{Yuffie .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fairgrounds}
"Huh, me?" Yuffie asked, startled at the turn. She'd expected to be teasing Cloud for at least fifteen more minutes. "Well, um… I-I dunno. I never really thought about it. Oh, wait, I know! I'd be a treasure hunter! I'd track down all the rarest treasures and go on awesome adventures and stuff!"

[ Noelle ~ Hall of the Cornerstone]
Noelle held her breath and clenched her hands over her tightening chest as their view of Kyle's battle ceased. Her eyes darted to Kyle in his chair, her feet faltering as she made an attempt to go to him. Fear filled her being, freezing her in place. She was too scared to investigate, too afraid to find out for herself whether or not he had made it. Merlin took up the task himself. The agromancer watched him carefully, looking for any sign up triumph. Noelle stifled a wail as there was none, only despair in the old wizard's body language. Her lip ached between her teeth as her eyes welled again. Tears nearly blurred her vision too much to see Merlin's next reaction, but she caught it in an instant, the agony inside her briefly put on hold.
"He'll make it."
Noelle wanted to celebrate in the manner that Sora was, but just didn't have the energy. All tension and grief drained from her body in a flash, leaving her feeling around for the closest chair to collapse into. Her back barely occupied the backrest, just her head and shoulders as most of her being slid off the chair and came to rest where her feet stopped it.
Though her hands were pressed over her face, a soft and shaky "Thank God . . . Thank God . . ." could be heard from her.

[Joe: Hall of the Cornerstone]
The monk's shoulders tensed up when Sora grabbed him. Jerked to the side, he watched what happened with amazement.
Once it was all over, and with a small little gust of wind to wipe his eyes and a sniff to clear his nose, the male straightened himself up. Hearing that he'd make it...seemed to do something for Joe.
"Okay. Okay good. Okay." He kept muttering that, over and over. And nodding. A lot of nodding.
Finally, he let out a large sigh and became quiet, biting at his bottom lip as he watched Kyle.

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Hall of the Cornerstone]
' someone is.. hold me...'
she remembers thinking.

Though the wizard confirmed that Kyle would be alright, the second half of his reply kept Kyle rooted to the spot where she stood, she neither responded, broke eye contact or released the death grip on her book. She just stood there with the warmth of a comforting presence keeping her form losing it all together. Truth be told, Kyla didn’t feel she had a right to say anything, or do, or feel anything. Not in light of everything that happened leading up to this. In light of previous events she wasn’t ready to embrace any form of relief yet- not until Kyle was truly back with them. Too many times did she let her guard down and think for a second they were in the clear, only to have that hope snatched from her.
No, she would wait. She would wait until he spoke, until he looked at them all square in the eyes, and confirmed to them himself that he was alright and they found no lie in that.
Not until she knew who stood before her was someone with his heart together once more and out of danger. She could be patient.

{James : Disney Castle : Hall of the Cornerstone} {{Cue: Those Who are Shining}} The corsair recoiled slightly from where he stood as Sora grabbed Joe and Riku out of the way as the Cornerstone's beam of light struck Kyle and he watched as the dragoon's battle finally came to a close. When the globe continued to reveal nothing but white James turned his attention back to Kyle who remained still in his chair, his breathing the only indication that he was still alive. The gunner kept his focus on Merlin as the wizard examined the dragoon. The corsair tensed as at first Merlin's reaction was only a heavy sigh of despair only for it to turn into another sigh of relief. "He'll make it,"The corsair couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief of his own as he too collapsed into one of the chairs. His right hand running through his hair as he looked up at the ceiling. He simply smiled, glad that it was over and that Kyle would be alright. He looked at Noelle as she rested, as much off of the chair as in it. He placed his hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle reassuring squeeze as she voiced the words that he was definitely thinking. He was glad it seemed to have all worked out, despite his screw-up that at least he felt had nearly cost them, or at least him, everything. for now though, they could relax, they had done their job and everything would be alright.

