a while. Though really, as Haradhel said, final decision is Ulrich's, it's just between him and Serenity, you'll be waiting."

Beren smiled warmly. "I would very much like a tour of the ranch," he agreed with a grateful smile. "If it is to become my home, the place where I work, then it would be good to know what it's all about, and the people that I am going to be working with."
"Perhaps after lunch," Haradhel suggested. "I'm sure that Arwen would be more than happy to show you around."
"And Lin can come with us!" Arwen said happily, sitting down next to Elrohir and grinning widely. "What do you think, Lin?"

"That would be fun," Lin grinned at the thought, "And then we can introduce you to the people who work here. Since.. I think you haven't met everyone and we even have some people who weren't here before on the Ranch."
It was also a perfect excuse to quickly visit everyone.

Beren nodded. "That sounds wonderful to me," he agreed happily.
Once lunch was over, Arwen quickly helped to clear the table before just about pouncing on Beren's arm and latching onto him.
"Come on," she giggled. "There's lots to see and a lot of people to meet, so we should get started as quickly as we can! Lin, coming?"

Lin hopped off her chair hurrying over to the two, she didn't want to be left behind.
"Coming!" she didn't take Beren's hand, but she stood on his other side.

Kara smiled from where she sat, Miyu had been horribily shy coming back, but she was sure that the little girl would get over it in a few days.

Arwen giggled softly at Kara. "Lin always behaves," she assured her, "you don't have to worry about her. We'll be back in good time, too."
She tugged on Beren's arm, dragging him towards the doorway. "We have to see everything," she grinned at him, "and see as many people as we can."
Which would mean going out of their way a bit, but that didn't matter. They had the entire afternoon after all.

Lin hurried on ahead and opened the door for the two. She was quite eager to get started adn begin introductions.
"Where are we going to start?" Lin asked, "Actually better yet, Beren, what exactly is it you want to do here?"
Since that might answer the question.

Beren smiled down at Lin as they headed outside.
"I was hoping to go with the men to rescue the children," he admitted, "but if there is something else that needs to be done I'm more than happy to do that too."
Arwen looked thoughtful. "Why don't we start at the barracks?" she suggested, looking to Lin for approval.

Lin nodded eagerly at that idea, it was her favourite place and it looked like Beren would be living in her favourite place on the Ranch. Well, once he got hired of course, and somehow she had this funny feeling he was going to be around to stay.
"Let's, maybe there will be someone off duty that we know," she replied.

Arwen nodded. "I think Elros is heading out for duty now, but Aragost should be coming back if he's not back already."
She directed them towards the barracks.
"And I think Sir Leith and Sir Boudwin should be switching out now, too," she commented, "so we may run into one of them."

Lin thought about it, it made sense she Elros didn't have shift during the morning. Too bad, she thought it would be fun to introduce Beren to Elros, but there was also Aragost and she hadn't said hello to Sir Leith and Sir Boudwin yet neither.
"Great," Lin looked up at Beren, "You'll like Sir Leith and Sir Boudwin, they're really nice. Well.... everyone is nice, but they're good to talk to... err... when I can understand them."

"Understand them?" Beren repeated curiously, one eyebrow raised. "Is there trouble with them?"
Arwen giggled. "They don't speak the common tongue the way we do," she explained, "so it's hard to understand them unless they're talking in High Elven. But since everyone here speaks the Common Tongue most of the time, they try to, too."
"Oh." Beren chuckled softly. "It must make things interesting here."
