[[Rufus : Shinra Headquarters : CEO Office]]

"Thank you," he said with some level of exasperation. Rufus looked back to his papers and rubbed his eyes. With a flick of his wrist he pressed the red button again rleasing an audible long-toned beep, "And Stephanii, bring me another cup of coffee. Black this time."

Je suis a toi
[Elleon ~ New Orleans ~ Cafe du Monde]

Ell rolled her eyes and walked forward toward the entrance to the restaurant, adjusting her shawl. "I say that sensitive region between your legs will be removed with a rusty fork if you call me doll again." She replied tartly, offering a devilish sneer, "And nobody ever said I wasn't asking for trouble."

The blonde lead the way into Cafe du Monde, requesting a table for two and following the waiter to be seated at a quiet table near the back. Once seated she ordered a glass of white zinfandel for herself, and a scotch on the rocks for Nicholas without asking--it didn't matter what he wanted anyway.

"So," Ell mused as soon as the waiter was gone, "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

[Nick :: New Orleans :: Cafe du Monde]

"Ooh, so violent~ You scare me so much sometimes, Ell." The Avatar of Chaos giggled, glaring at people who gave him awkward looks. He carefully sat in the seat, wincing as he shifted into the chair. As Elleon ordered him a scotch on the rocks, he couldn't help but smile. Was this some sort of test? He was a fan of most alcohol, but scotch was one he usually avoided. But he'd grit his teeth and drink it. Appearances are important, after all.

"I'm not proud to ask, but I need a favor, Elleon. You should have healing abilities; I'm sitting with what I believe are to be broken ribs. I'm willing to trade for a favor or something in exchange for you fulling healing my ribs. Simple enough?"

[ Dr. Cidolfus ; Dr. Hojo ; Grunts ; Patient 0 : Radiant Garden : ShinRa Labs ]

The mechanical doors slid open with a hiss, causing the white-coated Hojo to turn from a cot and peer toward his visitors. The man lying on the cot remained motionless.

"Doctor Hojo, I presume?" the elaborately-clothed scholar called out, smiling rather jovially for a man surrounded on all sides by armed guards.

"Doctor Cidolfus," Hojo replied curtly before turning his disdainful glance toward the escorting bodyguards. "You, come take this one to his observation room down the hall, two-two-zero-nine."

The men stiffened, glancing to one another. "We've been ordered to remain as escorts--"

"Oh, then you must be the new subjects Rufus promised me," Hojo muttered, lifting his chin up as if to give them a better view through the bottom of his lenses. "Unless you think me unable to protect myself against a lone man?"

Their complexions paled before shaking their heads, saluting, and grabbing the unconscious man, whose skin was ghastly pale with strange bruising, to bring down the hall. Hojo and Cid were, at last, alone.

Without warning, if there were any monitoring devices that were not simply the lab's closed circuit, they were turned off.

Hojo smiled--a friendly, amicable smile to match his visitor. "I've heard much about you, doctor."

"Please, call me Cid--all this formality will sound pompous after a few moments," Cidolfus said, chuckling as he walked over to the fellow scientist and offering a hand to shake, which Hojo took. The comparison was odd, as Hojo was very lithe, and Cidolfus was actually fairly built by comparison. "I take it we can speak privately?"

"This lab is completely secured, with closed circuit monitoring. ShinRa prefers it that way," Hojo explained, chuckling under his breath. "Heaven forbid the boy get his hands dirty."

"Well, all the better. Nothing our mutual friend won't take care of, anyway," Cidolfus smiled, shrugging before looking off to the closed door. "Now, your research--please, do elaborate. Venat only gave me the barebones of it, but I am most fascinated, and I think I may be able to help."

[ Noelle ~ Hall of the Cornerstone]

Noelle inhaled sharply as her senses came back to her, blinking and trying to regain her bearings. She felt as if she had just been awoken from the middle of a REM sleep cycle, the drop fresh in her mind. Her mind started to clear as the others got up, and for a brief moment she felt triumphant. This faded as Yen Sid told them it wasn't quite over. The small blonde got to her feet and stepped over to the globe everyone's attention was on, bending at the waist slightly as she peered into it. Kyle's fight wasn't over yet, and despite helping purge the seal, she still felt powerless.

"Hmm, that's new." Noelle murmured in regards to Kyle's clothing, trying to hide her worry and fear.