[ Errone : Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone ]"It's nothing short of a miracle, I must say," Merlin said, giving a small smile, though as his gaze turned to Yen Sid, it slightly faltered."Merlin, stay here to watch over the boy," the sage spoke, finally breaking his silence, his tone as stoic as it had always been. "The rest of you—with me."He turned away from them, as if to walk somewhere, and as he did, he brought up the side of his cloak somewhat in a flourish. In that moment, everyone in the room, save Merlin and Kyle, was teleported into none other than Yen Sid's Study, at the top of the Mysterious Tower; as a result, they were no longer within the Cornerstone's influence. Consequently, the ever-present warmth was left behind, but though it was noticeable, it did not make reality seem colder by comparison. One might compare it to simply removing a helpful, but unnecessary, crutch. Yen Sid appeared behind his desk, Noelle appeared in one of the small nearby chairs, and the others remained standing in various locations in front of the wizard. Behind him, through the windows, they would see no stars, no constellations; instead, now that all the worlds had combined, they saw the World Convergence itself, as if the Tower was some small satellite hovering in space. Taking a seat, the wizard closed his eyes and rested his elbows on the desk, tenting his hands in thought. Sora and Riku unconsciously, as if by muscle memory alone, moved to stand in front of the desk at a relaxed attention. "Joseph," Yen Sid spoke, his eyes opening without warning, already, inexplicably, focused on the one-eyed monk. "I am told you claim leadership. Please report what happened, from the time you entered Kyle's heart until the time you destroyed the seal."

[Joe: Mysterious Tower: Yen Sid's Study]
The male blinked, looking around the study. It was a tad bit jarring, if only because of the sudden scene change. Of course, it's not like he had time to think about it, as he was suddenly called out to report as 'leader'.
Hoo boy...
"The drop went off without a hitch. Once in, we were led by Ultima to the path to seal, and upon breaking it open, we went forward while in formation. We faced a few minor battles that were handled with relative ease." The male seemed to get into the groove of his talking, legs slightly apart, arms behind his back as one hand gripped the wirst of his other arm.
"Upon arriving at the seal, we found a..." He seemed to pause while searching for the word. "Piece of Seymour in the form of his Aeon...his mother. After a small discussion, she was 'absorbed' into the darkness. Sora then attempted to remove the seal with his Keyblade. Complicatiosn arose when Anima appeared as the guardian of the seal."
Joe seemed to falter a bit over the next part, face going a bit red as he started to speak, stopped, then finally pushed himself through it. "It was strong, and we struggled for a bit. There was some small discussion about...wanting to not destroy Anima. I attempted to get us refocused on the fight instead of worrying about saving something trying to kill us, but I...only escalated a sense of unease among us. Which caused a small rift between a few of our team. The male was bright red at that point, embarassed at his own 'mistake'.
"Instead of trying to alleviate the situation, feeling my...um...speech skills sucked too much, I instead focused on the fight as a front liner." Yup, he managed to actually get redder. "The fight continued, and then after a...small mishap involving James trying to...reason with the enemy, we eventually managed to fight the beast off and remove the seal, upon which we came out of the drop."
The fighter's hands behind his back seemed to fidget, the fingers clenching into fists and unfurling occasionally. He thought he covered everything, perhaps not in great detail, but that was the basic report.

[Kyla: Disney castle> Mysterious Tower: Yen Sid’s Study]
She didn’t want to leave- she had to see to make sure he was back, but before she could say even a word they were gone? ‘-what where? Where is this?’
The hall, the light, the castle … the stone, was gone. They stood in a study with books file don shelves, the mood lighting made it less bright then the Hall with the cornerstone but good for easy reading. It wasn’t cold, perfect temperature- the familiar and pleasing scent of paper, ink and dust met her senses. There were half burnt candles laid about.
Kyla would have wondered to whom does that one skull belong to with a half melted candle, had the fatigue, worry, anxiety and soreness in her back all creepy back into her person. Wherever they were, it wasn’t near the cornerstone any more.
They were back in the real world now, beyond its protective limits. At least far away enough it’s influence wasn’t working any more. Kyla felt… just awful. Just down right awful.
Tired. Mentally, physically, emotionally. Her heart- it felt just...so heavy. It hurt inside her chest. Everything she had felt before came back to revisit her. Joe was angry, they all were. She screwed up royally inside Kyle’s heart- and that…
That seal! That style looked so familiar, how could she not have noticed it before?!
Her back hurt, perhaps not as badly as it had before they arrived but coupled with everything else it hurt none the less. Shock from everything was catching up to her. Her body was slowly, ever so softly trembling and she hugged her book to her front even tighter if possible while she stood a step behind the main group before the wizard in his chair.
‘Just hold it together….
Just hold it together…’
~ It’s ok Kyla, we’re here too. Just relax. It’s almost over. After that- you’re going to get some well needed rest.~
If she could sleep- but after having seen into the eldritch horror itself- how could she possibly expect to ever sleep again? She only half heard Joe responding to Yen Sid, and relay the events of what happened. More and more Joe didn’t look as confidant but still, form her vantage point she could see his fingers were fidgeting, and his speech was becoming more less composed.

