Maddy straightened up in her seat as the spotlights aimed towards the entrance where the contestants were about to enter the hall.
[Walk out onto the stage in single file. Your order is alphabetical, based on your Pokémon. As you assume your position on stage, you should give the crowd a little hint of the appeal you're about to show. Try to intimidate some of your opponents and excite the crowd.]

As they walked out in the front of everyone else, Amaura pranced cutely, forming a mist of ice around herself and freezing the floor around them. Rose was accustomed to walking on a sheet of ice,so she had no trouble at all, though she thought some of her opponents walking behind her might not be so fortunate, meaning freezing the floor and filling the air with a mist that Amaura used to create a beautiful aurora not only gave Amaura an excellent first impression, but also hindered the others from doing the same.

As Allen entered into the massive arena, he noticed quite a few of the trainers and Pokemon were pretty off put by the mist Rose's Amaura brought to the table. Allen winked at Lydia, "Warm it up a bit with a Will-O-Wisp dance, eh?" He leered at Rose, as pretty princess Lydia danced out onto the stage, at first she could barely be seen through the white mist, but soon two bright blueish purple fires erupted form her hands, and as she danced it burned quite a bit of the mist away from the rest of the contestants. Not to mention the kind of menacing glare the flames gave her dancing. He smirked, not only did the fire get rid of what could have been a doozy for the dance routine Allen and Lydia had thought up for stage performance, but now Allen knew for sure it was something he could easily fix into the routine with a little chat with Lydia.

The boy clicked his tongue as the mist cleared. "Well we might not be able to use that to our advantage anymore...but let's show them what we have up our sleeves!" he raised his rapier so that it pointed towards the ceiling.
Marshtomp slid across what remained of the ice and onto the field.
"Start things off with a nice little Rain Dance..." the boy said gently, pointing the rapier and moving it gently in a circular motion. Almost as though he were conducting, rather than sword fighting.
Marshtomp pirouetted and danced until drizzle rained down from the ceiling above them. The lights gave the rain a bit of an extra shimmer.

The crowd cheered, growing impatient. The announcer said some more things, Maddy didn't know, she was only watching, not listening. Nothing could get between her and her popcorn. She liked seeing the competitiveness between her teammates, though.
[It's time for your first appeal. That will conclude tonight's part of the contest. The order you must appeal in is reverse alphabetical order, by Pokémon.]

The boy flicked his rapier upwards, moving his feet as he backed up, and then parried an imaginary opponent. "Now show them an Ice Beam!"
Marshtomp nodded, rearing his head back before shooting a beam of ice into the center of the field. A pillar of ice formed, which Marshtomp jumped up onto the top of. He spun around like a top, before removing his hat and bowing to the audience.
The boy gave a slight nod to his Pikachu, who jumped forward. Electricity erupted from the rodent's cheeks, rushing towards the pillar and causing an explosion. The smoke cleared, revealing flurries of ice that fluttered down to the ground. Marshtomp stood in the middle, on top of what remained of the pillar. The ice glittered under the stage lights, giving off light very much like a prism.

Allen had applauded while watching Marshtomp's performance. and after the next few passed he heard his name called. He and Lydia walked to the side of the stage waiting for the announcer to stop. Allen put out his hand to the man, asking politely for the microphone. The announcer nodded, handing it over, confused.
He tossed it high into the air for Lydia to catch and use it as a baton to dance with to center stage. she again tossed it spinning high into the air and allowed it to drop into her mouth. Instantly there was exciting violin music music playing over the speakers. "Will-O-Wisp!" Her dance matched the beat of the song so perfectly, every stop and lull in the music was represented with a different maneuver. Finally the music began building up for a crescendo, she swirled in a circle, the dual wisps in her hands extending out into a spiral. "Now, Phantom Force!"
Lydia ducked low, and shot up from the ground, almost instantly vanishing from sight, leaving only a thinning streams of spiraling wisp to peter out in the air.
A few moments, with the intense break before the final high note, four black orbs appeared and in a burst of what looked like glass Lydia appeared high above the stage to float down to the floor, just embers of the burning wisps releasing thick curly smoke trails as she made her way slowly to the ground. Finally, the song ended and the Banette, pulled the dry as ever microphone from her body.
Allen walked over to stand by her and bow in all four directions before finally bringing the mic back over to the announcer and moving off stage.

Another competitor went after Allen, then it was Rose's turn, and she and Amaura stepped up to do their best. Before round, she and the others or team aqua had certainly stood out, while her idea had caught most of the other competitors unprepared and their entrance was less then graceful. At this stage, she realized that the other Aqua's were likely her greatest competition.
As they moved into position, rose gave her Amaura some last minute instructions and they got into position and struck a cute pose "Amaura, combine your hail with echoed voice" Rose ordered
Amaura created a hail cloud in the competition arena, and promptly followed that up by singing a beautiful, powerful, note, causing the hail clouds to whiten and transforn the hail into a refreshing and soft snow, with each snowflake becoming a tiny little aurora of its own in a beautiful display. All the tiny aurora's seemed to make Amaura, who looked positively giddy, shimmer beautifully.

The crowd cheered happily as the end of the first round came to an end. The announcer told them all that the final round of the contest was the following day and with that, the contest hall lights came back on and the show was over.
Team Aqua eventually regathered again in the main lobby of the contest hall. "Well, let's come back here tomorrow for the next part. I know one of you is definitely gonna win!" She brought her hand to her mouth, covering it as she yawned. "Anyway, I'm totally down for renting out a place here. I'll look into it. See you all later!" Just like that, Maddy was gone.

After the previous days Pokemon competition, Rose and her Amaura were eager to return and challenge the rest of the Competition, and to see who would win in the end, so they arrived early and waited for the competition to start in entry area.

Maddy was standing outside the contest hall of Nimbasa City, a cigarette placed firmly between the pointer and index fingers of her right hand. It had been a long time since she had allowed herself a smoke. Taking a long drag off the cigarette, she blew a puff of smoke up at the sky. "I wonder who is gonna win today..."

Allen noticed Rose a few paces ahead of him, he didn't really wanna get too close, competitive spirit and all. He looked over to Lydia who was walking next to him, she was twiddling with her scarf, looking down. "You're really nervous." He said softly. She jumped, even with how soft his voice was and chuckled slightly, going back to fiddling.

Stealth master Marshtomp was busy ducking in and out of the crowd, clearly looking for someone. Not Caleb of course, since that butthead didn't seem to like contests for some reason. Marshtomp jumped when someone tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around to see the girl from before.
"Hey there!" she said with a wave.
Marshtomp fumbled around with the little bag he had brought along. He was still a bit surprised with the fact that Caleb even owned a fanny pack. He pulled out Caleb's TADs. Clearly the guy wouldn't notice that missing. Or the poké balls that had been borrowed again.
Hello c:
"I wasn't sure if you were going to be back today..." she said. She glanced around for a second, blinking a bit. "Where's your trainer at today?"
Marshtomp huffed and rolled his eyes.
Who knows.
The smile on the girl's face wilted a little. "I see..."

Maddy finished off her cigarette and went inside. Waving her ticket at the man at the hall entrance, she entered the wide, open room and took her seat among the others. She glanced around, wondering if Caleb had already gotten seats or even decided to come today. In the meantime, she ordered herself the largest bag of popcorn.