[ Heroes : Hall of the Cornerstone ]

"Um," Dawn began, looking more than a bit concerned. "The black and white is one thing, but why... is everything on fire...?"

"He's tapping into as much power as he can muster. The form, the fires, the bonds," Yen Sid explained, his gaze unwavering, his tone as stoic as usual. "While inside his heart, he's accessing everything he can and pushing it to its limits."

"How long has he been at it?" Sora asked, watching the dragoon descend, breaking through the magic circles.

Riku crossed his arms. "Since shortly after you dropped."

[ Kyle ; ¿ Seymour ? : Station of Awakening ]

Kyle, the root is destroyed--I'm coming to assist you--

Thank you, but no--I need to make this point myself. He'll be destroyed soon enough.

I certainly hope you're right.

"Was that an attempt to frighten me, boy?" the two-voice entity asked, Seymour's golden eyes looking at Kyle incredulously through the fire. "If so, you should work on your presentation. Less spectacle, more substance."

With narrowed eyes, Kyle finally stood up, the flames whipping around him. For a moment, nothing happened.

A wyvern-hearted vigilance.

Then, without a hint of movement, a person appeared to Kyle's left behind a wisp of fire, clothed in a white, hooded cloak that hid his face. He was easily a few inches taller than Kyle, and equally broad-shouldered. Seyhanort only sign of surprise was a raised brow--

A spear to both desolate and preserve.

--and then, as suddenly as before, a second form appeared, this time to Kyle's right. Cloaked in identical veiling garb, and a head shorter than the dragoon, this form was definitely feminine. At this point, the guado recoiled slightly, taking a single step back in preemptive defense.

"Remember what I said? We empower one another--and we maintain that strength even when they're not here... or taken away."

The power of the dragoon.

The entire mosaic pillar rumbled as a large scaled claw, easily big enough to hold person in its grasp, clamped down on the ground to Seyhanort's right--followed shortly by an identical, opposite claw on his left.

Startled, the visage-cloaked guado spun on his heels, turning around to see the source--

and stared up into the burning eyes of a massive, light-infused dragon, whose visible insides burned with all the intensity of the station itself, as it rose from the depths surrounding the pillar.

{ Guren no Yumiya ~ Attack on Titan }

"RAVARENOS!"

As if on command, the towering wyrm bellowed with world-rending might, forcing Seyhanort to pull his arms up to his face in protection. The moment he did so, however, the two cloaked fighters rushed him from behind. The woman struck first, going low and sweeping his legs from underneath him with a summoned spear of her own, followed by a swift uppercut to knock him slightly airborn. The man flew in then with an identical spear, unleashing a short juggling combination attack before pulling back, coat arms surging with light, and striking the guado with enough force to send him high into the sky.

Kyle's eyes gleamed, his grin, ecstatic. "TO THE SKIES!"

They soared up after him, the two forms rocketing off with wings like rocket thrusters, the dragon unleashing a single powerful flap that propelled it in a blur. Kyle remained on the ground--and the visage of Kyla appeared. His spears suddenly began to fly across the station in odd patterns, tracing the flames, scraping the glass, and he hovered cautiously inches off the floor.

Above, Seyhanort recomposed in a flurry of darkness, lashing out by unleashing a storm of black lightning down below. The male form braced itself, spear up and enveloped in white fire--on contact, the two energies reacted and exploded, sending the cloaked man reeling. But in his place rushed the woman, assaulting the guado with a flurry of piercing and slashing flourishes, which he parried and guarded, clashing metal echoing around. She pushed off with one fierce strike, and Seyhanort prepared another charge--only to be rammed from the side by the dragon, its mouth clamping down on his body. Together, they ascended.

The spears below ceased tracing, and a station-wide glyph, filled with unintelligible patterns, shined brilliantly through the flames as Kyle rocketed into the sky after them, Kyla's visage fading away.

After rising even farther above the station, darkness began to condense and surge from the dragon's mouth, and as if expelling a poison, it turned toward the ground, whipped its neck, and threw Seyhanort out, unleashing a searing stream of golden flames after him. The villain covered himself in a black dome, letting the fire pass over him--only to be skewered from behind by the male figure. With a powerful contortion, he spiraled around, dragging the body with him, and let him loose downward once more--

--straight into the female form, which unleashed another swift combo, knocking him higher--

--at which point Kyle arrived, the visage of James overtaking him as he clawed at Seyhanort through multiple, Sonic-Blade like passes, coming from multiple angles, heights, blurring in time-distortion. The final strike was a powerful meteor kick that seemed to echo with the howl of a wolf, sending the guado spinning down, down, down, followed by a barrage of six rapidly-fired starshots.