[ Yen Sid ; Sora ; Riku : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Tower ]
Yen Sid listened intently, neither nodding nor shaking his head, simply absorbing the information given.
After Joe finished, his gaze turned to Sora. "You confirm this story?"
"Yes, sir," Sora replied calmly, nodding. "With some additions. Halfway through the battle, Anima was... possessed by something. From how Riku described the Atlantis battle, I'd say it was that dark abomination. And it tried to do the same to me."
"Tried?"
"Well, I resisted and overcame it, as you trained me," Sora explained.
Yen Sid nodded, his face once more stoic, contemplative. He glanced around at the Earthlings, his gaze unfaltering.
"This rift you speak of," he began, turning once more to Joe. "Elaborate on the conflict. I will hear both sides, but I will hear the outside perspective first."

[Joe: Mysterious Tower: Yen Sid's Study]
Joe mentally kicked himself when Sora added on one more bit of information. How in the world did he forget that already...? Not like he had time to dwell on it, as Yen Sid asked him for another recollection of what happened.
"Well, there was a minor...unsettling moment. Kyla mentioned saving Anima. I tried to reprimand her for thinking of something else in the middle of a battle. And then Noelle seemed to have not been too happy with what Kyla said either. And then Kyla appeared to have got offended while James tried to reason with Anima which got him hurt which took a bit to get him out considering Kyla and Noelle argued after Kyla tried to tell Noelle to not heal James instead trust her with her plan we didn't really know what it was and Noelle argued and then Dawn stepped in to heal James and...excuse me.
Joe realized he had become a rambling 'gossiper' and recollected himself. It basically became a...trust issue after a misunderstanding which I didn't quite help ease"

[ Yen Sid ; Sora ; Riku : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Tower ]
Once more, Yen Sid was quiet. He waited, silence filling the room for a few moments, before talking again.
"Kyla," he started, his gaze immediately finding the artist behind the rest of the group. "Please step forward. This started on your behalf, so I would hear the tale from you, as well. Then Noelle shall step forward and do the same."

[Kyla: Yen Sid’s Study]
By the time Joe had wrapped up his side of the story, Kyla had finally caught back up with the moment again. She kept silent the entire time; allowing the bow users words to give perspective to the situation that had unfolded not even more then 5 minutes ago, give or take how time flowed in deep dive in comparison to the real world.
When the penetrating gaze of the wizard focused on her, she felt like a deer in the head lights and shame gnawed at her core making her suddenly cold and shivering. Kyla almost didn’t move, seeming rooted to the floor where she stood. But fear of provoking the wrath of the powerful wizard she took a shaky stumbling step forward, her gate was slow and didn’t’ look steady. When she stood at equal closeness to the table Kyla took a deep shaky breath to calm her self.
“The situation unfolded just as Joe had said sir.”
Another small breath, knowing too well that was too short to be satisfactory.
"After descending into the dive we arrived before a woman. We could not communicate with her like Sora could; he alone seemed able to talk with her before she was swallowed up by the darkness.
Despite best efforts she was consumed and we were forced to fight her in order to reach the seal."
‘She was swallowed up, by that thing. That horrible creature- in the dark. Gone, just like that, the poor poor woman.’
“I took pity on her. Seymour’s mother was another victim in my eyes, and previous events have made me cautious whenever confronting anything that seemed not entirely in control of their own actions. While I suspected something else was afoot- I did not want to believe she was completely without hope and voiced my concerns if destroying her was truly the only way to achieve our objective. Regardless, it turned out to be foolishness, for the woman was consumed by the entity from back in Atlantis. There was nothing left to reason with … or rescue.”
“ As for the other thing… Seeing nothing we did landed any fatal hits, James was dealt a horrible blow at the that moment, I had used a great deal of my power and it was imperative to me at the time to ensure my allies were fully buffed for the nest assault. Anima’s blows were just too dangerous. I have in my arsenal two forms of healing magic I have used previously, one being the kind that syphon damage from one ally to another. The damage dealt to James seemed sufficient that if draw the damage away from him- instead of regular healing, I could trigger my own Limit Break and cast a more powerful group wide rebuff before Anima had another chance to strike. So I requested, if Noelle withhold her healing for that one time.”
“Up till now however, I have not given anyone here any countenance to rely on my abilities or provided solid proof of my competence in battle. My actions as of late are incredible suspect, and Noelle had never seen me use such healing abilities before so she had little to no reason to put any faith in my plan. Her response while reasonable, something was added with that I did not expect she thought of me, and for a moment I was ups- I was enraged. (there was no point sugar coating it) - and disappointed. The timing of this conflict was incredibly inappropriate as well. I had been incredibly insufficient and incompetent thus far I admit, but I hadn’t realized my own persona in the eyes of my peers had been skewed in that specific way. Out of all the things to imagine I must look like to others- this specific claim was the furthest thing in my priorities.”
Her gaze dropped to the table top, unable to meet the wizards’s any longer under the weight of her feelings.
“I hadn’t realized how selfish and self-serving I must look to others. The shock of this realization delayed my actions, and so James was healed by Dawn.”
“I reiterated my loyalties, and the battle continued. Instead I syphoned my remaining mana into 2 final attacks and a longer rebuff, which thankfully was able to be recast in time before Anima could counter. The rest of the fight played out as Joe describes.”
Kyla's recount was strictly analytical, perhaps harsh, and her monotone made her sound like a computer reiterating data. It was a classic tactic she used to steel herself so she wouldn't lose her composure. Beneath her thick rimmed glasses was a storm of emotions brimming to the point her eyes could have been seen to water had she nod bowed her head at the last second.
She refused to cry.
The lady was done- dead, snuffed out by the entity.
Everyone was disappointed yet again.
she failed yet again She ******** dup royally and almost got everyone killed yet again. She nearly got Kyle killed yet again..
Kyle was a wreck- and now she knew she had even more to do with it then she originally had thought.
She was tired. So tired.
-and afraid.
But she refused to cry infront of anyone. Instead she screamed inside her heart, a long loud and sorrowful noise. Like a keening animal shut away in a steel chamber where no one heard it howl.

