The elevator slowed, then stopped. Two attendants in red vests and white gloves opened the gates for the group, bowed, then closed the gates as the Aquans walked onto the deck.
"Wow..." Rei muttered, at a loss for words. The deck was literally glimmering with opulence. Every table had a magnificent centerpiece, from ice sculptures to dazzling light displays. On a balcony, a group of Psychic Pokémon were using their abilities to create various illusions on the floor, making it seem like the guests of the ship were all standing on the ocean floor. The guests themselves all seemed to glow and shimmer in the evening light.
"Well, I don't even know where to start," Rei said, various attractions catching his eye. "I might try my hand at poker for a while."

Roses sylveon stepped off the elevator first, and Rose followed her and looked around "Wow, these people sure know how to party" she chuckled as Sylveon seemed to be looking at the psychic pokemon, possibly thinking about going over and playing with them, Rose guessed, but she was staying near Rose for now.

Allen straightens his hair in the elevator, looking in the dull reflection of the door, turning his head from side to side looking very carefully. He straightened his tie and ran his fingers through his hair one more time, trying to make sure everything was in place. The elevator dinged and the doors slid open. He scanned the room, looking for people he'd know before actually stepping in.
Back at the HQ, Lydia finally found a familiar Marshtomp. She made sure he knew what was up, there was a party and Caleb should definitely be there. I mean, I'm sure there will be food and a chance to dress up.

Caleb looked over his TADs at the message from Rei. He set it aside and put his headphones on before pressing the Play button on his iPod. Definitely not interested in some party. Nope. There were times for parties, and times for relaxing. This was a time for the latter, or so he thought.
Marshtomp waved whenever Lydia made her appearance. He had honestly been quite bored, sitting around their little HQ. When she announced the party to him, his eyes lit up. He hurried to Caleb's room, the look of joy turning into dismay when he saw Caleb laying on the bed. He wasn't getting ready for this party at all!
Marshtomp would have to do something about this!
Caleb opened his eyes when he felt a slight tug from the headphones. He blinked a bit when the music suddenly cut out. Glancing over at the pitter patter sound of running Marshtomp feet, he barely caught a glimpse of Marshtomp running out of the room with his little music device.
"...for Arceus sake..." Caleb muttered, rolling out of bed.

At the poker table, Rei cheered. He was on a winning streak! The dealer grinned and gave Rei a sealed gift bag for his successive wins at the game.
"Don't open it until the event starts!" she said with a wink. Rei nodded and happily made his way to the slot machines.
"I'd say my luck has never been higher, Countess," he said to his Zubat. She squeaked in agreement and glided around, proud to wear her black bowtie.

Rose and her Sylveon did go visit the psychic Pokemon for a while, then both headed over to a slow machine as well, Rose took the machine next to Rei's, figuring she'd just play slots a bit for the heck of it She wasn't really a gambler and it was more about passing the time while she observed her surroundings, she wasn't really expecting to win.

Allen made his way over to a Roulette table, he mostly just stood there and watched. He watched a lot of people sigh and angrily walk away and many less people cheer out when their number had been called out. The dealer looked directly at him, "Care to play sir?" Allen shook his head slightly, "I'm not that lucky." he grinned, The man nodded and went about his business with the other players.
Allen sighed, "On second thought..." And then he began playing.
Lydia zoomed off. Outside, near HQ she could be seen wearing an adorable dress that matched Allen's suit.

From the corner of Rei's eye, a flash of gold sparkled in a water fountain. Rei rose from his seat and walked over to the glimmering water, curious. In the pool, a school of Shiny Magikarp swam their way around, chewing on fish food.
"Woah," he remarked, momentarily wishing his Gyarados was a golden Magikarp. The spinning roulette table was next to catch Rei's attention, and he found himself sitting next to a familiar face.
"Oh. Hello, Allen," he said, placing his bets. "Testing your luck?"

Marshtomp rushed out of HQ as if his head was on fire. He flailed his arms, waving Caleb's iPod around. He ran in circles until Caleb came tearing out of the building before sprinting off as fast as his little stubby feet could carry him.
"....Shroo....mish...." Caleb wheezed. He took a deep breath before rushing after Marshtomp.
Hopefully Marshtomp knew where the party actually was.

Get away driver Lydia to the rescue! She zoomed off passed Caleb to meet up with Marshtomp who was running like the wind, the patter across the pavement brought a laugh out of her. She described the place and how to get there before zooming off through a building to get to where Allen was.
Allen looked up when Rei questioned him, "Yeah, I figured why not try my hand at it." He shrugged and turned to watch the ball settle in a slot, as it slowed down the dealer called out his number, "Huh." Allen shrugged, stunned.