The massive glyph below grew blinding before it shattered, and every "shard" that broke off took one of the two forms of Kyle's swallow spears, made of light, and the enhanced Flurry of Blades erupted upward, dozens and dozens of spears of light homing in on Seyhanort. He attempted to reorient, to recover mid-fall, and unleashed a thick wave of black flame in the process.

The first few spears struck the wall, sticking to it and fading away, but not even a dozen more came before the wave gave way. The two-fold seeker was pierced and stabbed and skewered countless times, each strike holding him in the air, sending him higher, before finally they were all within, erupting in a flash of fire and light--at which point the two cloaked forms descended, striking him simultaneously down into the inferno.

Kyle, now standing on the dragon's shoulder as it made its descent, was enveloped with the specter of Matthew--and with another bellowing roar, the dragon unleashed a torrent of iridescent needles, thousands, each causing a small eruption of a different element on contact, pinning Seyhanort to the station.

The fiend below roared in fury, unleashing a giant eruption of darkness from his position that both freed him and stunned the airborne fighters. The aftermath had him already standing, summoning the starry field of magic that was his Dark Ultima, just as Kyle landed in front of him, bracing himself for the sudden convergence of energy.

By the time the spell had passed, Seyhanort had pulled his blade back, preparing to unleash a visceral assault--except his legs were suddenly constricted. Glancing down, he found thick vines swiftly climbing up his body, growing from the burning mosaic itself to snare him. He slashed through them--except, like a hydra, the cut vines erupted with more, and in reaction, more vines began to sprout from the surrounding glass, increasing the rate of constriction.

Kyle watched, the vision of Noelle overlapping him, as the guado raged and struggled, slashing and striking and searing away at the plants, only to have them overcome him all the faster, raising him off the ground like a thick trunk of knotted ivy. The more it grew, the more desperate and enraged he became, his keyblade burning with black fire, his free hand unleashing constant streams of dark magic, his body itself set alight in corrupt flame to try and free himself, but it seemed the overgrown Witch's Hair would not be denied--until finally, everything grew still, and he was lost inside.

That's when great thorns erupted at all angles, both outside and within, undoubtedly skewering him, when the entire plant system caught fire by the white flames it grew from, burning away and searing the man within.

As the ashes fell, Seyhanort fell to his feet, shoulders slumped, eyes burning black, body covered in the all-too-familiar black veins, and he let out a bestial roar--

--only to have the air knocked out of him by a blurred assault from the side, the white-cloaked man leaving afterimages in his wake--not of himself, but of a wind-blessed sylph; a rapid attack from the opposite side, by the woman, left identical afterimages. The two figures stood a short distance away, forming a triangle around the guado with Kyle, whose body was now glossed over by the image of Joe--

--and they converged in twister of razorwind, attacks adding together faster than could be consciously counted, all three leaving afterimages as the only evidence that they'd been in a spot whatsoever. Slowly, once again, Seyhanort was knocked into the air, inch by inch, his body spun, twisted, raised and tormented by the tornado of blows, until finally all three appeared above him. With a resounding, triple-voiced shout, they simultaneously struck, sending him crashing the few meters into the mosaic once again. Where he stayed.

The three fighters and the dragon soared into the black sky, twisting around to face the burning mosaic below--Kyle on the right shoulder of the dragon, the other two on the left. Stars slowly began to dot the black sky around him, first close, clustered around him, then spreading out, bit by bit.

{ Optional Cue: Link to All ~ Dream Drop Distance }

"You've taken a lot away from us, Xehanort!" Kyle shouted. "But we're still here--the loose ends you left behind, tied together to be your noose!"

More specks of light blinked into existence, constellations in the station's unknown distance.

"I am tied to my allies!" he declared, and on cue, the closest stars suddenly took on various spectral forms--other earthlings, other fighters.

"Together, we are all tied to our friends and family, lost!"

Though no specters appeared, streaks of light connected each Earthling to various nearby stars in representation--

"And they were tied to others, their friends, their families!"

