Skye's brow quirked slightly to one side, and he shook his head lightly, "Still doesn't right a bell. Sorry." He smirked lightly, "But that does sound like an interesting story." Then, just barely a few moments later, a light clicked on inside of Skye's head, "Oh yeah... I remember now." Skye looked up and down Yuki for a moment, "You heal well."

Hanse stepped through the doorway to notice the shopkeeper's gesture, and his grin disappeared. It was quickly replaced with a look of irritation as the shopkeeper and the girls went into a back room. He snorted lightly, and looked around slowly, picking up a trinket or two. He would examine it for a moment, chuckle lightly at it's obvious lack of useful magic, and then set it back down in place, slightly off-skew.

"I must have your left, Miss Hitsuzen." He stated, and once he had the correct hand he answered her question. "There are many things to be seen." He explained, grasping her hand gently with both of his. "How you have lived... How you will live..." As he spoke, he gently studied the shape of her fingers, along with testing to see if he could bend them backward. Never was he forceful, as the goal was not to cause discomfort. "You are a dreamer, are you? I would truthfully have sooner guessed you the sensitive type, Miss Hitsuzen." It could have been an error, but he wouldn't admit it. He chuckled softly to himself, making a second statement after gently massaging the hand. "Economical as well. This is a advantageous trait, assuming you are not excessive."
Now, to the actual palm. For several moments he studied it silently, trailing rounded claw tips gently along the visible lines. Once or twice his serious expression turned more intense, as though he'd just gotten to a climactic chapter of a story. One ear swiveled to the side, bringing the cupped auditory to focus on the sonance of his most recent visitor. He faintly caught the dragon's laughter, and his brow furrowed. Though, to the girls, it likely just looked as though he were concentrating. Finally, he gently released Hitsuzen's hand, and cupped his own in front of him on the table.
There were so many details, so many things to be determined by the girl's palm. He could likely sit for an hour or longer explaining them to her. However, he had another customer to attend to, and this was a free reading after all. How could he word it all shortly? All would not be told, and he decided on speaking only of the three major lines of her palm. Only one or two noted details on each, as not to be too extensive. He frowned gently to himself, gaze resting on the surface of the table a second longer before he lifted his muzzle and addressed her.
"The road ahead of you is littered with hardships, Miss Hitsuzen." He began, looking from her to each of her friends in turn before back to the one he was speaking to. "Your lines reveal many things to me, and as not to overwhelm you I will share a select few..." He unclasped his hands, and held up one of his own padded palms. Pressing a claw to the topmost section of the large black pad, he began his explanation. "Your heart line is here. Your line is very strong, this means that you are faithful and true in your love." That was good news, though there wasn't anything similar to follow. "Another of your lines is very close to your heart line. Do you know what this means?" He paused a moment, waiting for a response before he continued. "If another line close to the heart line, there is a strong likelihood that someone you are close to is going to die."
There was little room for protest or question, as he moved to explaining the next. "Here." He lowered his finger below where he had pointed out her heart line. "Is your head line. This line is joined with your heart line at the start, which suggests a difficult life with more than its share of suffering. It is also broken, further down the line." He trailed down his paw pad, "This signifies deep depression. I would predict that this would be due to the death aforementioned by your heart line."
"Your life line..." He made a slow gesture, sweeping his forefinger around one edge of his paw pad. "Is the line closest around your thumb. When the line is not consistent, in terms of depth and thickness, it is said that this may mean you will have many changes in your life. Along with twists and turns in your fortune, though I regret to inform that even I cannot tell you which if any will be promising..." How negative was this going to get? Well, he was not to blame, he was merely reading what he saw. "It also tells me that you are weak." That could sound offensive, so he tried to clarify. "This could be a physical or mental weakness. Not necessarily a visible or obvious flaw, perhaps something only you are aware of."

