Lori smiled.
"Well we have time for pancakes if you want now," he said, and rolled off of Luca to let him up. He stood up from bed and stretched, finding that Rosie had wandered into the room, nub wagging. "Good morning to you too."
He shrugged then and reached out to pull a standing Luca toward him while he stood in only his underwear. "I don't care what we do today. We'll get ice cream and we'll figure it out." There were worse things for an immortal than finding a new profession.

"Let's do pancakes," Luca smiled. One thing he could actually make! He was pulled over to Lori and wrapped his arms around him. "Alright," he agreed. "We can take Rosie out with us. Get her a doggie cone."

"Sure," Lori nodded, "and we'll have to bring something back for Seamus, or he'll take some sort of horrible revenge. Right?"
Seamus meowed from the cat tree in the corner as they went for the kitchen. Damn straight he'd better get something too.
Rosie got breakfast before the people in the house, and while she ate (after Lori washed his hands), the fae began collecting the ingredients for the recipe. He wasn't confident winging the measurements at all, at least not yet.
"Pancakes and ice cream. My trainer would be so upset with you for your terrible influence." He kissed Luca's cheek exaggeratedly, holding him by the neck as he did so, and just as gently released him. "I love sugar, though."

Luca smiled at Seamus and reached to pet the cat sidhe. "We wouldn't forget you," He promised. "One ice cream for my favorite cat."
"Eh. Following diets is no fun! I had well...you don't want to know how much ice cream I consumed last night. Thank goodness for not being able to gain a pound, right?"

Seamus meowed angrily. He was not a cat! Stupid Kitty was a cat! He was--! Probably not going to get ice cream if he was smart with Lori's boyfriend. He meowed an apology and laid his head back down.
"I'm so sorry, love," Lori said, wrapping an arm around Luca as he scooped flour. "It's good everything worked out, though, right?" He rubbed Luca's shoulder and released him. Well. Everything had worked out and Luca had quit his job. "Do you want to measure the milk?"

"Hm?" Luca was surprised by the apology. "Dobt be sorry! It was good!" He gave Lori a smile. "Yeah. Don't do that again, though. I'll tell Toby the same when he's awake." He turned around and hugged Lori. "I was worried about you."
Milk? Oh, pancakes! "Alright," He said. "How much milk?"

"Eh, I'd rather pass out than lose a friend. And it worked too! Kept him going until we got Michael in. Who'd have thought tie clips were dangerous?"
He pretended to be angry then and threw the paper recipe at Luca. "Read the damn recipe!" It didn't go very far, fluttering to the floor by his feet. He snatched it up then and spoke through a chuckle. "To get it back, you'll have to pay the toll."

"I wouldn't mention tie clips around Maia, She looked murderous." Selkies were harmless! But she'd worn an expression that had him wanting to avoid angering her.
He tried to catch the paper before it hit the floor. "The toll? Two kisses?"

Lori clutched the paper to his chest as Luca got closer. Oh. Well.
"Yes. We've doubled the toll."

Could Maia be angry at Toby? Luca had never seen it. Of course, he'd never seen the blonde angry period.
He moved close, putting a hand to Lori's cheek and kissed him, not twice, but four times.

Lori returned the kisses, helping them linger, and was surprised but not startled out of the extra two. He smiled and chuckled deep in his chest when their lips broke. He couldn't do anything but offer out the recipe between their chests and grin like an idiot. Oh, he had ideas of what he'd like to do today.

Luca read through the recipe and began to measure out the milk. That done, he turned again to Lori and gave him yet another kiss.

Lori hugged Luca from behind and kissed the back of his neck. he was feeling especially playful, when really he had started off sort of disappointed in himself for 'making' Luca quit his job. He heard Rosie retreat out through her doggie door and squeezed Luca. Ah, he was happy like this. He could be happy like this forever.
"Do you think we're advanced enough to make Mickey Mouse...s...? Mickey Mice...?"

"Mickey mice?" Luca snickered. "Probably not. Mine don't even stay round." Still tasted good, though, that was what mattered. He smiled at Lori. "You can try though," he invited. "I bet yours would turn out alright."

Lori ended up laughing so hard at his phallic "Mickey Mice" that his face went red and he had to hold onto the counter. It was a good day... a very good day.
The next day, there was a gentle clip-clipping out in the hall. A human head peeked out around the door to Toby's room. Human, that is, except for the odd build of the nose. It was broad and flat from forehead to bulb. The ears, they too were nearly horizontal, large and pointed... so maybe not so human after all. The woman had large brown eyes and gingery brown hair, and when she brought herself fully into the doorway it became clear that, from the waist down, she was very much a deer. This was no satyr. It was a deer woman of Native American legend. She was dressed in a borrowed blouse and pleated skirt and smiled softly.
Dari waved and smiled. "Hello, Ivy."
The deer-woman smiled and raised a delicate hand. "Hello."