--dozens more stars appeared, glimmering, shining, all linked to others--

"And they, theirs! And theirs! And theirs!"

--the number exploded, stars appearing at an exponential rate, swiftly becoming countless in just a few short steps--

"Seven billion, Xehanort! Seven billion lights, swallowed by darkness--but they still empower us!" Kyle shouted, placing one hand on the dragon. The cloaked forms each held an open palm forward, as did the spectral earthlings, and the dragon's insides began to glow brighter as it slowly inhaled. The station's white-gold inferno was slowly siphoned into the sky, pulled into a single, radiant ball of light in front of the dragon, centered above the guado. "We are the last links of Earth, and together, we will pull everyone back from the darkness, and we will burn anyone that stands in our way with all-consuming light! Now, do us all a favor--"

Suddenly, every earthling, both cloaked forms, and every single countless star unleashed a thin beam of light, all of which converged on the glowing ball of fire, which grew in both size and intensity, becoming blinding.

"--and fall!"

The dragon roared, unleashing a large beam of light energy into the radiant sphere, and as if it were the final straw, the ball exploded, releasing a deep, reverberating bass as a single column of holy light rapidly descended. Completely enveloped by the wide pillar of energy, Seymour's form was lost in an explosive display of light so blinding that, when the spell finally erupted entirely, even the viewing globe went blank momentarily.

[Kyla: Hall of the Cornerstone]

Finally turning away from the still and silent body of her friend, Kyla turned towards the sphere and came closer to observe- just in time to note the change in Kyle’s attire which Noelle pointed out. And then Kyle’s final confrontation with his own inner demons began. Thought it was obvious it had been going for some time, it was clear this was the final milestone for him to cross.

The entire time Kyla hugged her book to her front like a lifeline, her teeth clenched tight as she listened and watched. She felt helpless just standing there but this was his fight to finish-

-and besides, it was clear by now that he wasn’t fighting alone. Not really. And it was seeing this phantasmal link that caught the girl off guard a little.

‘We will pull everyone back from the darkness-‘

Sis.
Louis.

~ Kyla?~

‘ He’ll make it. This is it for him. Xehanort isn’t going to win.’

[[Louis? : Hall of the Cornerstone : Inside Kyla]]

There was another glow next to the pictomancer like candlelight before in a burst akin to a contained grenade, the boy she'd become familiar to phantasmal entrances made his appearance. Standing next to her, bestial features and all, the boy glanced at Kyla, frowning with concern and echoing the other voice in her head, "You okay, Kyla?"

[Kyla: Hall of the cornerstone]
Now THIS was unexpected. Kyla had simply brushed off Louis’s phantasmal visions as something perhaps normal if they were in a drop, because they were operating on the plane of the heart- but here?

Seeing as no one else could see him, this was still isolated to only herself- As his voice echoed in her head with the same question as her summon Kyla had to resist the urge to reply vocally. She stared into his eyes, now able to take in his form without the stress of immediate battle and couldn’t disregard the idea it resembled her summon quite a lot. In fact it did remind her of that time back in Hawaii.

‘It’s just- no. I’m not.’

There was no point in lying about it. He couldn't probably tell if she tried- ‘but this isn't the time right now. ‘she turned her attentions to Kyle, as if gesturing to Louis to take a look as well, ‘- he’s seems different. Attire aside. Thinking back to earlier on the ship, I wonder if this means Kyle has been able to move beyond his demons now. Those figures. I wonder if they are who I think they are.’
A side glance to the vision standing beside her- ‘You're really here, aren't you?’ What had changed since the last time they spoke? It was like his presence was stronger somehow.

-Just then the Dragon roared, Seymour was enveloped and the sphere went blank!
Kyla gasped- What happened?! Was it over?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:51 pm

[ Kyle ; ¿ Seymour ? : Station of Awakening ]

As the light faded—slowly—Kyle dropped down to the station, his breath labored—despite being in a metaphysical pocket realm where breath wasn't actually a thing. It was, mostly, a side-effect of the tightness in his chest. That he could feel; his heart was strained. He'd pushed it too hard. Worse, for too long. He felt like he was about to burst.

Everything ran cold, though, when he spotted Seymour's body—with Master Xehanort's image still flickering over it—still there. Not destroyed. Worse—

—he was standing.

