Larvitar grabs onto Kadabra who teleports through several armor suits to destroy them before following Thard and Brian up the stairs.

~Sanctus Espiritus... "After that demon!" Maddy called out, giving chase to the Ghost Demon. She ran up the flight of stairs and was about halfway up when she had to stop to catch her breath. It was as if these stairs went on forever. Then again, from the castle view outside, the tower was pretty tall. Suddenly, her sister appeared in front of her! "Wha-what?!" Maddy jumped back, nearly tumbling down the stairs. Without a word, her sister rushed forward, slashing at Maddy with her sword.... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

"I don't have time for this!" I shout when I see Courtney advancing on Maddy. Doing a wall-kick, I leap up the stairs behind the elder sister and try to knock her out with my sword-hilt.

"Good grief," I roll my eyes at the trick, "Onward and upward. The slowpokes will have to get here in their own time."
I keep moving up the stairs at a brisk pace.

The room they came to next was large and circular. The walls, ceiling and floor were all mirrored and in the middle of the room was yet another throne. This once was more well-kept then the one down in the throne room. Atreyu sat on it in his original position. This time, an ornate black-hilted sword hung at his side. "Hmm... I guess my army just isn't how it used to be. I suppose I will have to take matters into my own hands." He stood up and his throne vanished. He drew his sword, the blade flashing as he pointed it at Thard. The demonic runes etched into the blade caught the light and glimmered. "I challenge you."

On entering the mirrored room, I realized how distracting the reflections could be. Thus I silently resolved to even the playing field. That was when Atreyu issued his challenge.
"I accept. Purge Wave!" I swing my swords at Atreyu, ending in a battle-ready stance. The arc of energy courses along the ground, breaking some of the mirrors.

Atreyu merely smirked and he faded away into smoke. The smoke split into many different sections, each one entering a mirror (only ones that were unscathed). Every untouched mirror now had an image of Atreyu. "Go ahead. Attack me. But which one am I?" It sounded as if his voice came from all directions. The images of Atreyu moved so they all now looked as if they were preparing an attack.
Ghost knights began to flood into the room through the walls for the others to deal with.

"You think me for a fool?" Knowing it would be useless to attack recklessly, I jump to one of the broken floor tiles and turn my back to the throne. The chances of him attacking from the walls were slim, but I still had to cover all angles. His most likely position was either the ceiling or floor, with an outside chance that all the reflections were phony and he was still on the throne.
I stand ready to defend.

Larvitar watches in awe. He'd never seen Thard fight all out like this. It was like poetry in motion.

Four images of Atreyu jumped from the mirrors, leaping at Thard and surrounding him. They swung their swords through the air in an attempt to slash him. Naturally, only one blow would actually land. The other three were fakes. As they move, the hair is lifted from their faces. Three of the images has black eyes, and the other has red eyes. Perhaps no one would notice amidst the action. "Die!!" They all said in unison.
More knights poured into the room, but these were different. There was one for each person (except Thard). These knights were about double the size of the minions, and there black armor was trimmed with gold. They were all equipped with a sword and shield. Purple eyes shone behind their helms.