"Thank you," he spoke, nodding in acknowledgement before turning his gaze to Noelle. "Noelle, I would hear your side now."

[ Noelle ~ Mysterious Tower ~ Yen Sid's Study]
Noelle peeked through her fingers as she noticed a distinct change in lighting through her hands. The change in scenery made her sit up in her chair and look around, her body feeling tired without the comfort of the Cornerstone. Her stomach knotted up at the mention of the tiff that happened during the battle--she knew this wasn't going to go over well. Joe described what happened and Kyla was invited to speak first, leaving Noelle to fidget behind everyone. When Yen Sid said her name she jumped a little. The small blonde cautiously got to her feet and approached to stand and give her side. How to even start . . .
"I'm not about to defend my actions, because I can't." Noelle began, wringing her fingers slightly, "I lost my cool and it shouldn't have happened, and I regret every minute of it. I'm really, really sorry, everyone. Especially to you, James." She looked to the gunner, "I should have been doing my job, but I wasn't thinking straight . . . wasn't considering my options. I guess I need more training in healing . . ."
The agromancer sighed and looked back to Yen Sid. She knew he was more than likely displeased with Kyla and herself, but no more displeased than Noelle was. "I was angry and I shouldn't have been. Things were just going so well before Kyla . . . well, caused a hiccup. I was mad that she would risk Kyle's life and our lives by pausing to reconsider our objective. She even disregarded Sora's input, and though his word isn't law he has more knowledge and experience than the lot of us combined. So I got upset. Then, to make matters worse, Kyla told me not to heal James. I just couldn't tolerate her fooling around with the life of one of our team members, especially because she didn't even indulge what it was she was going to do. I snapped and told her I wouldn't tolerate it--whatever else she said about it she decided on her own, there was no other intention behind it besides a firm, though angry, no. My behavior was inappropriate and I know that, I shouldn't have let myself get so out of place. I need to be a better teammate. It won't happen again."

[Elleon ~ New Orleans ~ Cafe du Monde]
Ell didn't respond for a moment, tapping her finger as the waiter brought their drinks. She told him it would be another 5 minutes before they had their orders and eyed him as he moved on to other tables. If their conversation was overheard they might have to create a fuss. Once the waiter was well out of range, Ell took a sip of her wine and smiled.
"And you're asking little ol' me?" The blonde crossed her legs and leaned in, "But there's a lovely witch doctor down the street that's just so good at what he does. I do suppose he charges higher prices, though. Nevermind all that then, what kind of favor could possibly make up for, as my senses tell me, saving your life?"