"Jesus <********>, why won't you die?!" Kyle shouted in pure exasperation, shoulders slumped. The dragon and the two forms landed at his side, but they merely stood on the defensive.

"You are stronger than I gave you credit for," the dual-voices said, ignoring Kyle's question entirely. The Keyblade was mysteriously absent from his grasp. "But I fear that simply makes this success all the sweeter."

Kyle stared at him slack-jawed, desperate for answers, the gears turning and turning and turning—

His eyes widened suddenly before they closed, a heavy sigh escaping him.

"Yes. Now you knownow, you understand," they said, smiling. "All of this was decided the moment you pulled me from that void."

"You're not just a detached piece of the seal," Kyle said dully—he knew it, but he needed to hear confirmation. He opened his eyes, staring the guado down. "You're an actual piece of Seymour's heart."

"Indeed. I'll admit, your grasp on the extent of the light's strength is impressive, but," he said. He had yet to move from his position. "All your mustered righteousness would never be enough to destroy a heart."

"Fine. Then we'll simply eject you," Kyle said, rolling his shoulders back. "You're too weak to do anything now, especially in the Cornerstone's reach, so I'll just rest up and—"

"A good plan, boy, and one you've done before," they spoke, smiling. "Except the boy before me had no means to lock himself within, did he?"

The pit in his stomach seemed to sink lower than he thought possible.

"Destiny is never left to chance," they preached, shrugging as if to console Kyle of the inevitability. "The moment your guard drops, I shall take you. The moment you go beyond this protective aura, you will be mine. There is no shame in defeatonly in the refusal to accept it."

"Man, ******** that noise."

Both Kyle and Seyhanort tensed, wide-eyed, at the sound of the young man's voice—Kyle's, but not.

That's when Ajora, clothed in his black-and-crimson suit, both hands gripping none other than the Trident, crashed into the station from above, striking the dead center and embedding the artifact's points inside. The result: thin beams of light poking out from where the Trident stabbed, followed by an explosive pulse of magic that knocked Kyle off his feet, paralyzed Seymour's body in mid-air, and began a chain reaction in which the entire station began tremble—

—quake—

—and crack.

[[ Cue combo-post, in the works ]]

[[Louis? : Hall of the Cornerstone : Inside Kyla]]

The boy tilted his head at her dropping his shoulders with a soft breath, frown growing deeper as his face became further concerned. His gaze turned slightly as he glanced out of the corner of his vision at the central sphere. He didn't say anything, let her speak her mind. She asked if he was really there, but he didn't answer immediately.

As her attention was drawn back to the sphere, he took a tentative step towards Kyla and wrapped his arms around her, "I'm here."

As his chest rested against her shoulder and his arms pressed against her collar bone and shoulder blades, it was apparent despite his convincing presence, his physical being still remained vacant. In place of pressure, there was heat. The warmth intensified as he gave a small squeeze to settle her worry, "It's alright, he'll make it."

[ Errbody : Hall of the Cornerstone // Kyle's Station ]

{ Cue : Deep Anxiety Remix : Seriously read with this, it sets the whole mood, I WORKED HARD D8< }

"s**t what's going on is that good that doesn't look good."

"That's definitely not good."

"Wait, what's—"

"Ajora."

"The hell?!"

"The cocoon—"

"Was he planning this all along?!"

"—to destroy Kyle's heart!?"

Shortly after the pulse, more energy crackled around the Trident. Ajora was blown back by a massive geyser of thick, iridescent mist that erupted around the Trident, coagulated magic manifest.

"What did you DO?!" Ultima screamed, appearing in front of him, reaching to grab his throat—her hand slipping through.

"I told you—their hearts can destroy the fiends!" Surprised by his sudden ethereality, he cursed under his breath. "Damn, not enough—"

Kyle, prone; the monochrome color draining away, revealing the typical green and gold beneath.

Numerous geysers still erupted from the faults in the station, which continued fracturing, shaking, a web of cracks—

"Yen Sid, his heart—" Merlin, eye's wide, hands on his head.

"Riku," Yen Sid's eyes narrowed at the globe. "Lock it."

"What?!" Noelle exclaimed, panicking, her gaze between the orb and Kyle.

