"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

No, it was an actual comic book series. It's more in a manga style, but with a Canadian writer and artist based on his own life, and printed by a company known as Oni Press.

It's a graphic novel that pretty much blends video games, western and eastern comic book formats into an awesome seires.
And there's a few preview pages of some of the earlier comics on the scottpilgrim site, but not the whole comic.

XD I think I've heard of Oni Press.
I figured the comic was pretty similar to the movie, or else they'd probably never have though to do some of what they did...

I do wonder if maybe now there's gonna be a sudden surge of people trying to buy the comic tho... I know I've got a sudden desire to hunt it down...

Anywais. Its time for me to go to bed. Nighty night~

All except the ending more or less. The final volume was nothing but a few notes when they decided to make the movie and while elements are the same both are different. Still, both are awesome

Night and bye! Take care now ^.^

You should totally buy them!
As for me I'm gonna support my local book store. Since the one I use to buy from but stopped ended up going out of bussiness.... yes I slightly blame myself.

They are so on their way.
I...actually never enter comic shops... even tho there are quite a few... there's actually one at the new mall I told myself I'd eventually visit... but yeah. D: They're intimidating.

They're just like libaries, but better since you don't have to worry about late fees since you're buying the books anyways haha.

So how are you today?

>_< Well. I always feel out-geeked because I don't know squat about american comics. XD

=3 I'm lovely today. It was the first day of HighSchool for the kids across the street, and so they all came over in droves for me to make them cupcakes. I must admit, I wish I was still in school. They've got it sooooo easy.

I admit I know enough to talk about american comics, like the history and evolution of them and enough about current stories to make comments, but I don't go out and buy western comics that much, if at all.

And no you don't want to be back at school. Yeah they have it easy now compaired to what you have to do now, but remember that back then you wish you could be in the lower grades becaue "everything was much simpler/easyer".
Course this is coming from the guy in college....

XD I sooo don't even know that much. The whole art style is... not appealing to me. God only knows why. Or maybe it's the plot. I love the genera-twisting/tweaking/splicing korean comics these days.

Actually back then I wanted to get out of school soooo bad. I hate hard work and the angst school came with. I know, wai lame. And now I work my a** off every day so I can pay for my car, gas, food, insurance, phone, rent... and my funmoney that buys me comics and takes me on vacation.
And yes, this is coming from a guy in college.
Actually, I'm curious. Who's paying for your college? Is it a loan you're gonna die to pay back ten years from your grad date? Or do you work all summer to get tuition?

Despite my dad being on my a** about gettting scolarships, which I did apply for a few but only ended up with two $500 ones, I've more or less been paying "out of pocket".
Luckily for me my grand uncle left me with the cows. So we sell the calves around late May early June and I have around $6000 to $7000 + to go back to college and buy books with.
I also get a cut of the tobacco money which bolsters my checking account for spring semester.

That's how it's worked so far. We're trying to hold off busting open one of the CDs that had been willed to me when Uncle Pete died for when I finally get out of college and start off on my own.
It's amazing just how much money farmers have. It's just that most stay in debt because they're either required by law and contract to keep up with "the newest inovations" (which we don't have to worry about because we're independent and not owned by an company) or because they "need" the best everything and hire other people to use the equipment and fix them when it's broken.

Woah, I bet it does. Well, that's cool tho. It means you won't be paying it off later after the interest accrues or whatnot...

XD Dude, someone else was talking about that! It was crazy. I bet it makes things easier. =_=;

Yeah, but unless I nail down a major I'll probably have to bust one of the CDs to pay sooner or later. And it's probably going to be a given if I go to a different college.

I forgot I was typing this and lost my train of thought haha.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 7:19 pm

Pish... well at least you have a backup plan. XD Everyone I know is either getting their parents to pay or has taken out one of those loans. Neither one sounds very appealing.

I hate it when that happens.
Good thing no one actually expects consistency in posts. That's the best part of the internet: you can wig out or go off topic and it's totally normal.

I'm certain dad would help pay for classes to keep us from using a CD but only once so yeah.

I really need to nail down a major or something. Perferably in something that I can get a job I'll enjoy in.