What a response. Yuki rolled his eyes, "No thanks to you and your over-sized pet, of course. Which returns me to my original question; Where is he?" The last was spoken slightly slower, as though Yuki was convinced that if he talked too fast Skye wouldn't understand him.
-----
When the foxen had begun his reading, Hitsu was actually a bit anxious to hear what kinds of things he could determine from nothing more than looking at her hand. Initially, she smiled and nodded to his statements and observations, finding it mildly amusing that he was correct. She watched him in silence as he studied her palm, curious as to why he looked so bothered at times. The mention of hardships had seemed to go in one ear and out the other; Everyone had hardships, right? He questioned on her knowledge of one line close to the one he was reading, and she gave a shake of her head. "No."
The news of this meaning seemed to bother her, judging by her frown. Die? Someone she was close to was going to die? She didn't like the sound of that. How soon? And who? She continued to listen to his readings, though her questions lingered heavily. She stared at her own palm, seemingly in a daze as he spoke. It was only when he had paused that she spoke up. Her voice was soft, and it was obvious that she was concerned. "But... Who is going to die? How soon is this supposed to happen?" She looked up to him, with a sad and pleading expression. "Can't it be stopped?"

Hanse lifted a small figurine up to his face, and glared at it. He muttered slightly under his breath, "A ward." He tilted his head slightly to one side, and snapped the head off of the figurine. "Heh, useless against those with mal-intent." His words were spoken softly, but still harsh in tone. The head of the figurine landed on his foot, creating a muffled fall. He placed the now desecrated object back on the shelf he plucked it from and began to turn around.
Suffice to say, his large frame and tail were overwhelming to the room. His tail 'accidently' caught on the leg of a cabinet, and his body was unhindered as he turned. With his body fully moved, the cabinet was tipped over slightly, and Hanse's brow quirked with amusement as he watched the entire thing fall over; crashing to the ground with a deafening sound of shattering glass, clay, and other materials, as well as some splintering wood.
He knew that such a noise could not have gone unnoticed, and he looked up slowly from the wrecked cabinet to the doorway where the shopkeeper and the girls went through.

Mitsu listened intently to what the fox was telling them, her tail swaying behind her curiously as she too studied Hitsu’s hand in hopes of understanding what he saw. When he went into his long explanation though it was obvious the wolf girl was lost as she stared at Kit’s foxy face questioningly. When he stated that someone close to Hitsu would die to expression too became worried. These people were the only thing she had as far as friends went she would go so far as to say they were growing on her like a family even in the short amount of time they had been together. It would be devastating to say the least if one of her family were to suddenly disappear though the memory of what happened to her original family was basically none existent.
A question of Mitsu’s danced at the edge of her tongue before a loud noise rang out from the shop. The loud noise startled her enough that she almost ducked under the table for safety but instead remained in her seat hunched down low trying to make herself small. “W…w..what was that?” Mitsu questioned softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

A little life stirred in the darkness. "You are awake." The booming voice said.
"Yes. How long have I been here?" said the little life.
"Forever."
"Oh." The little voice said in a contemplative tone. "What are we?"
"You are sentience. I am Time, and by proxy, death."
"How long do we get to stay here?" The little voice asked, shifting in the warmth of its surroundings.
"Until the end of time." When the little one suddenly died, so too did Time.
Hidden among a tangle of bushes rested a curious item. At first glance, it may have seemed like a man-sized cocoon. Upon further inspection, one would realize that the strange egg was made of interlaced bones. Suddenly, like a time-lapsed flower, it began to bloom and unveil its dangerous contents.
Kaine had slept deeply and if not for the recollection of a bit of an old story, it would have been dreamless. He only slept completely sound, as only a psychotic person can. Standing nude among the bone carapace that shielded him from harm, Kaine sifted through his belongings to sort them into the order he would put them on. He had been following the tracks all this way, trying to learn the personalities each person formed by their footfalls. One in particular walked like he was furious at the ground. These little imprints still clung to a tiny amount of heat. Fresh. He hadn't really been taught how to track anything, but having followed the trail for as long as he had, he learned how to discern the individual paths each had taken.
The plan he had concocted was genius if it worked, or failed. Either way it would make the task assigned him much easier. He slipped on a bone greave while he idly wondered about Yuval. Then, he blushed.
Once he was fully dressed, he gave a long stretch. He would have to wait until after they had left the town before putting his plan into effect. Otherwise, an interloping peasant might interfere. As if the mention of peasants triggered a Pavlovian response, his stomach growled. His ravenous appetite had already become a burden on this trip. Just then there was a noise coming from the road behind him. Abandoning his shell, he started walking down the road towards the town, judging his pace to allow the poor sap to overtake him. As he wrapped his wings about himself he smiled.
"Ah, what fortune. I was just thinking about having breakfast." Kaine said to himself while slipping his vein-seekers out of their holsters.