A flash of light, the Way to Dawn in his grip, Riku turned to face the dragoon's unconscious body—

"You're going to lock his heart?! But then—"

"No!" Sora moved between, arms spread to block Kyle, whose chest was glowing—

"You can't just lock his heart away!" James stood by the chairs. "Can't you send one of us to help!? There must be something—!"

"Not anymore."

A low, heavy hum filled the room.

"Someone tell me what the hell is going on cause that hum doesn't exactly sound like a good thing!"

"You've damned him!" Frenzied, face contorted in rage, made worse that she could do nothing. "You idiot, you idiot, he's unraveling—"

"No, no, shut up! He can do this!" He tried to grab Kyle, but his hand phased straight through. Eyes wide, panicking. "No no no come on I know this will work come on—"

The two cloaked forms, caught in an eruption of mist, evaporated into mist themselves, the dragon's inner fire was fading, fading, the shell turning to dust—

"Sora, move," Riku said, stern but reserved.

"Just give him time—"

"If we wait, he might be lost forever!"

"So we put him to sleep?! Just give him a chance—"

"Sora, this was the plan! He knew the risks, he just didn't tell you all!"

Joe's stony coldness broke, worry overcoming, as he ran over and grabbed Kyle's shoulders, shaking him roughly. "Get through this, dammit! KYLE!"

The corsair remained by Kyle, determined to protect him—they wouldn't lock him in sleep. Fists, jaw, clenched tight, glancing at everyone and the globe. "Come on Kyle, you can get through this. Fight!"

"Stop it stop it, just fix him!" Noelle all but shouted, eyes welling with tears.

"We're trying!"

"Com'on Kyle..." Still, white-knuckle grip on her book—yet calm, disturbingly so. "We're waiting. This isn't funny you know. Stop teasing us already and finish what you started ok?"

The unidentified humming intensified.

"Come on, remember, why do you fight?!" Ajora shouted, staring at the crumbling, the shattering. The dragon was dust, then mist—which still flooded them. Kyle stirred, groaning, sluggish, holding his chest. "Why do you resist, come on, come on—!"

"Why couldn't you just stay DEAD—"

Mist erupted beneath her, searing her, and she shrieked, dissolving as Ajora watched in horror, the station wracking, chunks exploding into dense fog—

Kyle's eyes shot open.

"Get up! Seven billion, remember everything you saw—"

"Please shut up."

"Fight you a*****e and dear god I'm going to slap you if you don't!"

"He's up!"

"But look!" Merlin gazed between the body and the orb. The lit chest was fading, surging, fading, surging—

"He'll make it!" Sora stared Riku down, neither moving.

"And if he doesn't?!" Riku asked. "What if he's too late, and we do nothing?!"

"It's called faith, Riku!" Sora gripped his chest. "You have to believe it, and them! You've seen it!"

"I..."

James' watched inner-Kyle stand, then looked back to his body. "Fight Kyle! We didn't go through all that just for you to fail!! We all know you can do it!" Composure long lost, trying to tune out the humming.

She baited the dragoon, referencing the past—"Hey, it's time to get up princess. Rise and Shine."

The humming was impossible not to notice now, growing higher, as if critical.

"Finally!" Relief, though urgent. "I didn't pack enough to fully—"

"I said shut up," A growl, struggling to his feet—balance impossible, the station fading, dissolving—

One step, slow, a second, Mist exploded underneath, unscathing—his obscured face was his family, friends, allies, dozens and dozens—stepped through, closer—

"Why... won't... you die..."

"Between that and being your puppet?"

Hand outreached, pushing through the destruction, station edges disappearing, the Trident gripped—

"If it keeps you away from my friends, whatever it takes."

Fingers digging into Kyle's shoulders, knuckles white, one hard, final shake. "KYLE!" Shoulders slumped, head hanging, unconsciously hiding his face, eyes watering. "You've gotta fight—and live—I can't do this... without you, dammit." Muttered. Quiet. Almost silent.

"Please."

The corsair's gaze, locked on the globe, his fists still clenched.

This was it. Whatever happened now Kyla wasn't looking away from it. "We all have faith in you Kyle... finish it."

Sora blinked.

"Riku! Joe!"

He twisted, grabbed Riku with one arm and Joe with the other, and suddenly yanked them to the side—

—as the Cornerstone, its inner light swirling violently, chaotically, suddenly erupted with a piercing beam of light, aimed directly at Kyle's chest.

