Yeah, that would certainly help things out a bit. But you know, it's really too young to decide how you're gonna spend the rest of your life, soooo yeah.

-Mr. Still-trying-to-plan-his-life continues to fail at his attemping-
Oh well, if I aim for MIT, what's the worst that could happen?
From what I've heard of it, it seems like it would be fun AND useful
-blissfully unaware-
I think I need a 'real' job

=D You never know. The economy could be better by the time you go to college... right? Dream big or go home!

I think the main problem is that ever since grade school they've hammered in the idea that any job you can get without going to college is beneath us and we "should aim big!" At this point in time I can get a job just about anywhere with no problem, just that I want to get a job in something I enjoy.

Well, and the thing is... Really, EVERYONE goes to college these days... it's not as special... People are getting out of college and not finding jobs right now. Young graduates from the law school around here are graduating, passing the bar, and then being turned down no matter where they apply... XD I know a few who have been turning in their "alternate" applications where it omits they went to lawschool... And they still can't find jobs.
So that's when you go back to school again. XD

Yeah, that started appearing around middle school, which oddly enough they kept hammering into our heads that we NEEDED to get the BEST GRADES EVA! so we could go to only the best college. It was a bit.... disorganized and counter producutive. "College graduates aren't able to get jobs theses days... SO GO OUT AND GO TO COLLEGE so you can get jobs! blaugh "

Yeah. I mean... really. And yet they won't admit that maybe we should stop putting so much in higher education and let people do what they want. Instead of pushing people through school let them do it themselves and those who don't can find out what the real world is about.

It would be nice, but... really, would you want to go into the real world? D: After all, it's so much easier to pretend to learn and have mommy and daddy continue to let you stay rent-free and pay for all three of your meals... not to mention cars and insurance.

Oh yeah, mooching off the family. No, I'd rather , eventually, get a house of my own and all. I do eventually need to move out and get a job that's not farm related.

XD Indeed, I bet you're kinda ready for something else? Pish. So any ideas, then? I mean, you've gotta start somewhere with something.

When I finish up college, whenever that may be, I'm probably either going to go for a cheap house, or apparment somewhere, apply for a job at book store or something like that and then work on getting a better job.
But of course I need to nail down what kind of major I want and what I want to do with my life.

Just means you need to rest it a bit.
My brain just tends to just skip beats and all.
And yeah that's normal. How can people expect young people to plan ahead when we're buried under the strain of homework, projects, book reports, and having to worry about paying for it all.

XD Well, maybe I should hook my brain up to my computer via the ipod connector... Then it'll work...er..better. Unless of course there's a virus on my HD hiding... That would be interesting. o_o
Well, and the thing is that our personalities and habits and even likes and dislikes aren't entrenched firmly enough to chose something we want to do forever by the age of 19.... D: So how are we supposed to be accurate and efficient in choosing what to study when we probably won't be the same person in three years...