"She's here..." A man mumbled to himself quietly as he walked into the streets of the town with an emotionless expression that had become his trademark.
He looked.. Out of place. The formal attire gave away the fact that he was most definitely not from around these parts. A tophat upon his head, a suit covering his body, and an odd air about him.
And that wasn't even counting the fact that there were tiny wings folded up on his back. Sure. He could hide them.. But why bother? What did he care about other people's opinions. The answer to that question was more complicated to answer than most would think. But honestly, that didn't matter now.
The fact was, he'd been having nightmares for the past few weeks. And he knew why. She was alive. She was alive and "well". Which obviously meant the curse was too. Wether he would attempt to put an end to that or not was still a question. He was never one to act on his first impulse. And while he blamed her for his disfigurement, he couldn't just kill her.
He glanced from one building to another, eyes seeming to prod at the question of what each might hold inside. A raven flew directly over his head, and would caw every once in awhile.
he was new in town, but it was like he knew exactly where he was going. A peculiar site indeed. He stopped directly in front of the inn and stared long and hard. He did not blink. Just... Watched.

At first, poke wasn't even paying attention to what the fox-man was doing, obviously taking him to be a fake. What was it, something about a dreamer? you could say that about anybody and make it sound like it was true.
she was half expecting him to then stand up and ask for the money right then and there, but he continued to read hitsu's palm. She paid a little more attention then, curious as to what he was going to say next.
The explination itself, left her with a divided opinion. On one side he mentioned things such as "many hardships" and " faithful and true in love" whuch dfinately sounded like bull. The part about someone dying didn't help either. Although...his explaination was quite detailed. He sounded as if he knew what he was doing.
She didn't have any more time to ponder this. A sudden crash made poke turn around in her seat, staring at the door. That didn't sound like a person droping a glass by accident...
Poke stayed in her seat, but she was much more tense now.

The gypsy's ears fell slightly, as he looked upon the girls expression. Perhaps he shouldn't have been so honest, it might have been in his better interests to sugar coat her fate with reassurance and lies. Though, there was one thing. "Don't fret your fate, my dear. There is always a chance that the future can be rearranged. Why, I've read the palms of many, and no two turn out the same." He tilted his head lightly, he would have given a reassuring wink had it not been a fruitless gesture. "Mind, I have read some a second and even third time." He reached out to take Hitsu's hand again gently, "The lines will change as you move on through your life, sometimes for the better."
Then, apparent chaos from the front. The fox gave a stifled yelp, as he was caught off guard. Ears pressed to his skull; That had been much louder on his poor hearing than that of the others. He cast a slow glance toward the beaded doorway, then looked back to the young women as he slowly stood. "Please, excuse me for a moment." He lifted a hand to suggest they stay put, for their own safety if nothing else. His apologetic grin toward them was genuine, but the fact that he still smiled when he returned to the front could easily have been taken as a fraud.
He first looked at the floor, where a great majority of his merchandise lie in ruin. All of the clay figurines he had spent hours sculpting, the wares of wood and glass, down to even the jewelry that had been on one particular shelf. Shattered, smashed, broken. Ears perked forward as he surveyed the damage calmly, before finally crossing his arms over his chest and looking up to the dragon expectantly. "So. Do you plan on paying for this mess?" He asked, though his tone was not forceful.