Shouting, glaring at Seymour's paralyzed form, he twisted the Trident in place.

A massive column of light began to erupt from underneath him—

—as a matching pillar descended from the black sky above, striking the station, and sending out another explosive pulse of light that seemed to wipe everything from sight, or existence, the viewing globe only seeing pure, pearly white.

[ ? ¿ ? ¿ ? : Station of Erasure ]

The iridescent walls seemed to move back and forth for a time, as if their constitution was unstable. However, they'd soon realize the globe wasn't showing moving walls; the globe's view was turning, back and forth, as if it had taken on a moving perspective.

This was made all the more obvious when the "camera" glanced down at its own hands—Kyle's hands.

Though his hands had their gloves on, the flesh on his arms was still visible. Covering them: his glowing mystical circuits which some had seen before. And yet, instead of gold, or purple, these circuits were multi-colored, shifting through a vivid stream of hues and shades as if to cover the entire spectrum of visible light.

There was a groaning in the distance, and the perspective sharply looked toward the source—Seymour's body, hovering in the distance, still covered with Xehanort's visage. "Kyle" seemed to ignore him for now, instead swiftly glancing up.

In the distance, specks of black could be seen swirling, like birds in the sky too far to make out. He held out a hand, though, beckoning them forth, and the dark specks flew toward him, stopping mere meters away. Now, the details could be seen: the specks had been shards of black crystal, fragments of a broken mass that would have otherwise remained unseen before.

"Kyle" held his hand out, as if to gently reach for the shards, and the circuits glowed brighter instantly as the fragments came together, forming a single simple black gemstone. Immediately after, a pulse of white light washed forward from his hand and over the crystal, and the black color was literally blown off, like obsidian sand, revealing a softly gleaming opal gem underneath.

Simultaneously, the gem vanished from view, and the black "dust" disappeared in strange, barely-visible flakes of frost.

"Why..."

Xehanort's voice echoed in the distance, sore, groaning—ignored.

Next, "Kyle" turned around, passing over Seymour's form—which, in that brief instant, the viewers might have noticed had odd trails of black around it—and instead turning his gaze toward a large seal that stamped across the horizon.

With a wave of his hand, and another pulse of radiant light, the seal seemed to disintegrate as though it had been hit by a powerful wave of force—and as it unraveled into non-existence, an inhuman, nameless screech echoed and faded away.

"Why..."

Finally, the perspective looked toward Seymour's form. Once in full focus, it became clear that the "black trails" were traces of darkness covering the guado's entire form, clothes and all, like one full-body mystic seal. The darkness seemed palpable coming off of him as he turned to face the "camera", golden eyes filled with fury.

Fury surged from them, the voices two-fold suddenly hundred-fold, thousand-fold, manifold, struggling against the all-consuming light that had destroyed the station.

Once more, "Kyle" held out a hand. This time, however, he went to close his fist—

—brilliant light began to condense in a rapid flash, something within his grasp—

—and then, the viewing orb sparked, going blank, and not returning.

Finally, moments after the orb went blank, the Cornerstone's beam of light faded away, and the humming stopped.

Neither Riku nor Sora spoke, eyes glued to the orb. Anxiety filled Sora's gaze as he looked to Riku, to Yen Sid, to Merlin, and none of them spoke, all simply turning their gaze to Kyle's unmoving form. His chest heaved with breath, but that simply meant the body still lived.

"Is... did he..."

Merlin walked over to the dragoon, placing a hand on his chest. His brows furrowed, eyes closed. His shoulders drooped forward as he heaved a heavy sigh.

Only to suddenly open his eyes, startled. He leaned in closer, as if somehow that would make things clearer, hand still hovering over Kyle's sternum. He heaved another sigh; but this was filled with a different emotion entirely.

"He'll make it," he said, turning to others with a weary smile.

"What happened?" Riku asked, looking between the two wizards. Sora was too far gone in celebration, jumping and whooping to notice—though Merlin's next words stifled that.

"Judging from what I'm sensing, his heart was... gone," Merlin said, eyes quickly glancing at some of the people who had opposed the plan to put Kyle into stasis. "But it's... well, putting itself back together. Slowly."

"I think you're thinking a magician," Cloud said with an amused roll of his eyes. "What about you? What would you do if there was no darkness to worry about?"
