After weeks of planning, hours and hours of studying old texts, and countless days of research, Rei Hikari was ready. Pulling on his old cloak, he strolled out the door and made his way to the lobby, a bucket in hand. He pulled his hood low, his face darkened by the shadows. The lobby's orange glow made his partner's purple skin seem black, complimenting her red cape nicely. Clenched between the Zubat's tiny feet was a handle for a smaller, festive pail with bats painted on the outside.
"Alright, Countess," Rei said, determination in his voice, "let's go trick-or-treating." The two left the lobby posthaste, the old woman chuckling at the front desk as they disappeared into the night.

Michael walked into the door of the house and was happy to be back. Looking around for someone he then called out. "Hello anyone home?"

Rei waved hello to Michael from his sofa spot, his face aglow with the light of his holographic computer screen.
"Good afternoon, Michael," the Aquan said cheerily, closing the screen with a swipe of his hand. "Nice to see you again. Have a pleasant vacation?"

Rose and her sylveon came into the room and saw the others "Hey Michael" she and her Sylveon headed over towards the sofa where Rei sat, thinking to sit on the other end and groom her sylveon a bit with a brush that she was carrying.

Rei nodded his hello to Rose and looked down at the flat panel on his lap. The screen flashed for a moment, and a small notification came up to Rei's eye level. Upon reading it, his eyebrows raised.
"Huh... Thanks, computer," he said, dismissing the message. He turned to face the two.
"I just received an interesting notification on an event happening in Castelia's harbor. Some kind of party on a cruise ship," he stated, doing his best to keep his voice level. "Team Aqua's been invited. According to press, it's supposed to be the party of the year. Formal attire required." A shriek of joy burst forth behind Rei, and with a zoom, a ball of purple disappeared into his room.
"Well, the Countess is excited, so I guess that means I'm going. You are welcome to join me. I hear they've added a casino to the deck."

"Formal attire?" Rose asked, seeming interested "Does it specify what they consider to be 'formal' by any chance?" she asked Rei.

Michael waved to Rose and then turned to Rei. "If you could call it a vacation. Yes I had fun, oh and my dad says hey to everyone here." Michael was definetely tired from his long boat ride back but Countess' scream woke him up. Nodding to Rei when she said they could come he quickly headed upstairs to his room, and pulled out his suit. The plastic surrounding the suit was covered in dust, but upon unzipping it the fabric had not even a speck of dust. Quickly changing into the suit he then combed his hair, adjusted his glasses and tieing his tie, attaching his pocket watch, he headed downstairs to the others.

Rei pulled up the screen once more. After re-reading the invitation, he shrugged.
"Nope. I guess if it has to explain what formal attire is, you're not fancy enough?" He scratched his head, confused.
"Well, I'm sure the tailcoat I have from one of Maddy's parties will suffice," he said, only somewhat convinced.
"I'll go get changed. Come join me when you all are ready," he called out as he headed towards his room. As he approached his door, muffled squeaks and loud thumps were heard inside.
"Countess? What are you doing?" he asked, turning the knob.
Inside Rei's room, a Zubat and an Eevee were flinging clothes everywhere.
"I can't find my bowtie!!!" the bat exclaimed in dispair. "We're about to go to a party and I CAN'T FIND IT!!!" The Eevee's ears twitched.
"Well, I can't find my scarf, either, so now I have no idea what to do," Tsukuyomi said, slumping against the bedpost. "Maybe that crazy Mawile ate all of our stuff."
"Rosetta? Nah, she's always watching her weight," the Zubat grumbled, diving once more into the dresser. Rei entered his room just in time to get a face full of cloth.
"Umpf. Countess. What are you doing?"
A few minutes later, a disgruntled Rei and his Pokémon companions were seated at the lobby, all dressed to the nines.

 Rose went to her room and secured her red hair atop her head and put on a pink wig over it, careful to make it not look like a wig and to secure it nicely, then she quickly changed into what she thought was her nicest outfit, which had a very obvious with her Sylveon right beside her. Once her sylveon-themed attire was on, Rose and her sylveon left her room to join the others to head to the party.

Michael was waiting at the bottom when the two came back down he actually stared and said. "Wow y'all look amazin'. So shall we go?"

Rei stared in amazement at how little effort it took Rose to change outfits so drastically.
"I wish I could go through looks that easily," he muttered. "Ahem. Anyways," he said, his voice back at an appropriate pitch, "the ship's at Cruise Dock. Let's go." He led the small group out into the city, the sky glowing orange in preparation for the coming sunset. Festive lights greeted the team as they entered the harbor. Attendants and security assisted the guests as they made their way into the massive cruise liner, the Seafoam Seel. Rei pulled out his computer and showed the gruff security guard his group's invitation.
"Right this way, please," said the man after squinting for a moment at the group. He ushered them onto a gilded elevator and gave each member a map of the ship.
"This evening's theme is 'Mystery at the Roulette.' The Seafoam Seel wishes you a pleasant evening." With that, the man closed the elevator's gate and went back to his post. As the elevator carried the group up to the deck, Rei looked down at the paper.
"Mystery at the Roulette? A party theme? Sounds fun," he said. "I wonder if this is some sort of fundraising event."

"Thanks, Michael" Rose said cheerfully "Yeah, Sylveon and I are ready to go, we have everything we need."
Sylveon hopped around excitedly, eager to see a new place she hadn't seen before.
Rose followed the others to the party and looked at Rei "Coming here was a good idea, I needed a good excuse to wear this outfit anyway."

Rei nodded.
"I figured the group hasn't been able to do much lately, so a change of pace is welcome. And that outfit looks amazing! Is it from Kalos?" he asked, the elevator slowly rising.

As Michael followed the others he opened his Pokeball and out popped Squirt. As they got on the elevator he quickly asked if Squirt would be able to ride and the guard assured him the only thing it could not hold was a Snorlax. When the theme was told Michael adjusted his glasses and began to think. "Wonder what kind of mystery. Murder? Theft? Arson? Hmm I don't know. Any guesses?"

Rose grinned "Yeah, I got it from a clothing store in Lumiose City, very nice place, but well worth it. It's just not very practical for every day use. Except for this." Rose lifted her left sleeve a bit and shored off three pokeballs that were secured just above her capture styler "Just because there's a party, doesn't mean I don't come prepared for anything, right?