Hitsu still frowned, but nodded slowly to Kitwana's reply. She didn't say anything in agreement or disagreement, but it looked as though she didn't feel much different. He had told her someone she was close to was going to die, and she believed him. What was worse... When she tried to think of who it could be, only two people came to mind.
Then, the crash. She gave a startled jolt and nearly fell out of her chair, eyes wide she looked to the shop owner who had begun to stand. She watched him go, but no sooner had he vanished from sight she had risen. There had been no screams, so it should have been safe. She went slowly to the doorway, and slowly moved aside some of the curtain to see what was going on, tail twitching curiously behind.
It was a brief inspection, before she turned to look at the other two girls. Her expression still appeared shocked, but a bit of a grin tugged at the sides of her lips. Temporarily, the possibility of a dark future was forgotten. "There's a really big man out there, he knocked over one of the shelves..." She explained, in a loud whisper. "He's going to be in trouble for breaking all of that stuff, I'll bet."

Mitsu stayed hunched in place still afraid to move. She wanted to look out the door to see what Hitsu was seeing but at the same time it seemed a bit scary. “H…he knocked over one of the shelves?” Mitsu asked as she straightened a little and craned her neck to the side attempting to see passed the curtain from her seat. The shelves had been rather large so it must have been some feat for him to knock them over on his own.
Sitting back in her chair she listened carefully to the conversation beyond the curtain her long pointed ears twitching as she caught every word. Finally her curiosity got the better of her and she braved up enough to stand from her seat and step up along side Hitsu to peer out into the shop. The man in question was indeed tall and rather frightening looking to boot. Messy locks of onyx hair fell about his face and his large coat made his presence even more menacing. “W…what’s going to happen?” Mitsu whispered softly trying to keep hidden as much as possible behind the curtain.

Skye shrugged slightly, and answered somewhat confusedly. "I'm not exactly sure where he, or I am." He pushed aside some of his hair to show a nice shiner on the side of his temple. "The last thing I remember his Hanse saying rather complacently 'Oops' and the ground getting dreadfully close a bit too quickly." He motioned barely upstairs, "Next thing I knew, I was in a bed here. Bartender said a overly nice old lady on a sheep dropped me off and said I only needed some sleep." He tilted his head slightly, and gestured around him, "And now I'm here." He shrugged again, and postulated, "So your guess is as good as mine where he is." ______________
Hanse looked at all the broken junk around him, and then slowly looked up to the shopkeeper as he mentioned paying for the damages. "Paying for these?" His hands gestured to the useless items at his feet. "These things were poorly made, and were barely enchanted." He bent over a little, and picked up the first figure he had broken and held it up in front of him, "Didn't do too much good, did it."

Time seemed to be passing dreadfully slow as Neko stared out the only window they had in their room. The evening was approaching and he had yet to eat anything for the day and he was sure Riyo was hungry as well. Despite all that had gone on in the last few hours the only thing that seemed to rate number one on Neko’s priority list was food. Drumming his fingers on the table a few more times out of hunger driven frustration he finally stood to his feet. “I’m going to go downstairs for some food.” Neko announced. He wasn’t sure what they had downstairs or if it was any good but it would sure as hell be better than nothing.
Turning to Riyo he looked at her a bit worriedly for a moment. He was certain she still shouldn’t be moving around yet but at the same time he didn’t want to leave her alone. There was no telling what that strange man he had seen earlier was capable of. “Do you think you feel up to going downstairs with me?” He stepped over to the bed to offer her a hand if she so desired to use his aid to get up.

Riyo, who had dozed off while sitting up, shook her head at the sound of Neko's voice and woke herself up. She had been trying her best not to pay attention to her hunger. "Food, nyu?" She asked with excitement.
She watched worry develop in his eyes, wondering just what he was so concerned about. She could take care of herself! She'd been doing it for... For... Well, a long time! Though, at the offer to go with, Riyo didn't hesitate to take his hand. In a subconscious sense, she didn't want to be alone either. A lot of things were happening to her that she wasn't aware of... But could sense. There were things beyond her control. Fate was getting closer and closer to her door.
But... For now.. She enjoyed the simplicity that surrounded her.
"Fooood~" She said with a big smile, her tail swaying behind her as she stood up with Neko's help.
