Well, I can see how Gaia has to become more 'money hungry'. Afterall, they can't operate those servers for free, and unless you really start pushing hard, the liklihood of someone actually being nice enough to donate is rather slim.

My heroine sim decided to finally get off her a** and stop the evil warlock sim from taking over the neighborhood.
Once she came to his place, he erased her memories and now she believes she's his sex slave. They've gone at it in bed, the closet, the sauna, the hot tub, the helicopter, in bed, and in bed yet again.
Now he's simply got the Magic School to deal with, but that's only got a handful of teenage students and a single teacher. Plus, how much trouble can a teenage witch cause? ... ninja

A lot of 'em are dead.
Prior to the 2 moving in together, the warlock would hire a maid service, then immediately kill the male maids when they showed up.
Technically, I was forced into doing it because the female maid outfit can only be obtained ( without hacks, that is ) by having a female maid move into that household. Once that's done, the maid outfit is wearable by any adult female sims in that lot, and they can wear it and move out into other lots and it's available anywhere a maid outfit-wearing sim moved into from that point on, etc.
Just a bit ago I got some hacks for the witch skintone over-rides so that now, my evil witch sims don't turn all green like the Wicked Witch of the West, because that got old fast. So, my evil warlock sim looks just like an ordinary old man, wearing a black warlock suit, with an evil aura around him.