Rei laughed in surprise.
"Well, luck was never my strong suit," he said, congratulating Allen on his win.
"I hear they're having a Pokémon dance competition a little further on. The Countess has been begging me to go and have a look." He hopped off the chair and stretched.
"I don't even know why she wants to participate. She can't dance." The Zubat bit Rei's hand in reply.

Marshtomp saluted her after she gave him directions, hurrying along down the street. Ah, where was a certain Noivern when you needed her? He pretended not to hear Caleb's shouting as he ran. How the heck had Caleb not caught up with him yet?
Because nerd stamina.
Marshtomp zoomed right onto ship and into the casino area, disappearing from sight.
The bouncer at the entrance raised an eyebrow, but let Marshtomp go without hesitation. How could that little guy be up to no good? He raised an eyebrow as Caleb came staggering towards him. Now this guy, he was clearly someone suspicious.
Marshtomp's eyes sparkled, his eyes watered as he stared at the most amazing sight he had ever encountered. All-you-can-eat buffet. With a chocolate fountain. His dreams had surely come true.

Allen chuckled, "Yeah, and with that win I'm not testing my luck." He chuckled, standing up to find Lydia floating towards him in her adorable dress. "What kept you?" He gave her a suspicious look to which she twirled around once, the frills from her dress flowing through to air. A woman a few feet away gave an 'aww' and continued on. Allen chuckled, "Hopefully you weren't hassling Caleb, the poor guy."
He looked over to Rei, then back to Lydia, "So, a Pokemon dance, you wanna participate?" Lydia nodded excitedly.

After Rei watched his Zubat fly around in 'interpretive dance,' he walked over to the decadent buffet table and selected a few chocolate oranges, savoring every bite. A chime overhead sounded, and the lights dimmed.
"Good evening, esteemed guests," a voice said, enhanced through the speakers on the ship and the help of a Psychic Pokémon. "We are now delighted to present to you the main attraction for tonight." At the center of the floor, a large table materialized, with twelve golden goblets arranged in a circle. The cups each had a different precious stone attached in various patterns.
"These are the Royal Gems of the Seafom Seel," the announcer said smoothly. "For years, they have been in possession of a man named Dr. Karr, a respected archaeologist in Unova." The table and goblets disappeared, and a spotlight shone on the roulette table.
"Dr. Karr loved gambling, especially the roulette. The man spent many a day absorbed in the game, and as a result, became rather pressed for funds." The spotlight changed color, emitting a dark red glow on the roulette table.
"Dr. Karr began associating with loan sharks to feed his terrible habit, but continued losing. The men and women who loaned him money harassed Dr. Karr incessantly, until one day, the man snapped. Using his Pokémon, Cofagrigus, he cursed his collection of goblets before giving it to the loan sharks, and thereafter promptly committed suicide." The light disappeared, and the table returned.
"Before he died, Dr. Karr wrote a letter addressed to the moneylenders:
You who torment me so, You have taken what is mine, so I shall take what is yours. Your only release lies in the spinning wheel."
The spotlights focused on both the table and the roulette, and the voice continued.
"The loan sharks each took possession of one goblet, taking no mind to the message. When the people disappeared, the goblets were taken by a family member or friend. A pattern emerged: everyone who obtained one of the twelve goblets disappeared within a few years."
Rei's heart sunk. He looked down at his gift bag he received from playing poker. Inside was a golden goblet, encrusted with onyx.
"Oh..." he muttered before disappearing. Eleven more guests in the crowd disappeared simultaneously, without a trace. A few guests screamed in surprise at the sudden loss of a friend.
"Now, then," the voice continued on, "our guests have the honor of breaking this horrible cycle. You have until the end of the party to find the clues hidden throughout the ship and solve the mystery. There is a prize awaiting those who succeed. Best of luck." The voice fell silent, and the deck returned to its previous setting, the lights returning to all the attractions.
Solve the mystery!

After being patted down by the bouncer, Caleb moved inside after the man announced he wasn't a threat. Then all the odd stares in his direction. Caleb was standing there barefoot. He hadn't even grabbed his coat before chasing after Marshtomp. A quick outfit change later, and he quickly was able to blend in.
Caleb moved through the crowd, mostly not paying attention to the voice over the speakers until there was screaming. He sighed exasperatedly as he rubbed his face. He just wasn't going to get to relax tonight was he?
Marshtomp peered out from under the buffet table as Rei disappeared.
Well that happened...
Slowly Marshtomp put down his cup of punch.
